Just bought some fake Ray Bans outdoorsman 2. They look so damn original with all the markings and everything. The letters on the frame look so good that you can not tell if they’re fake or not. However, when you hold them in your hands, you can feel the difference. The box is fake af and everything else looks fake. My whole idea was to replace the lenses for some original RB lenses, because i love the black frame on 62mm and RB doesn’t make them on black, only on 58. Don’t know if they fit or not, but i’ll try to do some Frankenstein RB 😂
If you're not buying a new pair, it can be extremely difficult to notice the differences. I suggest to try to scratch all the white letters with your fingernails, in a fake pair the letters will disappear almost instantly.
my real pair that ive had for years the white lettering as all scratched off over time. i just got a pair of good fakes and the white letters will not scratch off with my fingernail
I got a pair of Ray Ban Wayfarers from a thrift store for a few bucks. They looked good enough, but I felt like something was a bit off. They felt cheap. The plastic seemed like a cheap, matte plastic which I knew wasn't right. At $3 I didn't care though. They looked the part from a distance. At least until the Ray Ban logo wiped off the lense when I was doing regular cleaning. 😂 I got rid of them after that. I knew they were probably fakes from the beginning but that was the last straw. Fast forward to yesterday and I found a pair of authentic vintage Ray Bans in a Goodwill for $3! Couldn't believe it!

I recently bought on Offerup a pair of supposed Ray-Ban Original Wayfarer Classic sunglasses for 60 bucks, new with the box, and in the listing, it showed a receipt of proof of purchase from Sunglass Hut. What was supposed to be my first experience in owning Ray-Ban sunglasses, turned out to be my first taste of owning Fake-Ban's 😅😅. After I received them, it dawned on me the possibility that they were counterfeit, after all, the price was too good to be true. After watching this video, it confirmed my suspicion. But the quality of the counterfeit is top-notch, so is very hard to tell if they are fake, especially for a noob like me.

The most difficult aviators to replicate are the ones with light gradient lenses. They have everything cloned perfectly, however when you test the lenses for UV protection you will find that they won't pass a simple UV test using a hand held UV meter. A significant amount of UV pass thru the lenses. For this reason I won't take a chance with this type of lens from sources on eBay or other 3rd party sellers. I will always buy direct from the source or an authorized dealer for these type of lenses. If you can find a pair of clones that are UV protected then more power to you. Most likely in standard or flash lenses but in my experience the gradient lenses always fail a UV protection test.

I just ordered & received a Ray-Ban Clubmaster RB3016 in 51mm lenses. The weight & quality looks & feels legit, but it has a vintage-looking nose pads. Kind of like a Himalayan pink salt color looking nose pads. I ordered it from Macy’s store in person with a dealer & they had it shipped to my house. It does not have clear nosepads. So are mine fake? It was shipped from Macy’s wear house in Georgia, U.S. They costed me $230.
Hi! More than likely they are not fake, but a local optician should be able to confirm their authenticity, plus you can easily replace the nose pads for a different set at most optical shops.
@@sportrxeyewear Thank you! I actually do prefer the vintage-looking nose pads rather than the clear ones. I can still see the “RB” in the vintage-looking nose pads on my glasses.

My big question is to ask you how I can find these second hand, maybe what is the most trusted retailer of secondhand Ray Bans? If Ray Ban still sold them I wouldn’t be here :). If they made other comfortable glasses for people with giant domes, same. Thank you for the help!
Hello! We unfortunately don't know any authentic retailers for second hand RayBan frames as most are sold by private individuals online from sites like Ebay. You can sometimes find some old quality frames at local flea markets or swap meets as well.
Just recently purchase RB3611 and RB4202 from Rayban Australia. The items where shipped from China? Will I get worried that I have counterfeit once? They came out with the boxes same with the fake on the video. But the codes and every details match the glasses.
Hello! Ray-Ban manufactures in both Italy and China so that is not cause for concern! It sounds like you purchased directly from the Ray-Ban Australia site which in that case, there is no need to question authenticity :)
My prescription Ray Bans that I bought from a Lens Crafters in Macy's do not have RayBan etched into the lens themselves. I have transition lenses on them, but now I'm afraid that they aren't official. Are my transition prescription glasses supposed to have that print on the lens?
Hello! Not usually for ophthalmic lenses (clear, not tinted). The lenses used may be of a different brand other than RayBan, but are still under the luxottica banner of lenses, so the quality is the same. However, the RayBan frame is more than likely authentic Ray-Ban if purchased through lenscrafters.
I was about to buy Ray-Ban sunglasses at America's Best eyewear but not sure these are real Ray-Bans. The plastic frame on the New Wayfarer seemed cheap and the temple arm was not smooth, but the plastic was sort of pock-marked. I didn't buy them in the end. Don't know if America's Best buys sloppy seconds or counterfeit, they do not make prescription sunglasses with the Ray-Ban logo on the front.
Hi Samantha! That's a normal feature on Ray-Ban eyeglasses. Those lenses are meant to be replaced with prescription lenses so that's why you're seeing the black logo on the lens!
Hi. Can you pelase tell me what 'Ray Ban LR' means ? I have found a pair of brown 'Ray Ban L.A. lenses for sale, but i can't find any information on the net. Thanks in advance.
Another thing I've noticed is that on all the authntic ones the RB logo on each nose pad is painted in white and looks very sharp. On the fakes the RB logo is not painted white and left clear with metal background. Take a look and see if this is true.
Bought several pairs in the Philippines at a Unitop mall. Of course I knew they couldn't be real. As they were only 45 pesos, which is under 1 dollar. But still fun to pick up just to give my friends' hopes up when I handed them out.
@@sportrxeyewear Thank you. And another question is one of my of my Aviator, Evolve, both of its temple markings are chipping away. The right side is almost gone. The left side, half is left. I bought all of them at a legit Ray Ban store, department store mall. Is it authentic?
Hi Eddie! Yes, technically a sticker should come on the lenses but those stickers easily fall off so I wouldn't judge the authenticity of a frame solely based on the sticker. I've seen frames without them and they're still authentic!
Hi Chito! Yes, Ray-Ban prescription glasses do come with a different case than the sunglasses. Glasses come with a hard clamshell case while the sunglasses come with the softer button closure case.
I bought clubmasters in 55mm at an authorized dealer but they didnt have the temple size on the nose bridge yet it did have it on one of the sides is this common in authentic clubmasters
Hey Ricardo! Yes, totally normal. The location of the model, color, and sizing can vary by style. For a Clubmaster, the temple length should be listed on the inner temple so yours sounds perfect!
Hello, can you tell me about the small logo on the left lens (RB) , which side of the lens should be engraved on, inside or outside? Thanks in advance!
I just bought the Ray-Ban’s Erica for a family member from Sunglass hut in Macy’s website They said that they’re made in Thailand I didn’t know they were made in Thailand I thought it was Italy
I had recently ordered 2 pairs from the Ray-Ban site and both pairs seemed used. They had fingerprints and micro scratches on the frames. I returned them because I would not pay for used glasses. I was not happy, and I don't trust Ray-Ban anymore. I then tried Amazon as the seller and they were the worst!
i got prescription ray ban eyeglasses, to be honest they felt really thin and cheap flimsy, so i returned them straight away, i hope i can get my refund. really bad. ill be ordering from the official website for sure, no dealers
Licensed retailers, like SportRx, provide authentic RayBan items but it's good to check the return policy just in case! There are also many authentic RB's made with different materials that may feel 'flimsy' to some if the picture that helped make the decision to purchase gave the impression that the product is heavier or denser than what was received. Always a good idea to try on first before purchase if one can!
Rob's got a pretty big dome so he rocks the 2132 RayBan new Wayfarer size 58 BUT you may require the 52 or 55 eyesize depending on fit! www.sportrx.com/ray-ban-rb2132-new-wayfarer-58-eyesize.html
Hi I bought a pair of round metal glasses they look real and I’ve checked and they seem it too, only problem is there make a creaking sound is that normal and how can I fix it!
Hi Ryan! Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear about your frames. No, that isn't a normal issue to have on Ray-Ban frames. You could possibly try loosening the screws or applying a very small amount of WD-40 just at the squeaky parts. Hope this helps!
Hi, again. Can you please tell me what Ray Ban lenses 1/30-10K 60 means ? I have just bought a pair of RB3025 for 35€, they have BL on center of the lenses. Did i make a good deal ? They are like new. Thanks in advance.
I'm not convinced. I have a nice pair of fakes with nice lenses. I had them tested and they are 100% UV protected. Only cost me $25 from Cina. I'm considering buying a couple more pairs from the same seller. I just don't feel like it's worth an additional $150 to know that they are "authentic".
Well, at least you go into it knowingly, eh? I would recommend having all of them checked for UV protection rather than just trusting the pair you've tested already.
I have fake ones that i got from mexico and im glad i got them rather than the real ones they look amazing feel amzing have the logo and were only 15 dollars
I have an original pair of Bausch and Lomb Ray Ban predators. I bought them in 1995 and they have been excellent glasses. I broke the frames today. The lenses are still almost perfect. I can't believe how well these lenses have resisted scratching. Could you tell me if I can somehow get replacement frames to put my lenses in?
Sorry pal they don't make those anymore, in my foto this are 35year old Ray Ban frames prescription lenses, made in the USA , I have looked there not out there!
Hi, i bought my clubmaster online. On right arm there is no “made in italy”. Its just a ray ban logo followed by “T” and CE symbol. Based on your experience, does mine is fake one? Thank you
Hey are Ray Ban that are made in China fake or real? It has all the real qualities like weight of the lens the serial numbers the arms everything but it says made in China not Italy. Does that mean they're fake?
Hi Jordan! Ray-Ban manufactures in both Italy and China so authentic styles will reflect one of those two countries. Yours sounds like the real deal :)
Hi Connor! Is there a specific style you're looking at for sizes? Some Ray-Bans have multiple sizes while others are available in a single eyesize. Let us know and we can definitely help out!
Hi! We can't speak to where other sites source their products, but SportRx.com sells 100% authentic real RayBans. 👉 www.sportrx.com/brand/ray-ban.html 🔥
Do all Ray Bans have the "Made in Italy" mad one top of the nose bridge? Mines doesn't have it and i bought it from an authorized dealer for my prescription and cost over 200+ dollars.
Hello! Yes, all Ray-Ban glasses should have a Made in Italy/China stamp somewhere on the frame. You can find this on the interior temple or the interior bridge. If it is a metal double bridge frame, it may even be stamped on the top of the highest bridge piece. Hope this helps!
@@sportrxeyewear Mines does say Made in Italy on the inside of the right arm but not on top of the nose bridge, and they are not aviators but square lenses. Should i be worried? also i got a black cloth instead of grey, does Ray-Ban offer black cloths as well?
All of that sounds very normal! The location of the "Made in" stamp depends on the style. An interior temple is definitely a traditional spot for it. As for the cloth, yes there are black too! Typically, the eyeglasses come with black cloths. In addition to this, you mentioned that you purchased from an authorized dealer so everything sounds genuine :)
Hi Israel! While we can't speak for other retailers, if you are ever concerned about Ray-Ban authenticity, I would recommend simply reaching out to the retailer for confirmation!
Just got a pair of aviators (polarized) they are the all black. I saw a different video that said real ones say “made in Italy” on the top bridge but mine don’t say that. Is this normal?
Aye I got some cat eye non prescription ray bans the logo is on the left bottom lens . It has r.b on the nose pad . Everything checks out from what I know can you help me are they fake ?
Hey Joshua! The signature should be found on the upper right lens (right side when you're wearing them). The RB initials should be lightly etched into the left lens. If you have a model number, we can take a closer look for you. Feel free to submit an inquiry here: www.sportrx.com/contact. I also always recommend checking if a supplier is an authorized dealer before buying. You can find that out here: www.ray-ban.com/usa/store-locator
i got some rayban prescreption glasses from a place and when i got them i didnt get the case you guys are showing there and im confused i didnt get a logo on the glasses like the rb or thr ray ban are they fake?
Hi guys, I bought a pair of rb3025 g15 polarised from one of the sunglass hut store in India. The details of the model wore off within a week from temple arms. Is it a fake?
Hello! If purchased from Sunglass Hut then they're likely legitimate. The details rubbing off could be a manufacturer's defect or the result of a chemical applied to the material, like cleaning solution. However, that can happen over time through general wear and tear.
I bought some rayban glasses at the optician Pearl in the netherlands. It says they are a certified Rayban reseller. But on mine there is no text 'Made in Italy' these are no sunglasses tho so is this the reason? Or do all rayban glasses have to have made in italy or china?
Hey! I have a pair of blaze wayfarer. They dont the metal in the temples. And they say the letter K on the right temple after made in italy. Is this genuine?
Hi Skye! Thanks for watching and reaching out! Authenticity is hard to pin point on just two characteristics so I recommend assessing the frame as a whole. There can be letters after the "Made in Italy" so that sounds normal.
@@sportrxeyewear thank you for replying. They look authentic and feel authentic. Im 99% positive they are. I think its just the lack of metal frame inside the temple that threw me as someone said all models have that. But i cant find much info anywhere on the rb4440 model 😊
Hi Ana! While we can't speak for other retailers, if you are ever concerned about Ray-Ban authenticity, I would recommend simply reaching out to the retailer for confirmation!
Hi Omar! While we can't speak on behalf of other retailers, we always advise to purchase from an authorized dealer so you know you're getting the real thing!
Hi! Need your help! Bought Highstreet in one of approved by Ray Ban stores in my country, but I have thoughts that this is fake. Maybe you can tell me if it's possible that hinge in original glasses could be extremely tight, so I just scared to move temple of glasses. Also the cloth wasnt usual for Ray Ban, it wasn't gray with accurate logo, it was bigger and had different color. Are there different variants of cloth or it is always the same?
Hi Alice! If you purchased from an authorized dealer, you will have authentic Ray-Bans. It is a bit odd that the hinges are so tight that you find it concerning so I would suggest reaching out to the retailer for an adjustment. As for the cloth, it may have changed over the years and is easily reproduced so I wouldn't recommend judging the authenticity of your frames on the cloth. Hope this helps!
I work at a return center for a different company and I can tell you that we don’t check all products that are returned for authenticity so anyone can return a fake product in place of the authentic one and then they are resold as new... I’ve also noticed they don’t check the authenticity at Macy’s locations when I returned a G-Shock watch... so there is that
If you're going to pay full price, just buy them off the Ray Ban website. They'll run promos there, that even big retailers don't - especially on custom options.
@@couldntthinkofagoodnamesoi8357 This! Exactly this. Got 25% off frames and 50% off lenses from the ray-ban website. Went crazy and bought 3 different pairs. Wayfarer, State Street and Nomad. They didn't even charge tax. They are definitely the way to go.
On the frame or lens? It's uncommon for the frame logo to fade, but the logo stamp on the lens is subject to fading over time with standard wear and tear. You can help prolong the logo by reducing pressure when cleaning over that particular spot on the lens as well as keeping them in the case and not exposed to UV light when not in use.

What does the "K" stand for on the right arm of Ray Ban RB2140? The side that says "hand made in Italy"...been trying to get an answer and so far all I've found is that it's the type of frame it is and stands for Karat cause it has gold? lol
Hi Brian! This is a great question and it's no surprise that you had difficulty finding an answer! That letter after "Made in Italy" can vary. While you're correct that "K" typically stands for karat, in this case, it is probably just a coding for which factory manufactured it. A little less exciting but a genuine Ray-Ban marking nonetheless :)
@@sportrxeyewear Thank you for your answer! Any idea which factory "K" is produced in? I've also seen some with a "B" listed on them.
No optical makes prescribed sunglasses with the logo unless you ask the ray ban store yourself.
Do one for maui Jim's as well
The sticker on my eyeglasses is on the bottom and it’s black Are they fake ?
Hi Samantha! That's a normal feature on Ray-Ban eyeglasses. Those lenses are meant to be replaced with prescription lenses so that's why you're seeing the black logo on the lens!
Hi.
Can you pelase tell me what 'Ray Ban LR' means ?
I have found a pair of brown 'Ray Ban L.A. lenses for sale, but i can't find any information on the net.
Thanks in advance.
Hi there! LR typically stands for 'Lens Replacement'. There doesn't appear to be any model or collection noting LR in the name. Hope they work out!
@@sportrxeyewear
My mistake...it's L.A.
Another thing I've noticed is that on all the authntic ones the RB logo on each nose pad is painted in white and looks very sharp. On the fakes the RB logo is not painted white and left clear with metal background. Take a look and see if this is true.
Hey Andrew! That's a great point. It's all in the details and knock-offs don't do the real thing justice. Thanks for sharing your tip!
I have a replica pair and they have all the details I'm talking about every detail sometimes I be wondering if they came out from the same factory??
@@chinchillamade They probably are from the same factory. These days "real" vs "fake" not the issue but rather "quality" of the glasses.
Hi how can we know which real or fake ray ban ferrari colloction and how can we know the sungless ferrari colloction is chromance lens
The raybans from Italy dont have wayfarer written inside but I know they are authentic
Thank you for your feedback!
Bought several pairs in the Philippines at a Unitop mall. Of course I knew they couldn't be real. As they were only 45 pesos, which is under 1 dollar. But still fun to pick up just to give my friends' hopes up when I handed them out.
Tom Cruise wasn't available to model, unfortunately 😒
Would Kohl’s sell fake Ray Bans ?
Hi Julio! While we can't speak for other retailers, you can always reach out to the company to verify that they're an authorized Ray-Ban dealer!
Just get to the point!
REALLY !!! My goodness
Ive got plast glasses in my proscription glasses from Ray Ban
Question I bought some Ray-bans prescribe glasses from the actual ray ban store why doesn’t my wayfarers have the temple length number on them?
Hi! Not sure tbh. Send a photo of what you're describing to info@sportrx.com and an optician will review and get back to you with an answer!
All ray bans will have a serial number starting with RB but every single thing counts
Absolutely!
All three of my Aviator’s nose pads is not clear color. They look old. Is that ok?
Should be fine. If they start to dry out and crack ot fall off, any local optical shop should be able to provide a new set of nosepads. ✌
@@sportrxeyewear Thank you. And another question is one of my of my Aviator, Evolve, both of its temple markings are chipping away. The right side is almost gone. The left side, half is left. I bought all of them at a legit Ray Ban store, department store mall. Is it authentic?
I bought some ray bans from a glasses store in Mongolia for $40 and gotta say they look and feel legit.
Are the authentic ones supposed to have the sticker on the lense?
Hi Eddie! Yes, technically a sticker should come on the lenses but those stickers easily fall off so I wouldn't judge the authenticity of a frame solely based on the sticker. I've seen frames without them and they're still authentic!
Does the rayban reading glasses always comes with different hard black cases?
Hi Chito! Yes, Ray-Ban prescription glasses do come with a different case than the sunglasses. Glasses come with a hard clamshell case while the sunglasses come with the softer button closure case.
@@sportrxeyewear thank you so much for answering my question love you guys...😊
Happy to help! Thanks for the love!!
For a Clubmaster, the temple length should be listed on the inner temple so yours sounds perfect!
will logo on right lens will come off if we scratch it with finger nail on the original raybans?
No its tougher in original💀
What about the $60 ones at Ross?
Probably NOT Authentic RayBans BUT you can always send pictures to info@sportrx.com for verification! 😎
Hello, can you tell me about the small logo on the left lens (RB) , which side of the lens should be engraved on, inside or outside? Thanks in advance!
top side near the temple hinge
I just bought the Ray-Ban’s Erica for a family member from Sunglass hut in Macy’s website
They said that they’re made in Thailand
I didn’t know they were made in Thailand I thought it was Italy
I have a pair of Clubmaster Oversized (Wayfarer plastic top) and the arms do not have metal inside. They are just plastic. Are they fake? PLEASE HELP
What model are the glasses that the gentleman is wearing? I want to scoop them up

SportRx thanks I’ll try it!just feels a little loose for some reason there really nice tho!
Yeah, awesome choice on the Round Metal! If it feels loose, maybe do a combo of tightening the screw and using the WD-40 :)

I order from Kohl's and have no worries 😂
which glasses is Rob wearing in this video? i cant find on the site

Hi, again.
Can you please tell me what Ray Ban lenses 1/30-10K 60 means ?
I have just bought a pair of RB3025 for 35€, they have BL on center of the lenses.
Did i make a good deal ?
They are like new.
Thanks in advance.
My rb on the left side is above the hinge but everything else appears to be okay. Hope its no concern for fakes.
I agree with you cv600rr!
I have 3 pair of real and 4 pair of fakes, and let me tell ya the fakes are excellent for a fraction of the price
hi, missing of length between 58#14 and 3n is no sign of fake, i have a original also without the number
May I know model which Alana is wearing actually.. Thanks
Hi there! Unfortunately, Ray Ban does not sell the frame by itself, you would need to purchase sunglasses completely.
Sorry pal they don't make those anymore, in my foto this are 35year old Ray Ban frames prescription lenses, made in the USA , I have looked there not out there!
That must be a record
Hi, i bought my clubmaster online. On right arm there is no “made in italy”. Its just a ray ban logo followed by “T” and CE symbol. Based on your experience, does mine is fake one? Thank you
Its fake but it doesn't matter!🤷♂️💀🙃
Hey are Ray Ban that are made in China fake or real? It has all the real qualities like weight of the lens the serial numbers the arms everything but it says made in China not Italy. Does that mean they're fake?
Hi Jordan! Ray-Ban manufactures in both Italy and China so authentic styles will reflect one of those two countries. Yours sounds like the real deal :)
Is one if websites offer you different sizes? As should just be one fit fits all?
Hi Connor! Is there a specific style you're looking at for sizes? Some Ray-Bans have multiple sizes while others are available in a single eyesize. Let us know and we can definitely help out!

@@sportrxeyewear Thank you so much! you gave me a peace of mind!

Hey Joshua! The signature should be found on the upper right lens (right side when you're wearing them). The RB initials should be lightly etched into the left lens. If you have a model number, we can take a closer look for you. Feel free to submit an inquiry here: www.sportrx.com/contact. Send a couple of pictures to Info@sportrx.com and an optician will review and get back to you with an answer!
Why discuss only sunglass but not prescription glasses??
Mainly since fake sunglasses are far more common and accessible because they're worn by both Rx, as well as non-Rx wearers.
Some model made in China i.e. Clubmaster
Is not plasstic lenses allso real lenses From Ray Ban?

@@sportrxeyewear Thank you for your answer, it helps me a lot!
I work at a return center for a different company and I can tell you that we don’t check all products that are returned for authenticity so anyone can return a fake product in place of the authentic one and then they are resold as new... I’ve also noticed they don’t check the authenticity at Macy’s locations when I returned a G-Shock watch... so there is that
I bought a pair from Amazon and it was full price but I realized it was sold from eyeglasses-123. Is it fake?
If you're going to pay full price, just buy them off the Ray Ban website. They'll run promos there, that even big retailers don't - especially on custom options.
@@couldntthinkofagoodnamesoi8357 This! Exactly this. Got 25% off frames and 50% off lenses from the ray-ban website. Went crazy and bought 3 different pairs. Wayfarer, State Street and Nomad. They didn't even charge tax. They are definitely the way to go.
How do I prevent Ray Ban logo from fading over time?
On the frame or lens? It's uncommon for the frame logo to fade, but the logo stamp on the lens is subject to fading over time with standard wear and tear. You can help prolong the logo by reducing pressure when cleaning over that particular spot on the lens as well as keeping them in the case and not exposed to UV light when not in use.
@@sportrxeyewear I ment the lens.
