Just saw the steam announcement that you will be departing the Ghost Ship team. Know that not only will you be missed by your colleagues, but by the DRG community as well. Your work on the sound design and music for this game is legendary and is a core experience in the game. Thank you for all your work. Rock and stone.
I never knew how much a track changes from the composer to the finished product. You two made this OST the absolute banger we have today. Rock & Stone!
This has been fascinating to listen to. The original track had all the necessary things inside already, but you made it so much punchier and more thrilling! Amazing work
Idk if you're continuing these videos anymore but "RUN!" is my all time favorite DRG track from either soundtrack album. Seeing as there's so many different sounding parts in the same song, it'd be amazing if you could do a video going into that track in-depth.
Hey Troels, so I've just seen the news of your departure from Ghost Ship and I'd like to thank you for all your work in this project for the past six years. I'm an amateur composer, and for the past two years I've been practicing and learning by making DRG fan music (I'm like three albums deep with almost two hours of music at this point LOL), and I've even made a mod to add all that music to the game! And all of that is thanks to how yours and Sophus' work has inspired me. I seriously cannot overestimate the impact it's had on my own development as a composer, as well as on this game's longevity and its amazing community. I hope to one day work on something that has this much quality and this much heart put into it. So wherever you go and whatever you do next, know that you've made a big impact here. I feel like I can speak on behalf of the community by saying thank you dude, and Rock and Stone!🤘 (P.S. that banjo slaps)
I freakin’ love this soundtrack, it’s so badass but also has a comforting feel to it especially in the context of the game, the game would feel lonely and dull without the amazing work you have done here, thank you TRG Audio, and everyone at ghost ship for the amazing work of art that is dep rock galactic. Rock and Stone!
bruh, I love each and every little sound coming from the game, but the OST is on the whole other level. This music have joined Hades OST as not only the best game music, but best pieces of music overall. I love both of them. This music got me through such bleak times, that it reminds me on who I am. It is important part of my life. Of my usual day. Thank you, Troels For Rock and Stone! oT
Thank you so much Nick. I know how you feel. I too have music that has been with me through thick and thin. Especially thin. Very honored to be have been a tiny part of stuff that could help you. Cheers Nick. Have a great day:)
Would love to hear a bit more about the thought process / intent behind the specific modifications that were made (or not made), or any inspirations, etc ; generally the logic of how you build toward the end result. Fascinating as always, so glad to peer behind the curtain of these awesome tracks! (You mention toward the end that you were really happy with this track; are there any that were notably less so? Would be interested to hear more of the critique aide as well)
@@trjaudio wouldn't need to be for every track, any bits would be interesting. I'd be down for an extended deep dive though if it's ever feasible 😄 (Hehe, and listen to a deep dive on a Deep Dive)
Ive played a lot of games and honestly no soundtrack has stood out to me as much as DRG's did. You and Sophos did an amazing job. Deep rock galactic was the FIRST game where instead of turning the ingame music OFF and playing my own in the background, I CRANKED IT UP AS HIGH AS IT WOULD GO There isnt a SINGLE track from both volumes that I dont enjoy, but I do have my favorites I would LOVE to see a volume 3 and more from both of you, do you have any plans to keep releasing music for Deep Rock as time goes on? and again thank you for the INCREDIBLE soundtrack, the game wouldn't be the same without it
Thanks a lot for the kind words:) currently, there are no plans for a volume 3. But you never know. The game continues to sell well and we will continue on making updates/seasons for it, as long as it makes sense. Thanks again!:)
This video was very entertaining and kept me interested through the entire video. Even though I didn't understand half of the things you were saying (I have small brain).

I have to say A distant terror hits harder than a bulk detonator.
Karl, I hope he shows how he made that, too.
You could say it's a banger
True
This has to be one of my favourite swarm moosics among "dance of the dreadnought" and "They're here"

Thank you very much Khino. Amazing that it has had such an influence on you. I wish you all the best in the future:)
The sound at 15:10 blew my mind the first time I heard it and made me feel all is not as it seems in the world of DRG

Thanks man! I'm sure someone competent will take over, both when it comes to music, but also sound effects. Thanks again and have a great day!
