Yeah I was already trying to reduce my sc buying and spending with certain policies and I’m gonna try this to I already declined getting sc on double weekends I’ve tried :
Only buying horses when I have all others have been trained
I actually had a terrible graphics bug and sent sso a report and sso did NOTHING and quit the problem period
Sadly I don’t have a social media but I really want sso to find other ways of having us spend sc and change the around 90 horse per year to around 50 horses per year

Last time I bought star coins it was November 2020, I bought 10k on double sc weekend and then I promised myself that I won't buy any sc for the next year, so far I'm doing great and I'm glad that more and more players are making that decision. Hope it will change something 🙏
Yes! I did the exact same thing. I still have around 10,000. I just haven't had the urge to spend it. I will only spend them when the team makes a noteworthy change to the game.

I know a lot of people that play SSO only play SSO, so they don't understand how severely SSO ignores their playerbase's critique and ideas to make the game better. It's really very intense how they do not listen to ANY of the wants and needs of their players. I play many other games that are not as widely played, not full of recurring purchases to be able to even enjoy the game remotely, that listen far more to their players wants and needs and constantly pushing out new gameplay and fixing bugs and issues. Star Stable's release of horses that don't have any abilities on their own or special uses or the ability to build a bond with it's rider is like buying a weapon skin for a crappy weapon you can't use in a crappy game with nothing to do and no action
Yes ! It's something I noticed, the vast majority of the players don't even know what's a MMORPG, they only know few popular names like WOW but never really played it after the first level. And those players are most of the time the ones who will defend SSO even when they are wrong. I used to play several MMORPGs ( and still do ) and SSO is the only one who released an empty game then played the victim explaining that "it takes time" when the players asked them why they didn't have quests to do.

my biggest problem is that they just dont listen. like you said, it's all cookie cutter responses. i remember them at least pretending to look like they care by making a post addressing a large bug/glitch in game. now they only talk about it if you nag them for an answer. they dont take anyone seriously anymore and seem to ignore the fact that they have a massive adult playerbase.

I remember back in February when i asked where the valentines update was, and if the shops were the only thing we would get for thos years valentine. SSO didnt respond , but a few people did. They said that there wouldnt be because SSO was busy with wild woods. I wonder what they would think now that we also didnt get april fools or easter updates, and there isnt a new area they can blame it on
About a month ago, I sent sso a message on the help center explaining to them why they need to stop releasing horses so much and all that stuff. I even linked videos about how sso can improve and stuff. It took me a long time to write that. I was very very disappointed that I got a message they copied and pasted in. Its the message they give to almost everyone where they assure there all doing fine and stuff.
That is totally unfair. It is unfair to the people who are passionate, to the people who care, to those who put in effort and money into the game, to those who stood (and still stand) up for them. I am sorry you had to go through that, and I understand your frustration 100%

i hate when they do this. i brought up a serious concern once - during january and february i had issues with my launcher and i had to reinstall the game EACH wednesday because the game wouldn’t run after getting updated (the screen would go completely black) so i mailed sso about this and asked whether there is something i can do to prevent the game from shutting down without reinstalling it on a weekly basis and guess what! i got a copy pasted reply that told me to simply reinstall the game!! the bug got fixed at some point, but i can’t pin point when, because honestly i was too frustrated to play at that point.
Honestly, SSO to me, sounds like their just too lazy to do anything. I once mailed them about a club issue, they replied back: Make sure to not put any inappropriate words! I wasn't, & yet for the next 2 weeks, same copy & pasted answer. I miss the old SSO. I wish SSO was like AJHQ (Animal Jam HQ), I hate these kind of people.

This Star Coin "boycott" was something I suggested a log time ago and got a lot of negative response to. Hopefully people NOW get the message that we need to do something. In my recent videos you may see I have like 8 or 9 thousand star coins but it's because the last time I bought them I haven't really been spending them and they are just building up due to the weekly allowance. Enough with all the new horses.....move on with the quests especially the main story line!
I've been saving up anyways, I think there are one or two times I bought SC, not more.
I hope they do something with the horses too. This game's biggest dissapointment is the horses... Some are pretty, some are ugly but you can barely do anything with them.

yea its funny how sso's first response to a bug/glitch is always 'try relogging or reinstalling the game' like its always a fault on our end. If the team was provided with the proper equipment to run and create the game, we wouldn't get the bugs in the first place.
@@millyboop2047 That's what bothers me too. There are a LOT of bugs and glitches on literally ALL horses. Granted, sometimes you have to look a bit closer and then I don't think it's a big deal (reins going through necks, tails clipping through the horses' legs, manes going through decorations on the horse).
But other things are really jarring and it's just not the player's fault (the glitching manes on the Rune horse and lusitano, the entire Gen 3 friesian...)

Ha, I don't even HAVE money for star coins. The last time I paid sso was when I made a new account in 2019 after my 2011 account was banned for reasons I am not aware of.
We've tried talking to SSO and they've easily ignored us. It's time to make it clear we can't be ignored.
This is a make-or-break point for them. If they listen then Star Stable will probably be around for years to come. But if they continue to ignore us like they have, even when we are yelling at the top of our lungs. They will break.
This was my childhood and I don't want it to go down in flames. However, they need some tough love.
I'd like to add that Five years ago Lifetime Star Rider was 70-ish dollars and I got it for my birthday. My cousin got it for Christmas in 2020 and the price has gone up SUBSTANTIALLY. (I believe it was $100 or so) I was shocked. In my opinion, they should have never raised the price for a game that has no story.
I started playing this game five years ago and I loved everything about it. But what drew me in was the story. Every time there was an update I looked forward to it. But a year and a half ago I just stopped. I couldn't make myself get on. It was boring and I was tired of nothing new. I had bug problems, account problems, and some online bullying problems and I got similar responses every time. *We understand and are working on the problems*. It's frustrating and ultimately what made me change servers and stop playing.

So I’m French and Non English communities have no clue that all of this is going on so I have been trying to spread as much awareness as I can on the comment sections of our UA-camrs but it’s so hard so if you are French speak English and know what is going on please TRANSLATE! to our communities! Don’t shareholders make money off of us being happy? Pleasing the customers will make us play more of the game, therefore gaining more money for the company, making more for the shareholders. Generally speaking... Yeah. That's how it works. I'm no economics major myself, but I have taken a passing interest in it recently and the problem SSO- and many companies- is running into is they've seen a correlation in horses and profit. They see that "new horses = more money" and completely forget that the reason that is the case is that customers are happy enough with the product they actually sell, the horse game, and are willing to spend more on it as a result.
The fact SSO started to go downhill with a change in management likely isn't a coincidence. It happens all too often, management will have some sort of change, usually, the owner will be swapped or if the company is big enough a branch manager will change, then the next thing you know that company (or branch) is sinking because the new management thinks their method is better than what is already clearly working in the company's favor.
SSO is on a downward spiral because they've fallen victim to this cycle and at this point, the best we can do is try to remind them that the people they should be focusing on pleasing are the people bringing in the money. Shareholders should have never become their priority, and it's about time they realized it.

I think this will be good for the players, as well as the team, because they will remember how to save up. Currently everyone are like little kids, spending all their allowance and wanting more.
I will not be buying star coins for these months, SSO really needs to start listening to us. As someone who has played since 2012, it is extremely sad seeing how the company has been doing lately. I sincerely hope this movement helps. And kudos to you for making such high quality, informative and educational videos on the matter! Since I haven't bought SC since... 2017 at least, I'm going on strike by not buying horses and I will extend it through June. I'm also working on a series of videos about SSO's history and what I feel as a author/game dev/fashion person what the real problem is. I had hoped to get the first one up today, but I forgot to check my receipts so I have to re-record tonight (awful apt. lighting). I'll shoot you an email or a DM on reddit if that's okay when I have it uploaded tomorrow. I hope to have one video a day before the new quests come out (and then I can react, I guess.)

It’s been months since I have uninstalled sso i miss my favorite game but I’m not downloading again until they change, my parents don’t want to pay the one time payment because it’s expensive so I would just pay monthly with my allowance but a few months ago I stopped, there is nothing to do in the game anymore ! Sso is my childhood game and I’m sad to say this but I’m not going to pay for nothing anymore ! I was paying for an adventure not a horse ! I was happy with my 3 horses I needed nothing more but they destroyed that ! Sorry sso but at this point it’s like giving away free money ! I’m sure a lot of us will come back and you will prevent a lot of those who are still there from leaving if you change !!
I was planning on buying 10000 sc for my bday which is in June, but as I thought about it (this was before this video came out) I realised I never really play sso much anymore- I literally went back yesterday from a two week break. I’ve found myself playing sims a lot more, so I’m probably going to spend the money on that instead UNLESS sso decides to change and actually listens.
Also if it’s okay to use gacha club im going to send something in!
That's kind of the problem I have as well. I have nothing to do, the game is dead when you reach a certain point, and they're not fixing it. Let's hope they'll listen!
After they failed to restore my account properly it showed me they didn't care and they just want money. I refuse to spend the SC I do have and buy any more. I've stopped playing completely until they improve
Something that’s very freaky is that, in 2016 my mother told me “You shouldn’t buy star coming because” and she proceeded to explain exactly what is happening right now.
But I didn’t listen and brushed it off as an excuse to not buy them, or anything else for that matter. She used to do this a lot with things I asked for.
I guess it’s just a coincidence but still is weird how she knew this would happen.
I also can ask her how she knew what would happen because she’s no longer with us. But yeah she explained this like 4 years before it happened

Luckily for me I don't find anything on SSO worth spending SC for. The horses are totally useless, they just look nice. I find it easy now in SSO to not spend anything at all... it just means you won't have horses to train, which is tedious and pointless anyways because a fully-trained horse does nothing but turn faster and run faster than a level 1 horse
I've been considering to buy lifetime but I'm putting it off for a while, due to personal reasons and the state of the game. Not to mention THE PRICE! The fact that lifetime costs more than an AAA game is just shocking.
80 dollars (for me, I use AUD) may seem a lot but if your an avid player of the game is worth it!

it is 8.49 aud dollars for a month membership, to make this little bit easier imma round it up to 9 dollars
now imma times 9 with 12 (the months)
9 times 12 which equals too 108 dollars
108 - 80 = 28
you would be saving 28 dollars
(im not gonna do the 3 months one as I don't know how to do that one)
but it is up to you if you want to buy lifetime or not

I thought the old horse release schedule was bad, but this new one is even worse. A brand new breed every single month and all the coats at once means they are churning out EVEN MORE horses than before. At least before, you kinda had time to save up in between and afford to buy one of each horse breed (not one of each coat release batch) even if you didn't buy Star Coins. But now, if you wanted to buy one of each breed released you would have no choice but to buy Star Coins. I was also angry when the "new" Greendale race came out as it looked like they just took the current one and reversed the track, and that was the whole update. No bonus shop item, no other small five minute quest, that was it.
I love this game, it means so much to me and many others, but if SSO keeps going down this path they are going to lose many players including myself. We can still save this game, but it's time for SSO to wake up.

I think it's kind of strange that they use the covid excuse since they are releasing more horses and more things to buy then ever before. I feel like if they were really struggling, there might be a noticeable dip in quality of the horses or less horses being released overall. But the opposite is true.
@@JazminFloral1020 I 100% agree. COVID affected everyone, but if they really took as hard a hit as they claim, then less horses would be released and more quests instead since horses are more work with all the modeling/coat coloring/animating that goes into it, as well a writing an entire breed description. But here we are getting a brand new breed every month with all coats being released at once and the only significant quests we've gotten in 2021 being the saving Cedar quests and the Big Bonny H.O.R.S.E recycling.
The last time I actually bought SC was in 2018. It hasn't been worth it since and if they don't do something about the way they handle their game it's going to stay that way :)

Awe! Thank! ♥ And yip, they are terrified SSO will sink within in a month if we don't pay them all our money. I have no idea where it's coming from, but I suppose if you're young it might seem that a company can only stay afloat with a very high concentrated stream of money. IDK, maybe that XD
Probably one month of less money would teach them to streamline their business and make it easier for them to only spend money on the projects that are worth spending money on. This would probably mean less free media, this would mean probably canceling the animated series, and they would have to stop releasing music on spotify. They're getting so much money from players that they have enough extra to focus on projects that are not necessary for a game development.
I'm specifically thinking about long-term changes. If people stop spending as much money overall on the game, big changes would need to be made to spend money on only the important things
This isn’t the game I used to know - it makes me really sad.
SSO is my favorite game. I've been playing for almost a year now, but I refuse to not do anything to help them realize that they can't just not care about us! We care about this game, and we need to help them listen to us and stand together. They can't treat us this way!

I really like this idea. I want to see SSO change and start putting effort into the actual game again, so with a way to do that so close at hand I'm optimistic about it working. I think with enough people on board we can make a change and from the sounds of things most of the community is in agreement. Maybe if management at SSO had listened when concerns were first brought up this wouldn't need to happen, but at this point, I don't think there are a lot of alternate options.
If they won't give us more allowance, then at least they can cheapen stable care... We lose 49 star coins in a week because of it. So we basically only get to save 51 star coins, instead of 100
Oh! In case you didn’t know of this trick: You can enable stable care every other day. When you buy it for one day, it actually gives you two: the day you buy it on, and the following one. That way you can save some more SC! I would like stable care to be cheaper though, haha.

yeah, in your situation it’s better to just buy vet care when you do log on, or not if the speed isn’t an issue. I sometimes do that whenever I start being active once in a while, so that I have one fast horse while the others “recover”.

They are listening half way , but I worry because I'm just logging only twice a month mostly there well be one extra login this month just to do stable care only
It's so sad that this is the state of the game. I hadn't logged in over a six weeks. When I did I finished all the quests, it took me around 30 minutes. It was kinda depressing.
I don't even care for my horses or do Stable Care at this point because there is really no point if I'm never online. When I come online to train (which is rare at this point, I have nothing else to do I'm level 21), I don't even care for the horse I'm training because there isn't any point if I'm going to stay on for about a week!

@@robertfoster2574 Yeah, but sometimes I feel they are going to do this roadmap thing and then it's back to releasing more horses... I don't hate the game and hopefully they won't go back to that but they also have a history of releasing main story quests and it takes 20 minutes to do.

I started to strike about 1/4 years ago. But everyone said Im an idiot XD They sh*t the game as ****. They are working on something else - stolle as money as they can, and than they will leave. Maybe they dont shot down the servers, if they are kind. But they will left that game in about a year.

Also a lot of their new horse are rushed and lack in quality meaning they don’t even have a justifiable price. A good example would be the g3 quarter horse vs the new Finn horse. The qh has minimal issues while the Finn horse has weird animations, glitches, and reused animations that people were very clear they didn’t like
I haven't bought star coins for almost a year now. it was hard at first but now its pretty easy. You just need to get through the first 2 weeks. This is now the only way to get change from sso. I highly encourage others to join.

I feel like your opinions are really constructive and straight-forward so it wouldn't be a shame to hear about it from you ;) I myself have been reading through and through and tried to watch videos but haven't found somewhat a deep through analysis. I also found some interesting things people haven't covered at all -
- for example even the first question about SSO's projects doesn't even mention about Project Curie, an upcoming new game project the company is working on and searching for workers. I know it doesn't 100% straight associate with SSO the game itself, but I think answering to the question (What projects does Star Stable have besides the game?) they didn't add it by a purpose because they didn't want players to feel like they are moving on.
i don't play sso a lot anymore... i just watch videos to see what kind of updates they bring out but that was not really much the last couple updates (especially for non star riders wich i am)
i think its good that the commutitie speak up about it

Although, I have to say that I have already drawn a line for myself after buying Lifetime sr and twice on double sc weekend. Then I told myself ~150€ for an online horse game, where the servers will be shut down at some point in the future and you lose everything again, is more than enough expenses. ^^ After all, the money can be better invested, for example in real life merch (not from sso), which nobody can take away from you.
I won't invest any money in this game anymore, others can if they want. I will try to join in on the hashtag campaign though!

Plus About the rune runner in one of your videos It does kinda come with tack but you have to grind reputation with soul riding. I think at like 20,000 points u get the first tack item and you can also get stuff for the rider like a whole set of helmet gloves boots shirt and stuff like that.
These all seem like great ideas to take action. I am hopeful of this week's story quest update.

I totally agree we should have a 200 star coin allowance as I am a person who feels rewarded when I get something I spend a lot of time on. That means I have to wait 2-3 months to get a horse and I can't keep up, they need to focus on quests because even if there are horses there is nothing to do with those horses, I have only logged on a few times this year because of this and I don't think I am alone.
Yea last time I bought sc is when the finnhorse came out now since I'm seeing more bugs etc I'm not giving them anymore money till I see a big change.
The only thing really keeping me play SSO Rn is a club and friends, I’ve been playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons WAYYY more. I find it more fun. SSO used to be fun but then they ruined it. I hope the story quests are actually WORTH me being stuck on level 20 for almost 3 YEARS

I did comment about these investments made by the Nordisk film and it's really cool that you made this video for everyone to see. The quality of the in game graphics and horses went up significantly when millions were invested into Star Stable, making it the main selling point. Personally I knew about Star Stable's existence ever since 2012 but never played it due to awful graphics. I only revisited the game in Jan 2020 right after the release of Tinker horses and I'm probably not alone with this. But the amount of money that you can sink into this game is kind of insane for a kid's game.
Bit off topic but I do hate to see sso youtubers make videos like ''buying all the new horses'' because they are giving guaranteed money to sso no matter what type of giraffes they release. The money usually comes from the videos they make and goes back to sso's pocket in an endless cycle. Some sso youtubers however have evolved to only buy couple of the new horses coming out and not stack on star coins all the time. But the main issue comes back to the community who support these types of youtubers tho.
Honestly this game was amazing for me I first downloaded it when I really wanted a horse but of course living where I did horses where never an option lol I made so many friends on the game many of whom have now quit because of how sso treats their players I still play the game hoping something will change and now that more people are becoming aware I hope some things do change at star stable

Be sure to go any of their SM platforms and tell them why you're not buying. Or send them a message through their Support, the more we tell them, the better the chances that they might start listening. :)
I buy SC once per year, so I can't really participate, but I wish you all best of luck in not buying SC. I understand it can be a hard break of routine, but it's only for a short time and it's for the better of the community. If you can do a full month, great! If you can do two, even better. Try to break this cycle and we may live to see a change.

They bet on young players to spend all their SC for easy content (outfit etc..). Recent clothes recolors have shown that perfectly. Young players won't save SC and will ask their parents to buy more anyway
I have been playing SSO for around 9 years and it breaks my heart to say this but it’s true, they don’t give to F about us players.
But they should rethink this: for example the kitchen nightmares episodes with Gordon Ramsey give a massive point that customers come first for everything else, if you give the customer or SSO players a bad situation, lucky we would stop going on the games. Likely cancel our membership (star rider) so SSO will go busted.
SSO needs to wake the hell up of their money daydreams and focus it on the player, really respond to there player without copying and pasting text.

My sister contacted star stable about the quest “Finding Big Bonny” because Bonny took a field trip into the silo’s floor boards. She sent proof, and they contacted her within 24 hours. All they said was “Our team doesn’t work on weekends, we’ll fix it during the week.” but more ‘copy-pasted.’ No surprise that they haven’t fixed it. Its been 2 weeks.

I never was a person spending too much money in a game, but SSO made me giving them too much money for nothing by now.

Star stable entertainment's poor business choices don't only affect older players, but newer ones. The game is so buggy and outdated that trying to motivate my friends to buy star rider felt like explaining why they should ride a dying horse. Wizard 101 graphics for stone textures next to 4k designer horses contrast a lot, and people notice.
