I can't wait to see you free-cam at House Beneviento. Personally, that is the spoopiest but my favourite part of the hame. And the manor looks really cool too :D
I have to admit, while watching people play RE:8, I was thinking about your Mr. X video and wondering if Lady D works in the same way. Got kind of lucky with who I watched first, though, and realised there's a circuit she does near the save room (I think the one that got interrupted by no door) because person I was watching kept having to go through that stairway she got stuck at, so if you stay by the save room she'll just do laps there.
I remember ducking into the Duke's room after she followed me into the Hall of the Four. I tried waiting for her to leave but her footsteps didn't get farther. I chalked it up to either an audio glitch or her walking back and forth that hallway since she saw me go into Duke's. I eventually just sprinted out of there to the main hall and never turned to look where she was, but now I think what actually happened may have been that hallway door glitch at 7:00
Not only is this video interesting and informative, it also has great subtitles! From someone who’s somewhat hard of hearing, this is really helpful. Thank you!!
She stops pursuing you once you get to the library door so you can get to the mini-boss. But when I played the very hardest difficulty she doesn’t stop. I got hit literally as I entered the library.
in the Wine room (2nd floor main hall) she stays staring at you. thats when she doesnt follow through frames that she doesnt supposed too, like in 5:24
I have been playing it in the hardest difficulty. The ai only has certain areas they will attack. They will follow you out of that area, then walk back which allows you to attack them with them not reacting until they hit the boundary again. So that hiding spot will work in hardcore too.
About 10:25, this reminds me of Jack Baker in Re7. Once you trigger the cutscene in the basement before the Chainsaw duel, he'll despawn from the house until you grab the final key in the boss room.
Good video! Yeah Dimitrescu is pretty much set on the path. If you’re in the main hall part of the castle then she will always roam that area while looking for you. If you’re in Opera hall she will do that instead. However I noticed there are two moments when she is triggered and spawns near you (similar to how Mr.X is triggered once you use Heart Key in RPD and get items needed to proceed to clock tower) : 1) After using rooftop elevator she will always spawn near the entrance of it. I played that section few times and she will always appear there 2) After defeating Cassandra and grabbing a mask, she will always appear in the main hall near the place where you have to put wine bottle to get courtyard key. I always run into her when she is there so I’m pretty sure it is scripted that way so she spawns near the place you get another mask Also about 5:17 it’s because of Daniela bossfight. After you use the key and proceed to the next room, Daniela bossfight is triggered (hence why Lady Dimitrecu can’t enter the room. If she did then she would interfere with Bossfight). However from what I know after you defeat Daniela and some time passes, she will enter that area searching for you (but I didn’t confirm this info by myself. Will have to try doing that during my next runs).

@@mikeamber2528 i thinks the Beneviento is worst part. Short and nothing really happens. I awaited way more. I love the lore of this game. Wish it would have been even deeper
@@handznet For someone's first playthrough, I think House Beneviento is actually brilliant. It's easily the best horror segment in a game that was honestly lacking in a lot of that, especially in the Moreau section. Near perfectly executed psychological horror, in my opinion. Whereas the Village and Castle Dimitrescu focused on simple, atmospheric horror, House Beneviento opted for a genuinely terrifying mind-fuckery experience. I do think that on later playthroughs that area gets repetitive and annoying, but that freaky ass mutated baby still creeps me out. Like I said, fantastic horror right there.
They tried to sprinkle in a little of everything into this game. In a way it's a jack of all trades master of none, but personally I love the way the story is told, not so much the plot itself but all of the details and symbolism and the presentation was fantastic and as a whole it's a great game. It's not RE4 (close to perfect game imo) and it's not "classic" RE but it's one of the best games in the series non the less.
That fact that when she “cuts his head of” and its first person so u only get to see ur self die with no head normally u wont be seeing ur head while play so they just made Ethan with no head
What was the mechanism for her not entering the Merchant's little room with the save point and the labyrinth? Does she avoid going in there because of the Merchant, or is it because it's marked safe because of the save point? The first time I realized she wouldn't come in there after me, I turned around and looked at the merchant and literally said out loud "She's not coming in here because YOU'RE in here isn't she??" and proceeded to imagine what the situation or relationship there could have been.
Dude, thank you so much! I never knew if you open the coffin but did NOT take the dagger she despawns. Now I can get everything out of the castle without having to worry about her on village of the shadows difficulty.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for having smoother camera movement than other channels that do this kind of behind the scenes. It significantly more entertaining and enjoyable to watch.
Thanks for going so in-depth with all this, Slippy. Finding that you can hide in plain sight from Lady D was pretty funny. I'm sure it's been suggested, but what happens to Moreau's upper body when his mutated form closes its mouth? I assume the devs move him deeper into the body rather than shrinking or vanishing him. And what about Angie after stabbing her in the boss fight? Does she fly just off screen and warp to her next spot, or does she actually fly there? On the note of dolls, when do they spawn in to attack Ethan if he takes too long to find Angie? Last one: given Donna's face being covered except for when she's dead, does her face animate when she speaks? We've seen that she does indeed have a face under her veil, and I believe she has one line while on screen, just before the fight with Angie.
Wow that explains it! I was getting chased by Lady Dimitrescu around the main hall and I ran into the Duke's room to see what would happen. I heard her walking around and I heard her get stuck around that door in the corridor that didn't spawn in! It was constant footsteps just in that one spot until I came back out.
i love watching your series! It give us a peak behind the curtain on how the game is running. it really entertaining and informative! *sorry for bad english
It’s interesting to see how she follows a set path while searching, but during my playthrough, she had me trapped in the opera house because she was walking round the outskirts of the garden and stay there, instead of follow me in.

I can understand Lady D's AI since shes's barely in the game (and considering the game was already going through some tough times I guess it would've made things worse), but yeah, Nemesis' AI I felt like was a huge waste of opportunity
I love knowing this exists, but I also feel a little sad that the fantasy of her actively hunting you isn't as terrifying once remembering all the technically illusionary games going on. I get why it can't even begin to be that way, but at the same time. It'd be so heart-thumping to know outside of that one safe room, she will be roaming the castle scowering for you in unpredictable ways. One day we'll get to a point where a character like that can exist in a game and burst through walls after you. For now, that fantasy is just that, a fantasy. v.v

I got hit literally as I entered the library.
in the Wine room (2nd floor main hall) she stays staring at you. thats when she doesnt follow through frames that she doesnt supposed too, like in 5:24
5:24 this can happen when you stand near the wine room and the duke room as well, I assume it occurs in every rooms she can't enter.
I somehow went from listening to old japanese city pop to looking at a sort of "behind the scenes" video for villains in games....
and I'm loving it.
I have been playing it in the hardest difficulty. The ai only has certain areas they will attack. They will follow you out of that area, then walk back which allows you to attack them with them not reacting until they hit the boundary again. So that hiding spot will work in hardcore too.
Beyoncé trying to find Sia after she escaped the basement
So wait she disappears entirely off the map after you open the coffin? Does that let you roam the castle no problems before getting the dagger??
U can try that
Yes, once you get to coffin area, she's gone and you can explore the castle freely and get what you need to survive
@@Monotail_Razuin AWESOME!! Thank you for letting me know I really appreciate it!!
@@Monotail_Razuin u can also do this to complete the “hooligan” achievement
Yes, I tried it for myself and didn’t see her at all. Some random enemies may have spawned but she wasn’t patrolling anymore.
I was hoping that this was gonna be made :3
Nice profile pic where do you get that?
@@unknownyuserishy8335 looks self drawn
About 10:25, this reminds me of Jack Baker in Re7.
Once you trigger the cutscene in the basement before the Chainsaw duel, he'll despawn from the house until you grab the final key in the boss room.
when i first got to that bit after she grabbed Ethan and bashed him through the floor, i thought she was spanking him like a naughty boy 🤣
If only..
Lady D walking through a wall gives me mad Hogwarts vibes.
Ethan’s fearful panting always gives me anxiety, even in these experiments.
Good video!
Yeah Dimitrescu is pretty much set on the path. If you’re in the main hall part of the castle then she will always roam that area while looking for you. If you’re in Opera hall she will do that instead. However I noticed there are two moments when she is triggered and spawns near you (similar to how Mr.X is triggered once you use Heart Key in RPD and get items needed to proceed to clock tower) :
1) After using rooftop elevator she will always spawn near the entrance of it. I played that section few times and she will always appear there
2) After defeating Cassandra and grabbing a mask, she will always appear in the main hall near the place where you have to put wine bottle to get courtyard key. I always run into her when she is there so I’m pretty sure it is scripted that way so she spawns near the place you get another mask
Also about 5:17 it’s because of Daniela bossfight.
3:35 is so creepy!! Tracking u even behind closed doors! Her intense killer stare then jerking shoulders. Just imagine there's such a thing watching us all from behind a closed door. 😟
She was jorkin it bro
When I was a kid, I had these recurring nightmares of tall women with big crazy hair or hats running up and down wooden stair cases after me. It was pretty terrifying. I wonder if someone else had these same nightmares and that was the inspiration behind this character…because there’s nothing else really that scary about her.
I can fix her - the internet
It just so happens that there's a japanese folk tale about a figure like that called Hachishakusama
3:22 her eyes says it all, well.. she really loves her daughters
The castle is easily the best part of the game for me. It all tapers off from there in my opinion but it’s still good. House Beneviento is a masterpiece too. I just think there were so many villains and two of them was properly characterized. (Alcina and Heisenberg)
I feel like the Moreau section was the weakest but even that had its bright spots. The boss fight with Moreau is one of the best in the game and is classic resi
Baby monster was masterful. Scared the shit out of me.
5:33: She's just standing there....
MENACINGLY!
I wonder how Ethan feels about ruining so many nice clothes
4:20 got those spencer mansion angles lol
5:30 She's just standing there... MENACINGLY!
Always fun learning the little things, including the surprising hiding spot.
That fact that when she “cuts his head of” and its first person so u only get to see ur self die with no head normally u wont be seeing ur head while play so they just made
Ethan with no head
Lady D: “Bring me his head!”
Ethan: you can have all of my heads
I love how everything works, the game will only render and go fancy to only what the player can actually see.
I remember saying "Oh Shit" out loud at exactly the same time as the character on my first playthrough. Made me laugh after it was done!
5:23 "Damn you man thing! You found my only weakness.. That particular corner"
Yo I never seen Nemmy do that flying into the heavens part XD
2:49 she has mouth Movements Despite never seeing her in this scene
This was super interesting, and obviously all the Lady D shots were appreciated :-D
That shot at 9:57 though :-O
Not as impressive as Mr X he literally wanders the police station hunting you. that is much more terrifying
really like these kinds of videos, it really shows just how much works goes into a game and designing something unique and special
Amazing character, all the characters in Village are just so good
The library corner is just an Anti-Dimitrescu circle Ethan drew in the dirt to fend off her attacks
i love watching your series! It give us a peak behind the curtain on how the game is running. it really entertaining and informative!
*sorry for bad english
Not bad at all 👍🏻

Ooh yeah I was waiting for this video thank you 🔥🔥
Let's be honest, this video is just an excuse for him to watch Lady Dimitrescu for hours on end.
It’s interesting to see how she follows a set path while searching, but during my playthrough, she had me trapped in the opera house because she was walking round the outskirts of the garden and stay there, instead of follow me in.
2:48 "Because I will hunt you and I will break you"
Says it like she didn't break
Not gonna lie:At 2:28 when you show the scene, when you sped it up as Lady D bangs Ethan through the door I laughed so hard, especially because headless Ethan looks like a dummy doll being rocked!😂
Kinda sad how "revolutionary" Mr. X and the way he work hunting down the player the entire time (unless you go down the Elevator under the statue), and then Nemesis & Lady Dimitrescu are way below Mr. X... Like, I hate how Nemmy and D (and the Bakers) are scripted and completely downgraded.... Mr. X is the big boss!
I can understand Lady D's AI since shes's barely in the game (and considering the game was already going through some tough times I guess it would've made things worse), but yeah, Nemesis' AI I felt like was a huge waste of opportunity
Jack was scripted? I honestly couldn't tell, he felt like he was always on my tail when going through the house, other than the morgue part ofc.
@@TheBluePhantom I believe he was, I could be wrong though.
@@spideymatt93 Jack's movement was in fact not scripted. His path is random.
@ You're right. My most recent playthrough verified that.
Ethan's constant heavy breathing throughout most of the video even when you're talking really adds to the viewer experience I must say.
0:44 lady dimitrescu’s face after looking at the moutains of r34 videos on her
6:57 *Step-Ethan, I'm stuck*
I love knowing this exists, but I also feel a little sad that the fantasy of her actively hunting you isn't as terrifying once remembering all the technically illusionary games going on. I get why it can't even begin to be that way, but at the same time. It'd be so heart-thumping to know outside of that one safe room, she will be roaming the castle scowering for you in unpredictable ways. One day we'll get to a point where a character like that can exist in a game and burst through walls after you. For now, that fantasy is just that, a fantasy. v.v
“Ahh Lady Dimitrescu! Beautiful even in the frozen-off camera pose!!”
