It wasn't a blind shot from the bishop. Bishop shells just fly that slow - he pulled the trigger when menthel was still spotted and assumed he would keep moving forwards
Yeah. He was likely still spotted when he stopped reversing and started driving forward, Bishop fired and well his route was a predictable one so good lead from the Bishop.
There is always the thought he has that skill that keeps a tank spotted for an extra 2-3 seconds..... Really useful on arti..... Just saying...... 😁 The other option is he is cheating 🤔
That was very intense and entertaining match to watch. Kudos to the arty players on both teams for providing great fire support. Also kudos to the M4 Sherman and StuG players. A good game well played. Heck, that match was so great it almost made me re-install WoT to play it again..almost.
Has there ever been a game with such a loyal following of ex-players who think it sucks just a little too much to be worth their time? Yeah, I nearly wrote your comment. I promised myself I would not reinstall until they got rid of teir -2 match making., or at least let me choose to not be involved in t-2/t+2 games.

Yeah I used to re-install WOT from time to time,got into a few games of the new matchmaker just to remind myself why I had quit the game in the first place.
Thane's Games I can relate. I took a year and a half hiatus from the game and ironically it was warships that got me back to playing tanks as well. The playerbase hasn’t gotten any better so being even halfway decent means you can really put up some comical numbers.

@10:43, as an ex Bishop player (I may have played an unhealthy amount in that cute toy), that 'blind' shot actually seemed more calculated than 'pure dumb luck' has it. Remember possible positions a Bishop players must get into to shoot. I'm thinking the Bishop had enough information about the M4 and could plan the shot accordingly. Because it has to be so close to get a shot off like this.

Yeah TDs that retreat back to a good defensive position on a losing team can turn the game around. 3 TDs on the enemy team yesterday mopped the floor with my team on Sand River. I was trying to warn them not to rush mid but we had a 2-1 ratio and those TDs ate our tanks alive.
There was a time when you could platoon with three arties. You should have seen the screaming the enemy team did when we each took out our leFH. We'd spread across the map and there was almost nowhere they could go where we couldn't hit them.
This was a good one. In so many of these replay reviews it all seems to come down to the submitting players performance, but in this one it really felt like he was actually on a team with team mates all working towards a common goal, with their coordinated participation both crucial and actually *present*.
Since I dont see it, I feel the need to say it: Huge kudos to the Stug! Didn't go very far, yes he didn't, he is a sneaky TD. Fell back when it was necessary, held the other flank and protected the arty like a champ! He was for sure a great reasurance for Menthel to have him holding the other side succesfully.
I believe the gold has some use on the derp Sherman in the right situation. I only carry 5 rounds myself. But I do enjoy it because the heat archs due to the howitzer. Helps against angled armor at a distances
I used to carry five rounds of premium ammo on my Sherman Jumbo with 105mm gun but it was a waste of time. Most of the shots do nothing, and considering that I only used it when I needed it the most that's not good. I think I only ever saw one shot penetrate, and that was against the flat side of an O-I. Just use HE, at least it does *some* damage.

I don't actually have my derp shermans anymore, but when I did I carried a few heat shells, don't remember exactly how many, but for the 105 derps you don't use them against heavy armor, you use them against medium armor. HE shells are best for heavy and light armor, but for things like t34s, cromwells, etc that is when the heat is most useful. edit: or also the rears of high tier heavies, it can be useful to be able to pen those as well.
Really let's you know what the vehicles that fill most of our garages are capable of. Inspiring, and helps you like them better whilst grinding higher.
I love that Jingles pronounces Grille as "Gorilla." It makes you think of something large and mighty, and then it clears the corner and, well... Betcha the Bishop crew reacted like they saw a gorilla, though!
I have my own Sherman on My WOTBlitz... and I absolutely adore it!!! Even though some of my games on it weren't that great but when it does... I always savor the moment!!! Thank you for this wonderful replay oh Mighty Overlord!!! :-)
I usually use the derp gun on the wolverine now, but m4 or wolv, both have a use for heat. It's guaranteed to do a big chunk to most things if you hit flush.
The m4 was my original favorite tank wheni first started playing. I didn't care about the higher tiers. I just wanted to play. Going up against kv2 and the old kv1-s was suicidal, but I still managed with the derp gun. When I got the jumbo, being able to bounce shots made it even more fun. Sometimes I wish wargaming would release a world of tanks classic. You know, the game that originally drew people to world of tanks. Possibly something prior to patch .5. Somewhere prior to the HE armor penetration fixes.
The "blind" bishop shot wasnt actually all that blind. When the T1 Heavy died, our M4 will be spotted for round about 10 more seconds. If you count from when the T1 dies to the Bishop hitting the M4 it is around 11 seconds. The bishop probably fired the second the M4 went unspotted. :)
When you're using that rock that Menthel was hiding behind for most of this game, you don't have to hug it. You can back up far behind the rock--even as far as the redline--and shoot through the bush. Everyone knows that bush and rock, people will click it when they start taking fire from that direction, and arty will begin blind firing it. But they'll assume you're immediately behind the rock or the bush, so that's where they'll shoot. Meanwhile you're sitting much further back, watching the shots rain down in front of you, hitting nothing but dirt. If you have someone to spot for you, you really don't need to get anywhere near the bush. If you have to spot for yourself you can still pull this off, but it involves more risk.
You know for sheer fun my M4 with its derp gun is my favourite tank. Lots of fun, great damage for its tier T5 i can play on that all day. Keep yer fancy autoloader AMX 50 b's TX. T5 derp is where the real fun is. :D
Jingles that one in a million shot from the enemy Bishop was not so much one in a million. That was a seriously good Bishop player because from his point of view the M4 was intent in coming up the valley and he would be next, so a shot worth taking. Anticipating that the M4 player, waiting to lose spotting and where they might be was masterful.
The last time i played this game was around 6 years ago(i played on the xbox360). i had the E-100 the waffletraktordethshed(when it had a 6 shot mag) and the T-62. I still had 10x more fun the the M4 with the 105 than all of those tanks combined. best tank in the game at that time IMO.
My favorite tank/gun combination. You don't need the HEAT and when you pen it is amazing, one-shoting lower tiers with ease and lightly armored TDs like the T67.

SO high they were 'sailin' at the time Hitler was coming to power!! Epic!
Although I'm not too big of a fan of the M4 Sherman, I will say that it's a fairly good tank. While grinding for the Patton, I ended up 3 marking mine with the derp.
Still my favorite tank to play! Haha, I loved that derp gun! Plus you got the most bang for your buck playing it. You got a ton of credits & XP and it was so cheap to repair if you got destroyed.
I remember the death bowl map you're talking about, it was a blasted stupid map that was very heavily slanted towards quick AC carriers, very low tier derp gun mobiles, and the Pz. 2 J (especially since if you got that map in the 2J you were top tier, and fuck all at its tier and lower could pen it). Iirc that artillery (the premium Fenchy that is really a rebuilt Char 2b) is too high of a level to play on it, now its smaller TD cousin (FCM Pk40) sure as hell wasn't too high of a level and with nocs and net made for some really quick and easy spotter badges and some very interesting bloodbaths before any tanks even touched the rubbled town.
Before I watch the video I must say that since I Googled the ‘fun new cooking method’ Jingles mentioned yesterday, now all the ads I ever get are cooking ads Damn u jingles

Jingles it is entirely possible that the T1 had the crew skill that extended the duration of a tank's location being reported a few seconds. Not likely but it is possible.
19 times out of 20, in the M4 Sherman and also the Pz IV H both armed with the 105mm howitzer, you are better off firing only HE. However, the reason I still recommend carrying a few HEAT rounds is for one reason: KV-1s, and all of the variants of them. You are going to meet a lot of KV-1s when playing at Tier-V, and HE will never penetrate anywhere on those tanks, and it takes a LOT of HE shells to chip down a KV. HEAT, however, will punch through the hull armor anywhere on the KV-1, if you don't hit the tracks.
it is my favorite tank of the game I have been on it for five years I got 14 kills in one battle but that was way before you get stars on your Barrel and this is still my favorite tank it is my go-to tank
That "blind" shot by the Bishop wasn't blind. You only disappear from the enemies radar after 10 seconds. He was definitely still spotted when he started going forward again. He should have waited for a few more seconds. He also drove in a very predictable way when he came around that rock and made it quite easy for the Bishop to hit him.
Well the m4 is not a brawler and has good view range and decent camo rating for its tier. Can out spot most tanks and deal somewhat reliable damage. Low hp and poor armour mean you can't take too many return fire shots at all
0:57 That's the reason why I like the Panzer IV better, because itz 105 derp has AP along with HEAT. And frankly half of the time, HEAT lets you down, because you either hit a fence, spaced armour, or the suspension more often than not :^/
When you mentioned that the STUG would go no further than the rock, I thought he was going to be mostly useless, but damn did he ever shack up well with the artie.

That Grille is a rare breed of arty player
This was really good teamplay from the arty in menthel´s team.
Don't forget the STUG being surprisingly useful for fire support, and acting as a buffer against the Panzer 4 and Wildcat.
You made it seem like the friendly stug was going to be a useless teammate at the start, but it turns out he was actually pretty useful.
Him retreating was also a good call, if you are honest. If he stayed up front, he would have been slaughtered after getting spotted.

Lesson learned a while ago. Always use the good auto fire extinguisher, well worth the cost. If we chose to use a fire extinguisher that is.

I like this tank setup. The shell velocity is so slow you can pitch shots over hills at extreme range.

Great video. I often find that HE ammo is much better than firing premium. I don't think enough people realize that even though it's much cheaper.

M4 with derp was one of my favorite tanks.
I loved my easy 8 with derp. Probably my favorite tank, because it wasn't a broken POS or uber-tank. Just a tank.
You know you are getting old when you struggle to find a good title for your videos.... lucky for us, our Mighty Overlord is good at it so no harm done!
Jingles it is entirely possible that the T1 had the crew skill that extended the duration of a tank's location being reported a few seconds. Not likely but it is possible.

Hey jingles, the map you were talking about the valley between two hills is called either province or providence.

19 times out of 20, in the M4 Sherman and also the Pz IV H both armed with the 105mm howitzer, you are better off firing only HE. However, the reason I still recommend carrying a few HEAT rounds is for one reason: KV-1s, and all of the variants of them. You are going to meet a lot of KV-1s when playing at Tier-V, and HE will never penetrate anywhere on those tanks, and it takes a LOT of HE shells to chip down a KV. HEAT, however, will punch through the hull armor anywhere on the KV-1, if you don't hit the tracks.

it is my favorite tank of the game I have been on it for five years I got 14 kills in one battle but that was way before you get stars on your Barrel and this is still my favorite tank it is my go-to tank
That "blind" shot by the Bishop wasn't blind. You only disappear from the enemies radar after 10 seconds. He was definitely still spotted when he started going forward again. He should have waited for a few more seconds. He also drove in a very predictable way when he came around that rock and made it quite easy for the Bishop to hit him.

Hey, if it works, it works. That thing is kinda useless in a brawling situation, so you need to keep your distance.
@@Finwolven I don't think that keeping distance with a 0.55 gun is really a good idea but w/e.
Well the m4 is not a brawler and has good view range and decent camo rating for its tier. Can out spot most tanks and deal somewhat reliable damage.
Low hp and poor armour mean you can't take too many return fire shots at all

0:57 That's the reason why I like the Panzer IV better, because itz 105 derp has AP along with HEAT. And frankly half of the time, HEAT lets you down, because you either hit a fence, spaced armour, or the suspension more often than not :^/

This is one of the few tanks i actually enjoyed playing. The AMX ELC and the Hellcat were other great ones
you remain spotted for 10 sec after the last spotter dies, so that wasnt as great a blind shot by the bishop.
