And please get your camera closer with better light to the item when you are showing details. 5 feet away with a small item (sunglasses) is too far to see detail. Another way to tell if your Oakley's are fake is to literally smell them. Yes you can smell a fake pair of Oakley's. Some fake ones have a really strong plastic chemical smell similar to paint thinner to them. A real big dead giveaway if you smell it. And another detail is that all authentic Oakley's have the model name of the frame on the inside left temple arm of the glasses (EG: Holbrook, EVZero, Radar EV, Sutro, Etc.). If it is not there on the inside left temple arm, they are most likely fake.

On the Oakley website I saw the square Oakley logo on the glasses, not so oval how you guys mentioned on the video. So not sure if the logo is the best way to tel
HI! They were speaking to the logo shape on the Turbine frame specifically. Other models like the Gascan can have a square-shaped logo, but the Turbine will always have the oval shape on the temple.
Love the oakley frames I have a fat head and have never owned a comfortable pair of sunglasses until these lol still buying the cheep knock off lenses for them tho
I bought an Oakley eyewear frame for near about $79 from an authentic seller in India but I don't have microfiber cloth and not so big label so, should I worry or not?
Damn my old turbines I bought were fake huh. They actually lasted 3 years and the replacement lens worked perfectly. Still have through long-boarding and having them crushed by nephews...so the knockoffs must have been pretty close to the original, I almost prefer them over my real pair of Oakley’s turbine rotor. Granted only one of the five pairs of Oakley’s I bought online were fake so it’s a bummer but strangely I’m not not super mad. Live and learn
I work at Oakley and The first round of turbines were released with square O-icons where as for later releases were oval o-icons as you see. Most of the time they cannot get the lenses dimensions right so if the authentic lenses fit the frames good, that most likely means your turbines are real. Its just a first generation of turbines.
It’s pretty common that they will be in just a pouch if you didn’t get authentic Oakley prescription lenses. It’s because when the practice buys the frames from Oakley in non-prescription, that’s how they send them. Then the practice send the glasses to their lab and provides to you only what they received from Oakley
Hi! I got my Oakley Flak 2.0 XL customs today and I got them directly from Oakleys website. When I looked at the lens, I noticed that it didn’t have the etched “PRIZM P” in the lens. Overall they seem great quality and I know they are polarized. I can see the contrast enhancement so I think it has prism. Do you know why they don’t have the etched prizm p? Do you think they are authentic?
If you purchased them directly from Oakley.com they are authentic. Their optical lab seems to go through phases of lens etchings and it is not always consistent from what we have seen.
@@howtheheliru Some will depending on the quality of the replica. Not all Oakley frames are made in the USA so you end up having to do alittle research on each frame
I never had Oakley. I want to buy Deadbolt. I look the prices on Oakley page the are 350€, and i find on other for 200€. I order this for 200€ and they come only i karton box with the bag. Is that normal? No hard box. And i send they back. How i will know the are legit or not? Tnx
Hello! Most Oakley sunglass models come equipped with a microfiber bag that doubles as a cleaning cloth, but not a hard case. There are definitely some fake Oakley frames out there, but check out the link below for tips on how to spot the fakes! 👉ua-cam.com/video/2dcBYCUFSOQ/v-deo.html
Thanks helped me out. Bought a pair online. After watching this I now know they are fake. A lot of fakes on ebay. Nearly look legit. This recent pair nearly fooled me until I watched this video. Thanks heaps for this video. I think I'll just order from the Oakley Australia website to be safe and know hat I am actually going to get.
What about customs being resold on ebay? How do we know if they are real? I am told they don't have the SKU printed on them, the Prizm on the lens (so you can get custom laser etching) nor the sticker on the box...
Hmmm tough to say without an image to reference. Send some photos of the product to info@sportrx.com and a licensed optician will review the images and get back to you asap with an answer!

Hi there! If you send a few photos of the frames to info@sportrx.com an optician will review the images and get back to you with an answer regarding whether they appear to be knockoffs or authentic frames. 👍
Hello! We would need to check the frame and bevel to make sure it will hold a prescription lens, BUT if they are indeed fake, they won't likely pair with the same size lens as it's official counterpart, as Fake Oakleys usually do not have the same size specs. Give us a call or send a photo of your frames to info@sportrx.com for more assistance! 877.289.2999 🙌
The sentiment is a little extreme for us, but thanks for commenting! We would recommend some quality brands before going to knock offs because the chance of knock offs standing up to any sort of wear and tear is unlikely. Maybe start with Suncloud for a range of great styles for a very reasonable price! www.sportrx.com/shopby/brand-sun_cloud.html
Dude good video I might of bought a pair of I think fake gas cans today lol i knew they were thou and called the guy on it I had my real worn out ones with me and lots of stuff was off mainly the weight and hinge movement
Thanks. Just one suggestion: it would be better if you change some lighting in your studio because it's not clearly seen some details of black eyeglasses over the black t-shirt background. :) Thanks.
My dog chewed up my oaklys sun glass and my wife bought a new one for me. I instantly new it was fake only because I have had mine for so long. I don't think some one that is new to the brand would ever guessed. They are really good fakes and ironically fits my face better then the real oaklys, but I rather have my old oaklys.
Oh dang, sorry to hear that Eric! If you would like our opticians to verify the authenticity of your frame, send a few photos to info@sportrx.com, and they'll review the images and get back to you with an answer!
The density of the frame and lens material will generally give it away. The fake frames will feel lighter and flimsy as well as the lenses. Real ones although lightweight in nature have a more quality build to them and you can tell by the touch and feel the density and smoothness of the frame and with the lenses they have a quality sturdiness to them when you gently tap on them. You get what you pay for!
I’ve seen the real box real bag real paperwork yet the glasses were fake. I has a surefire m600 light that I sent to surefire. The only way the manufacturer knew it was a fake was the serial number and led when they took the light apart. The box it came in was a 100% perfect copy of the original.
Oh snap so you telling me these sellers are buying the orginal boxes now and selling the fake glasses. Thanks for your post bro, im only gonna buy my oakleys from the store now
Are you guys for real... Are you saying that if you spend £200 the little bag is better quality than the ones you get for £15 and the box is different too
It's more that the better quality bag is indicative of the better quality frame. The bag can be tangential evidence of the more important thing, which is the frame quality. Thanks for watching!
That is a great question and a big reason that we wanted to make this video! You simply can't be sure when you're buying them. There are ways you can get them tested if your local optician has a spectrometer, but you're rolling the dice there. Consider that fact that if they're trying to trick you into thinking they're authentic Oakley's, why would they care to spend more money to make sure they are also protecting your eyes from UV exposure?
Other then the giant label on the box there are not any blatantly obvious problems without a side by side exam. Thicker cord? Really. So for the best value buy a knockoff pair then go to the Oakley website and buy original Oakley lens. I get all the other little differences but really never saw painted frames ever. lol
For $200 I can buy at least 10 pair of the knockoffs in the last me for years and years and you can't tell the difference The store couldn't tell the difference when I show them they couldn't believe it
i have bought my second oakley,i have used so many sunglasses..so far the oakleys are the best in my opinion HDO technology is great..i had jupiter squared switched now to turbine rotor!!
Real Oakley’s are the only way in the sun glasses world. but I wish y’all had more styles and brought back some of the old styles too and mixed it all and selled it all old tint colors in the lens too and different frame colors too .
It may be possible, though it's generally acknowledged that fake brand-name models are of lower quality in several ways compared to certified brand name frames. One example has to do with the bevel, which holds the lens in place. Warping can occur with fake frames due to their use of low-quality plastics and other materials. The result is lenses falling out the frame or the frame becoming damaged during the lens installation process. Food for thought. Hope this helps!
Do not trust Amazon. So many fake products. Not just sunglasses. Yes, you can get genuine Oakleys from Amazon; try to verify that the seller is a legitimate Oakley dealer.
I remember my first pair of oakleys. Dropped $200 on them at the mall. I kept getting asked if they were real or fake. Totally not worth $200 if people can't tell they are expensive.
It ultimately comes down to the retailer. You can usually get a sense of whether an online retailer is legitimate or not. A good thing to note is their return policy. SportRx only works with authentic certified brands like Oakley, Maui Jim, & WileyX among others. You can return an item for literally any reason within 45 days of purchase for exchange or full refund, no fees at all. 👉 www.sportrx.com/return-policy

Lost the left temple arm off my oakley radar. Do they sell the replacement part?
Hi there! Oakley does not sell replacement temple arms for that frame.
Because the customer service sucks
Look on eBay?
Just saved me from getting a fake pair! They looked and felt legit! I asked to see the box and knew instantly.
Same these ebay sellers selling fakes
Haha glad we could help Rhyder!
Love the oakley frames I have a fat head and have never owned a comfortable pair of sunglasses until these lol still buying the cheep knock off lenses for them tho
I'm grateful to you for your help!
Thanks for tuning in!
What site did you get the 12.00 ones from
I bought an Oakley eyewear frame for near about $79 from an authentic seller in India but I don't have microfiber cloth and not so big label so, should I worry or not?
If you're worrying about whether it's real or not, then yes. The price you paid is enough proof.
@@SuperKatayama good to know man 😎
What site for 12 dollars for oakleys
I bought Oakley's from my optometrist no box just glasses in an Oakley's pouch. Are they fake?
It’s pretty common that they will be in just a pouch if you didn’t get authentic Oakley prescription lenses. It’s because when the practice buys the frames from Oakley in non-prescription, that’s how they send them. Then the practice send the glasses to their lab and provides to you only what they received from Oakley
The best thing to do is to get your sun glasses at the Oakley store or Macy's places that you know sell real Oakley's.
Or at SportRx!
@@sportrxeyewear yeah that to.
Wondering about the red assembled in USA tag located at the hinge or at the end of the arm.Are these real and where should that tag be?Thanks.
Hi there! There is no specific spot, it can located at the hinge or bottom on the right temple. Thanks for reaching out!
@@sportrxeyewear sorry maybe my question was worded wrong. Let me try again. Will fake oakleys have the assembled in USA tag or not? Thanks
@@howtheheliru Some will depending on the quality of the replica. Not all Oakley frames are made in the USA so you end up having to do alittle research on each frame
@@robertwindom9095 thanks, I landed on the Holston midnight collection. Awesome!
@@howtheheliru also the red tag is new. None of my authentic Oakley's have that. But they're all 3 years or older

We are happy to help! Thanks for checking out our video!
I was just about to buy some on eBay , they go
For 65 ... not bad but i figured something was up
@@Wcoast408 eBay is known for fake stuff. Amazon has some fake stuff too.
Good looking out i was about to buy some sutro off ebay too but they got me thinking differently now
What about customs being resold on ebay? How do we know if they are real? I am told they don't have the SKU printed on them, the Prizm on the lens (so you can get custom laser etching) nor the sticker on the box...
Hmmm tough to say without an image to reference. Send some photos of the product to info@sportrx.com and a licensed optician will review the images and get back to you asap with an answer!
u 2 have me very worried. i just got my prescription oakley split shots with no box , no paperwork at all, no case, no fiber cloth and im not sure if these are real or not. obtained from local ''eye doctor'' anyone please chime in and let me know if ive been ripped off or not. many thanks for some help.
Hi there! If you send a few photos of the frames to info@sportrx.com an optician will review the images and get back to you with an answer regarding whether they appear to be knockoffs or authentic frames. 👍
I bought oakley eyeglass worth of 7k.. 4k for frame and 3k for lense. How should i know if it is real?
Lol, your a fool
Hello bought a pair of Oakley Holbrooks and everything seems real except for one thing which is the warranty card that says... you guessed it
Theu are a legit pair everything in it is Oakley except that little card that says Denver...
Hi guys. Can you tell me what a real certificate of authenticity should look like, more or less?
Hi there! It will be quite lengthy as you can see in the video and should contain all the product specifications and return policy information.
I bought a pair of fake oakleys. Would a new set of real lenses fit on the frame?
Cant. See glasses against black shirt
Why some people would buy foakley? If you like regular sunglasses that’s on you, for me I love the real Oakley, Oakley for life
We agree! The difference is quality is very obvious.
Just a tiny thing chaps, when you're showing small detail such as the safety tab on the black box, it's hard to see detail against a black t-shirt!!
Anyone have a website for fake ones that use paypal? And EMS shipping? Because fuck Luxocitca and paying 200% for a peice of plastic
:) Thanks.
Thanks for the feedback! Our video team is on it and have been working to make changes to the lighting.
Dead giveaway is when the nose piece is made of ob-tainium.
I bought Prizm Ruby Polarized Holbrook’s. Can’t wait to get them!
Ooooo! Nice choice! Thanks for tuning in, Dylan!
@@sportrxeyewear I hope theyll work! First pair of polarized and prizm. Nervous about the red tint. We'll find out!
Let us know how they work out for you!
I just got a pair of holbrooks from the oakley store and this one and many others don't have the P for polarized in the lenses.
Hi there! They update the lens markings all the time so I wouldn't sweat it too much.
Well they do have different lenses now. They have standard (no etching), prizm (only prizm etched) and prizm polarised (prizm p etching)
@@bztrain Mine are "prizm daily" polarized and only have prizm written on them but they are awesome.
If you would like our opticians to verify the authenticity of your frame, send a few photos to info@sportrx.com, and they'll review the images and get back to you with an answer!
i seen some jawbreakers on amazon for around $150. would those he foakleys ?
be ***
Honestly, price alone is not a good indicator of authenticity. You can be confident if you’re buying from an authorized dealer, for certain!
I need some foakleys for when I go kayaking. Hate to loose another real pair in the water again.
use sunglasses strap dude
Moral of the story, If you can't tell by the lens alone you overpaid lmao.
12:50 had me dying
Lol ,Tyler is a character! 😂
Very true! Hard to tell from far but once you have them in hand it is pretty obvious.. Thanks for tuning in!
Well . If somebody will scrutinized it like u guys do. Yeah u will know the difference. Other people they will never know. Lol 😂
Sku# Ox8035, whats Oakley model is this?

Do fake oakley have uv protectión?
That is a great question and a big reason that we wanted to make this video! You simply can't be sure when you're buying them. There are ways you can get them tested if your local optician has a spectrometer, but you're rolling the dice there. Consider that fact that if they're trying to trick you into thinking they're authentic Oakley's, why would they care to spend more money to make sure they are also protecting your eyes from UV exposure?
@@sportrxeyewear ua-cam.com/video/_R6dJVs7t_I/v-deo.html
I avoid getting the fakes. Only buy mine for the growing collection at my local sun glass hut or go to Dillard's
Thanks for tuning in and sharing your picks with us!
Real Oakley’s are the only way in the sun glasses world. but I wish y’all had more styles and brought back some of the old styles too and mixed it all and selled it all old tint colors in the lens too and different frame colors too .
NEED HELP, SHOULD I GET OAKLEY OR UVEX 710V
It is a very subjective answer, but it is a resounding *OAKLEY* from us!
Now the real question is will the SportRx lenses still fit in a pair of fake Oakleys. Asking for a friend
What suprises me
I spend $200 + on sunnies and i get a bag to store my sunnies would have liked a case.
Abit tight i would say.
we also have a term for that its "jokealeys",,
OOoo i like that!
Do you trust buying from Amazon
It is often best to buy from an Oakley authentic dealer.
I tried once, I received fake and very cheap glasses. They refunded me though.
Better buying off a real Dealer.
Do not trust Amazon. So many fake products. Not just sunglasses. Yes, you can get genuine Oakleys from Amazon; try to verify that the seller is a legitimate Oakley dealer.
Tall guy doesn't let short guy talk at all 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
lol-Tyler just has so much information to give!
I remember my first pair of oakleys. Dropped $200 on them at the mall. I kept getting asked if they were real or fake. Totally not worth $200 if people can't tell they are expensive.
It may be hard to tell from afar but the overall quality and comfort definitely make a difference to us! Thanks for watching, Thomas!
U don't buy them for people to spot the difference. U buy them for quality
Hi , it’s design in california but it’s made in China?
We cannot specifically say China but I think 'overseas' is accurate.
How come my holbrook sku is oo9244-3056??
You have the 'asian fit' version of the frame so the lenses are just a hair wider than the 55 for the standard fit.
@@sportrxeyewear thank you for the info.
Most of the purchases are online these days. How can a person identify the fake or real, if he do not have a real pair to compare?
It ultimately comes down to the retailer. You can usually get a sense of whether an online retailer is legitimate or not. A good thing to note is their return policy. SportRx only works with authentic certified brands like Oakley, Maui Jim, & WileyX among others. You can return an item for literally any reason within 45 days of purchase for exchange or full refund, no fees at all. 👉 www.sportrx.com/return-policy
