- This video compares the CZ 75B to the CZ 75 compact. One is full size one is considered concealed carry size.
75B:
4.6" barrel, 8.1" long, 5.4" tall, 1.4" wide, 35oz w/empty mag, (2) 16+1 magazines, DA/SA trigger, 3 dot white sights, manual safety, plastic grips MSRP $649
75 Compact:
3.75" barrel, 7.25" long, 5" tall, 1.4" wide, 33oz w/empty mag, (2) 15+1 magazines, DA/SA trigger, 3 dot white sights, manual safety, plastic grips MSRP $649
By far the best video on the CZ75 compact. The section at 2:00 where you talk about the hand size on the grip was exactly what I was looking for in consideration of my potential purchase. Thank you.
👍
CZ's out of the box are impressive. The fit and finish are excellent. They are accurate and reliable out of the box. The stock sights aren't great, but they are better than stock Glock sights. I really like that the CZ's action and trigger improve as they break in. I like my CZ's much more than my Beretta. Oh, and you are right, 1911's are for 45 ACP.
I actually wanted a Beretta but the one I wanted the 92XI was out of stock so I went with the 75B instead and now I have multiple CZs and no Berettas
i actually prefer glock sights and cz offers one model that is also fully adjustable, wich is nice, that cost about 110 euros, wich is less nice.
I have the CZ 75 PCR and I LOVE it. Feels good in my hand. Replaced my SIG 1911 Compact for my every day carry
I like the heavier all steel frame I wish they made a p-01 all steel model
LOL! I have the same firearms and I also installed the same coolhand grips on both of my pistols. Awesome pistols, you can’t go wrong with a CZ.
I have the CZ 75 compact as well, and love it. I bought factory rubber compact PCR grips for mine. For me they are much better than the plastic ones. This and the 1911 are my choices as well.
I am looking to get wood grips for my 75 compact.
Curious what you paid for the factory rubber? 25 is about the cheapest I've found. Taboo or considered blasphemy to ask how they feel? Plastic not only look and (sound) cheap they feel just as bad. Not at the LOK grip point of $75 plus shipping yet....🤨
@@jamestaylor4328 they are ok but I like the g10 grips bc they are thin material and it gives a better feel in the hand. I like the plastic more than the rubber ones if I had to choose.
I prefer the factory rubber over the LOK, or the aluminum ones from my Shadow 2. I have big hands and like the palm swells and the texture of the rubber. It is all personal preference, but grips can really change the feel. I think wood looks the best, but I haven't found any with palm swells.@@jamestaylor4328
Do you carry the 75 compact? I'm on the fence about selling my hi power and getting one and if it works for you then I may jump for it.
I'm young but spiritually a boomer for metal guns, I hate plastic.
I have but I rotate. It doesn't fit in my shoulder bag as well as some others do.
I'm 66. Been packing all my life. The 75B is a very reliable weapon.
I just ordered the Compact from Buds! Your reviews have helped a lot! This will be my first firearm. What are the best bullets for this? Same bullets for all CZ 75 models? Or does it depend on the size of the pistol or the use?
CZ will run most 9mm ammo but I would stay away from steel or aluminum cased if you can. I have plain fmj for range use and jhp for ccw.
@@erik22laxa particular brand etc?
@user-we2qv1cx6x most ammo is manufactured by the same company Vista under different brand names so a lot of it is the same. Stay from Winchester white box.
@@erik22laxwhy stay a away from white box? This is a continuous +P rated gun.
Winchester USA Valor NATO for the win!
If you want new-manufacture flush-fit magazines, the CZ RAMI extended magazines will work in the CZ75 Compact if you replace the plastic baseplates with metallic ones.
Good tip
I just purchased a 75B Omega. I was planning to do a trigger upgrade by following one of several assembly/disassembly videos uploaded by any one of a number of after-market parts suppliers (including Cajun Gun Works). However, the parts making up the sear package on my pistol are markedly different than the parts illustrated on the videos by Cajun and others. Not sure what I am going to do, but the difference in my 75 and those in the videos is massive and I don't feel confident enough to rely on the published videos to safely get me through a complicated upgrade. I was wondering if you ran into this problem with your 75B or your Compact and, if so, what did you do about it? Can you refer me to any videos illustrating these parts differences and how they would affect an upgrade?
The Omega model is slighlty different. I watched the CGW video on the SP 01 and it is so similar to the 75b I didn't have any issues. I will look and see if there is specific Omega models videos. The sear cage I haven't messed with yet. Where did you buy the sear cage from? I know CGW website has a compatibility feature bc not all 75 series parts are interchangeable and being the Omega models I would start troubleshooting compatibility 1st and then go from there.
I emailed CGW. They do not have a trigger upgrade package compatible with the Omega trigger system.
The compact is sweet, indeed! Back in the '90s, I had a Tanfoglio clone marketed by Springfield Armory as the P9C. While a really good looking little pistol, the grip was just enough off to not accept CZ compact mags. I wound up trading it off, but the compact CZ75 is on my want list.
75B compact! Perfect!!
Hello, do you know what the manual safety exactly does? Blocking the firing pin? Thank you.
Nice review. I have a 75B and am looking for a compact to join her (with the safety)
I like the compact a little better bc it fits my hand size perfectly and it's 1 less round than the 75B.
I need to call my FFL to get the P-01 that I was thinking for years.
nice videos man you should do shooting range reviews
The range I am a member at isn't open on Mondays and I am hoping I can work to get enough subs to have them let me use the range on Mondays to film content for the channel and in return advertise for them on the channel bc its s full service range, gun store, gun Smith and they have training classes. I wish land was more affordable or affordable at all.
After owning and shooting the cz 75b my shooting preferences now are biased towards steel frame pistols. Accurate and soft Shooting! Although my ccw right now involves 22lr pistols. Rotating between the Keltec p17 and Walther ppks in 22lr. The accuracy of the keltec is very impressive. Try it out if you have a chance. Might be worth picking up if you find it they only cost around 250 and you can find them for cheaper.
I got the 75b because the Beretta 92 was out of stock and I still have no Beretta and multiple CZs....all steel
@@erik22lax I once shot a beretta 92 fs it was meh. I was a newby shooter at the time and I shot the Springfield mil spec 1911 in 45 auto better. The 92 is a cool gun though for 90s action movie nostalgia.
Thank you for the video. I chose to get these two for my first firearms. I hope to have them for life. They sure seem quality. I was going to chose the PCR over this compact. But I think the set will be cool. Having both all steel: the Original and its compact. Beautiful pistols. Initially wanted the P 01 but discontinued or the ones out there not allowed in California where I live…
I chose to get the compact over p-01 b/c it is steel frame & has manual safety.
@@erik22lax I keep reading that the PCR is better for defense/carry since it’s a decocker. I am new to firearms, what am I missing? Cannot the regular compact do both? Whereas the decocker is limited to one way of carry? In a time of stress, is it quicker to use the decocker, or does it just take more practice to switch off safety quickly?
@@PJAlaska the decocker vs safety is a preference. I use 1911 & CZ with manual safety so it is part of the muscle memory now manipulating the safety. Not a fan of double action trigger pulls of 8+lbs myself and you won't practice double action much compared to single action so comes down to experience/preference
@@erik22lax thank you! I hear such conflicting advice. But now I think I understand. Much appreciated.
My favourite the best handgun in the world
Cannot decide between 75B and Compact. Analisys paralysis :(
This should be my first handgun. I have smaller hands, and not planning to carry until I get really comfortable.
This gun should be home defense to compliment 9mm PCC and range practice. I was able to rent full size Beretta and feel somewhat comfortable, but grips feel a little bit too wide for my hands.
Could not get a good grip with ANY Glocks I tried.
Looking for gun with the manual safety too.
75B or 75C?
75C. I got the 75B 1st bc I couldn't find the Beretta 92 I wanted but I like the 75c more. It's smaller but the weight & capacity is not much different from the 75b.
@@erik22laxWhat was the beretta 92 you were looking for? USA vs Italian made?
I think the Goldilocks mag for the 75B are the Mec-Gar mags that have the plastic base plate and 17 rnds. It is the same dimensions as OEM 16 rnd mags, smaller base plate and are better built (not to mention only $24 apiece)
i am looking to buy the handgun CZ 75 B or compact
Are the slide assembly's interchangeable?
What kind of grips did you put on the cz 75 B ?
G10. Cool hand brand. Amazon find.
What holster did you get for the compact?
I use my north face shoulder strap bag. I usually use pocket holsters for ccw but this is too heavy for that. There is a guy at the local gun shows who makes leather holsters any way you want-I like a cross draw leather holster for it tbh
hi im new to the firearms world does each magazine fit in each as they are both 75 or are they different
The 75b mags are 16, the 75 compact are 15 so the larger 75b will fit into the smaller 75c but not the other way around
@@erik22lax thanks for the information
8:23 I am curious, why is one not supposed to drop the slide over an empty chamber? Thank you
to not damage the slide or barrel-not recommended use
@@erik22laxOK, thanks. And what exact parts of the slide or barrel are prone to damage and what is the mechanism?
If you have small hands I don't think you'll like the Beretta 92FS. You may like something that has the Vertec grip...92GTS, etc.
I had 92xi but I didn't like it
@@erik22lax I just bought a new CZ 75BD but haven't taken it home yet. I cross shopped it with various Berettas but found the grip to be too thick. What didn't you like about it?
@JayBee-cr8jm the trigger was squishy and had an audible crunch to it, and the grip wasn't my forte. CZ is my jam.
Compact perfect grip size with mag
Mine has the rear sight off,I realised after missing targets when practising.I will take to the gunsmith because it does not move I try to correct it myself.
@@ChrisMzizi-ge1gn get the sight pusher tool. It's super easy to use.
My local ffl has a cz 75b omega convertible
Those are hard to come by bc the omega series was discontinued
@@erik22lax would it be worth getting they also have the cz 75 compact.....it's a hard decision
The cz 75 b omega is full size
@perryfryar5424 what's the cost for each? I paid under $600 for the 75b and 75 compact
@@erik22lax 689- full size 649- compact
I have both but after hearing about the rollpin firing pin wearing a hole in it after about 1,000 rounds, I wish I had bought a Shadow Systems. If you replace the rollpin with a solid steel pin, then the firing pin breaks. CZ needs to change the flaw..
i am installing a CGW spring kit and new solid steel roll pin currently on my 75 SP-01-
That's 1000 rounds of "dry fire". The firing pin stops short of the roll pin if it is firing a cartridge (or using a Snap-Cap).
Spend 50-cents for an O-ring or buy some Snap-Caps.
Enjoy your CZ. I still like the 1911 better, but I do like the SP-01 I have, I see no reason for any "upgrades" other than sights. The trigger is very good for a DA/SA. It also shoots about 12" left at 50 yards from the factory.
@@Old_Sailor85doesn’t the snap cap not work because the hammer is still hitting the firing pin?
Can you put a full size slide on the PCR frame?
Not likely probably would require some fitting and the PCR frame is aluminum not steel so the dimensions may be slightly different
I have a PCR and find myself really thinking the full size has some awesome appeal. Just would rather have an option to swap slides than pay for another gun haha@@erik22lax
Have you ever tried on your compact?
@@georgekrstev7712 they offer a kit that turns full size CZs into .22lr. Complete slide swap that fits onto frame directly. Not sure they make it for PCR model.
@@georgekrstev7712 no
Own the full size 75 B (one of finest handguns ever made), VP9, USP9 & XMacro. Excluding the USP, the only one that’s gone up in value since purchasing is the original, iconic, full size 75B. Great video.
I love my new cz, only issue Is the front sight is dim
I put Tru Glo NS on mine. Sights are not even white. They are like dirty white and they are so low profile I didn't like them. At least they're metal though lol
can you swap cz75b barrel into cz75 compact?
Probably. Why would you though? Its 75" longer.
@@erik22lax not sure if its will fit, thank for the reply
BTW, did you know there's a CZ 75 Omega model that comes with suppressor height sights and threaded barrel? I would have gotten one of those had I not been in this God forsaken state of Kalifornia.
Discontinued. They Discontinued all the Omega models.

I feel sad.
I hate the glock because there’s no external safety
Me too,I liked it first but after thorough thinking about safety,it came out of my mind.I likt CZ75 and I have the 87model.I have been thinking of acquiring CZ75B.
