I managed to do something similar in my t34 to a sta1 I shot him he drove off and I turned to kill one of his teammates. After killing his teammate I realized that he wasnt there and turned around. The sta1 drove around the corner of the factory and my gun was already pre-aimed at his location.
t34 with a damaged engine. No way I was going to be able to react to him so luckily I thought he was going to try and flank me and he did exactly that.
Such a great feeling when you pull off a play like that.

@@wargamingsupernoob So the Japanese soldier was yelling in English? Or did the Marine speak Japanese? Also, a Marine is a U.S. Marine - A U.S. Soldier is in the Army...
The story sounds made up regardless, mostly due to the language barrier - if the Marine was a terp, he'd likely be in the rear echelon until the fighting was over, because you don't want to waste your interpreters in close quarters combat if you can avoid it; and it would have to be pretty damn close if they could hear and reply to each other over the roar of combat.

A generally good fight in the end. Well done to mr Doom Turtle on winning it, and a really good attempt with a simple and effective plan from the enemy, enforcing a crossfire with the tough gun covering, and the heavy tanks doing the capping.
And that T 43 trying to jump on him in the end was a desperate, but good attempt. Unfortunate that they just slipped off the hill instead.

@@thelastholdout What is wrong with a draw? Never understood the aversion of modern sports regarding draws.

@@Ned-Ryerson I wasn't really advocating one way or another. However, in WOT a draw counts as a loss for everyone on both teams, which results in much lower rewards.

thanks, it was one of my first games in the T95 and I was shaking with adrenaline afterwards. I even managed to get Alliance mission 15 and TD mission 15 with honors for the T-55A in this game, after trying to get it with my Jpz E100/Deathstar/Badger.... I ain't complaining though

I had two or three great uncles at D-Day, one of which was a medic. He died when I was very little, so I unfortunately don't remember him other than his name: Uncle Bunk.

T95 serving as a recon vehicle. Well with the TOG out of the game, somebody must step up in the Super Heavy Division. It does have a great hunter-killer mode though. Surviving does give one a Darwinian advantage, like the Tortoise, (the animal). Dinosaurs may have been faster but where are they now? Great stuff

If you're tier 7 or 8, that 400 alpha gun with 250 pen and great DPM is every bit as terrifying as the big gun. You want the big gun for hunting Mauses.

it doesn't mater how big your gun is or your speed, situational awareness won the game, along w/ greed from the 2 artillery.
I look forward to your recreation of A Bridge Too Far. Too bad that you didn't start the trip today in Normandy, which likely would have felt like The Longest Day considering your luck at traveling and the public transportation that has it in for you

To be fair to that T-43 he was a tier 7 in tier 9 and definitely not on a map which favoured him. His options were limited so he played bait.
It worked it stopped the enemy tank getting across. It was a thankless job though

Ooh! Welcome to the Netherlands in advance! Do try the cheese. (we also have liquorice). Traffic will be hell. Just back off a little, give yourself a little bit more space on the freeway, hang back and don't engage in the lunatic frenzy that is Dutch traffic. Of course, operation Market Garden didn't go as they hoped. It was the radio's that didn't work, the narrow one lane road leading up to Arnhem, the suspected Germans in the forest beyond the Groesbeek heights that actually weren't there (until day 3), the weather in England, and the totally unexpected Field Marshall Model's SS Panzers that were reported and dismissed before hand. The old bridge at Arnhem was taken down long ago. So long ago that it already wasn't there when they filmed 'A bridge too far'. They filmed that at Deventer, which at the time still had a similar style bridge over the river IJssel. The tank in the movie wasn't a real PzIV (obviously), it was a Leopard from the Dutch army wearing a PzIV-ish frok. If you look carefully you can see the Dutch unit markings on the back of the tank. For tanks I guess the Overloon war museum is the place to visit, Rita's been there, ask her. There's also the National Militairy Museum (nnm.nl) at Soesterberg which has become what it is from what used to be the old airforce museum. The old airforce museum used to have an old F104 Starfighter angled on a stand along side of the highway, which was quite impressive as a kid. Soesterberg hosts what used to be the original Dutch airbase (1918), which is now no longer an air base but still a militairy something of which I can't disclose it's nature for national security reasons. And I suppose if you're near Soesterberg anyway that maybe the Cavalery museum at Amersfoort (really close by) could be on your list (they have some tanks). It's not big, but if you're there already... If all else fails there's Amersfoort Zoo right next door.
