I've been looking at a lot of reviews on UA-cam for the CZ 75D over the past month. Even though this review is 5 years old, it's been one the most informative ones I've seen so far. Helped me narrow down my choices. Thanks for posting this.
Long time Sig fan/collector. Just recently started shooting CZ and love them. After watching your vid I ordered one of these for CCW. Thanks for the content.
I bought one of these, an older model with the steel frame, no loaded chamber indicator, full length metal guide rod. The broken-in DA/SA rigger is nicely smoothed out. As far as I'm concerned, these pistols are perfectly designed. DA/SA, de-cocker only is the way to go. Ergos rule on this, super accurate and easy to shoot. Best kept secret in 9mm pistols.
I'm about to pick up a 75 P-01 - basically this same gun with a rail, along with a few other minor differences. I couldn't be more excited about it. In a world full of glocks and shields, the CZ's are a very welcome change of scenery. Glocks and M&P's are great guns but I'm getting a little tired of striker fired polymers.
I really lucked out. My local gun shop had one of these under the counter. I jumped at the chance to get it the very next day. Sold my used Glock 19 to some chump for $500 (you can get them brand new for $525 if you do a little negotiating) and picked this beauty of a CZ up.
I have the 75-B, 75 compact & 75 PCR...By far my favorite is the CZ 75 compact ..It is a awesome weapon. accurate , all steel. CZ USA makes quality firearms...All of the CZ guns I've shot have all been well made, accurate guns.
Awesome review! I sold my SIG P225 to get the CZ SP01! I just bought the PCR D waiting for the background check and then viola!! I have been drinking the CZ Kool-Aid and IMO the CZ Brand is top notch!
That button on the grip frame is a Magazine release, not slide release. Hammer fired is conventional, and not the striker fired. Just saying. Otherwise, good review 👍🏼
awesome gun bro...one of my favorites, along with the p-01 and the original 75...they just came out with a new P-01 omega convertible which is frickin awesome...give it a look
Just wanted to say excellent review!...I enjoyed itI have an SP01 and a PCR on the way Glad you like it... I love my digs and HKs and flock but amazingly nothing comes close to a 75I am going to try the full size SS sphinx dust one when it hits the market. Again nice review 👍🏼
Nice review, I have the standard compact ( shop didn't have a PCR but finding a CZ in stock alone wasn't easy) it's a great gun and I plan to buy several more CZ pistols in the future.
An old video, but a good one. Other than a couple of "mispeaks" good solid information. I hope you're still doing them. By the way. Good gun. The PCR is now my favorite carry gun.
con. No rail. pro. novak sight vs crappy rear sight on P-01. Also, for me, this grips on this gun fit better in my hand than a p01 because the p01 has a swell in the grip which for my hand doesn't work. Anyway, this will be my next gun because it just feels great and it's also old school in design.
Six and a half years after you posted this video, and I find it shortly after I bought one of my own. I have four or five polymer-framed CZ pistols already. My EDC was a P10S, then a P10C (because the longer grip fits my hand better). A few months ago I added the P07, and the DA/SA trigger has brought me to have that as my EDC. I really like the DA/SA trigger for EDC. But I saw the P01 and the P01 Omega (which seemed a good idea since I have a P07 with the Omega fire-control system) and the 75D PCR, and all three appealed to me. I don't have the funds to buy all three, so had to choose. It came down to the sights and the decocker. The P01 sights didn't suit me as well as those on the PCR. I thought the P01 Omega would be good because I'm accustomed to the decocker on the P07, and had taught myself to use it pretty reliably, but the PCR decocker is easier to use. I kind of wish I'd a chance to try that before I bought my P07, even though one of the points in favor of the P07 was magazine compatibility with my P10-series pistols. The only problem I have with CZ pistols is that spare parts and holsters are a little harder to find than spares (magazines primarily) or holsters for more popular makes like SigSauer, S&W M&P, or Glock. Some folks seem to think that CZ is the "hipster" brand of pistols. While I'm certainly not a hipster, I find that the CZ pistols fit my hands better than other brands I've tried, and every gun I'm likely to shoot is a better gun than I am a shooter, so why not go with what fits my hands better?
Excellent review of the PCR. I really want one but I already have the P-01 and recently sold the SP-01 and full-size 75B. I'm not sure if I'll be able to pick one up, I'm in Nor-Cal so I'm fighting the same ridiculous anti 2A laws.
I would strongly recommend getting the Dawson Precision Tritiun sights for this. They are night sights with Tritium, but have the same profile as these sights and are able to match other form-fitting holsters. They are worth the money and make this a viable self-defense firearn
So if you click the decocker once and hold it, bring the trigger back, then release the decocker, it will fully decock the pistol without discharging while a round is in the chamber. This was my first handgun and I still carry it after many years of shooting.
Really? Still waiting for my PCR to arrive, so haven't had a chance to try this, but I've been reading and watching everything I can, and this is the first I've heard of this function. Why doesn't everyone use this? Seems much better to have the hammer all the way down to avoid getting things stuck under a half-cocked hammer...
Browning bda And it's probably one of the most smooth is smooth racking and shooting pistols you will ever shoot great videos always hope you get some more shooting and practicing
This is the ULTIMATE EDC!!!! I have the compact steel slide and Allow Frame without decocker mine does not have a safety this is the best carry gun ever. Also you are right the regular compact does not have front serrations
I haven't reloaded in quite a while, but I do remember that ball type powder vs. extruded always shot cleaner in my pistol reloads, I remember loading up some rounds with bull's-eye, that stuff was filthy dirty.
Whereabouts in Calif., do you live? I live in the Bay Area and shoot my CZs regularly at the range. Love all of them SP01 9mm, 75 B 40 S&W, Kadet 2 .22LR, 97 B .45 ACP, P01 9mm, RAMI 2075 9mm. I have put several thousand rounds. I think they are good value for money.
+HHB368 Its hard to say, I use a simple IWB holster that I found on Amazon bade by a company called OUTBAGS. It fits the gun really well, and the construction is good, but requires a sturdy belt to use effectively. The CZ 75 PCR is on the top limit of what I would carry size-wise. Maybe some other people would have better suggestions.

how do you fully decock the hammer from the 1/4 decocked position? also if you are in 1/4 position and you try to pull it down to fully cocked, but slip, will the hammer fling back up to the 1/4 position??
After years of carry a Glock 26, which has been very reliable for me, I’m thinking of getting a CZ 75D PCR. My only concern is if the CZ is going to a lot bigger and heavier than the G26, which I carry AIWB in a MIC trigger-guard holster. I fear the CZ might be too big for this method of carry, as I really don’t like traditional holsters.
Zacki Inu it definitely carries fairly heavy compared to most polymer guns I think. It's around the same size as a G19, but less bulky. It's definitely concealable and carryable, but I think it carries best with some sort of two-loop holster w/ a nice sturdy belt.
I'm a big fan of snap off trigger covers aka micro holsters. Nothing prevents ADs better (because you can easily visually confirm no debris snuck inside).
The fourth amendment protects you from unreasonable searches and seizures, but I prefer not to have illegal (read "felony") objects in my house. I know some people keep high capacity magazines in their houses, but I don't think its worth the risk.
Yes, random home invasions are incredibly rare, just get a lot of ink when they do occur being so terrible. I was in buying ammo when this pistol caught my eye. It's a very natural feel, felt better than my P10c in my hands. Appreciate the informative video. Will check to see if there is a ready made steel guide rod available before I purchase.
Nope, decocker will only return the hammer halfway down. You need to either use the trigger and your thumb to slowly set the hammer down or you could just dry fire it once the gun is unloaded.
+kamikazikaizer My intuition after holding both guns also tells me yes (If it is a CZ-75D). I think that would definitely fall outside of what CZ and I would recommend for their guns though. Take a look at this forum post: www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=29039.0

great gun, love mine. I put some LOK G10 grips(grenade pattern) slims the grip down and feels much better than the std grips. They are same as VZ grips at a better price. lokgrips.com/

I just moved OUT of that commie state. No regrets. Weirdos move IN.
What's the point of the partially decocked hammer? Is this unique to CZ?
or how he calls the mag release a slide release must be nervous in front of the camera
Not admiring safety protocol.
...HANDGUN/PISTOL!!! HANDGUN/PISTOL!!! HANDGUN/PISTOL!!!
That’s a mag release not slide release
Good review! Your CZ looked dry, oil it.
I would have just kept your original magazines.
Enginerd - check out GUNBLUE490. He has some great tutorials on reloading, shooting... loads of good info from him.
Plastic guide rod 😒 eh. Cool gun tho ..
Cali......it don't matter NOT LONG we will all be screwed with 10 rounders you can bet your'e ass on that.
Cz works best with 9mm 124gr

Should have kept the magazine 😂😂

Ummmm ok
😆😆🤔🤔😂😂😁😁🤔🤔🤔
Obviously new with guns
great gun, love mine. I put some LOK G10 grips(grenade pattern) slims the grip down and feels much better than
the std grips. They are same as VZ grips at a better price. lokgrips.com/
Stephen did you find the gun became more snappy with the LOK grips? I saw other reviews where they claim that the recoil is felt more with aftermarket grips. Thanks!
What a Drip. Totally nerd!!
Unfortunately I can only give one thumbs down. You said generic I wanted to give you a thumbs down for the fourth time.
Mmmmm let’s treat all firearms as if they are loaded, watch as I demonstrate while I put my hand over the muzzle of a loaded firearm….🤦🏽♂️
