    Just the video I've been looking for. THANK YOU!

      You're welcome. There is also a Megasquirt 3 Plug and Play version which is a little more capable and about the same as far as installation is concerned.

      Rhank you. I'm working with the EFI Source Gold Box which is MS3. It comes with a short adapter harness and the box appears to be a bit bigger than the P2P you're working with. Need to figure out where to mount it with the short harness.

    I got a Megasquirt in my fox also it took a while for me to learn how to tune on it but it’s worth it

      It's a good system and if you are familiar with tuning speed density systems, it is pretty straightforward.

      I think a lot of the utility in a video like this is in raising awareness of this option. I see guys go on about the Holley systems at length, and I like them too, but MS2PNP seems like it has taken a back seat in terms of mindshare, and really shouldn’t. I do try to show a few of the common mistakes that you should avoid in the video too to try to make it at least semi-technical.

    I’m considering either this megasquirt or the pimpx system for my mark vii. Haven’t decided but the megasquirt can be found used for cheaper.

      I have set up pimpx and I have set up ms2pnp and now there is actually an ms3pnp which might be a good choice too. The Lincoln install is virtually identical to the Mustang install, but the Lincoln has the cruise control on the pcm so you will lose that, and you will need to ground one wire at the pcm harness to get the horn to work.

    Thank you so much for doing the video, helped me to get started. Does the megasquirt use the VSS signal at all? I have a Foxbody drivetrain and wiring in a 68 Mustang that I just replaced Ford ECU with the MS.

      @@JayVwantoC MS2PNP does not use the VSS, so you don’t need to worry about hooking that up.

    Curious if the Mustang installation results in the loss of cruise control? Love your videos, thank you.

    • @tecmotiondyno
      @tecmotiondyno  3 місяці тому

      No, the cruise control in the Mustang is handled by a separate box. On the Lincoln Mark VII it is handled by the actual PCM which is why you lose the cruise control in the Mark with a Megasquirt install.

    Great tutorial! So, does this car make more power simply by installing a mega squirt over the stock computer?

    • @tecmotiondyno
      @tecmotiondyno  3 місяці тому +1

      @@FoxyMcFoxFace93 I did not dyno it with the stock computer, but as far as I know it wasn’t really running right, so just getting it to run right would make a difference. My Lincoln Mark VII WAS running right before I switched it to Megasquirt and it did get a measurable improvement from the switch to Megasquirt and the dyno tune. I would say that all of that difference was derived from the ability to actually put a custom tune on the car. I also have a video which shows some details on dyno tuning a stock Foxbody which you might find enlightening:

    What exactly do you have to do to make the horn work?

    • @tecmotiondyno
      @tecmotiondyno  2 місяці тому

      You have to cut the ground wire from the steering column buttons and ground it to either the chassis or the pins 40/60 grounds. I recommend grounding it to the chassis. On the Mark VII this should be pin 39, but I advise you to double check it on your own car before cutting it. On the Mark VII PCM, this pin is grounded through the PCM. On the Mustang, this pin location should be empty.

    Is there a reason you went with that management system from Megasquirt than the other kits that they offer?
    Guessing the eft bank usually runs leaner is because of the intake or exhaust manifold design?

    • @tecmotiondyno
      @tecmotiondyno  3 місяці тому +2

      The MS2PNP is probably the most cost effective and simple way to get aftermarket engine management in your Foxbody, as long as your wiring harness isn't a mess. That's why I usually suggest it as an option. Also, I am guessing that the driver's bank usually runs leaner because of manifold design, but I can't give you a definitive answer. I know that after sampling many cars, IF one side is leaner, it is almost always the driver's side.

I REALLY FEEL IT WHEN I PUSH THE CLUTCH IN AND LET THE CAR COST . NO INDICATION OF THIS BEFORE THE INSTALL. PINION,THROWOUT BEARING ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED. Sometimes this is just an exhaust pipe hitting something because of the revised geometry. Obviously it’s impossible to diagnose over the internet but my approach would be to get it in the air on a 4 post lift and look carefully for anything that might be in contact with the body, driveshaft, or suspension, and check all the suspension work for issues. I have seen jobs like this where guys just didn’t do up the control arm bolts for instance.

      @@tecmotiondyno EVERYTHING IS TIGHT AND TOURQED AT RIDE HEIGHT WITH THE WEIGHT OF THE CAR ON THE TIRES WHICH I HAVE DONE THIS JOB A FEW TIMES FOR PEOPLE BUT NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE BUT IN SAYING THAT I CHECKED AND DOUBLE CHECKED THE WORK AND THE ONLY THING THAT WAS DONE DIFFERENT IS THAT I TURNED THE QUAD SHOCK AROUND FOR TIRE CLEARANCE. WOULD THAT CAUSE THAT? I'M GOING TO CHECK PINION ANGLE A REP FROM UPR SAID THAT LOWERING IT 1.5 COULD HAVE CHANGED THE ANGLE PLUS THEY SAID THAT THE CHANGE IN ANGLE COULD HAVE INHANCED THE NOISE OF A DIEING PILOTNBEARING AND OR THROWOUT BEARING. DOES THIS SEEM TO BE THE RIGHT MOVE OR THINKING OF WHAT IS GOING ON? I HAVE WATCHED ALOT OF YOUR VIDEOS AND I TRUST YOUR OPINION . THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR REPLY BECAUSE I KNOW ITS HARD TO PIN PIONT ONE THING

    The issue is have with these after market ecu’s are they only use one 02 sensor of a/f sensor. Problem here is you could be rich or lean in the opposite bank that’s not being monitored and not know it causing an issue

    • @tecmotiondyno
      @tecmotiondyno  3 місяці тому

      That's certainly true of the MS2PNP, though unlike the factory system it CAN be a wideband. The MS3 supports dual O2 sensors, including dual widebands, which is as good as the most current factory control systems. Holley Dominator EFI also allows dual wideband control, and Terminator X allows you to add a second wideband to monitor but runs closed loop off a single one.

    The trouble with these cars are, people are at a loss when there’s troubles with them , unless your as knowledgeable as you are, all these computers, tps , iac, wiring harnesses, no one knows we’re to turn, especially if ya know nothing about computers, what’s a guy to do, you could get into a lot of money if not carful an still not be running lol.
