    Huge improvement over the old GT. Way better tones and more options. It just surpassed the Katana for me as the best and simplest practice/modeling amp out there.

    The tones sound good, but can you please tell me if when you are playing it feels like a real amp even thiugh it is digital? I had a vox valvetronix and it sounded like the tones were coming from behind the amp with a wet towel over it couldn't get the amp to sound like the speaker was throwing the sound if that makes sense

    05/29/2020: Wow, great Demo! I love the 4-view screen. But, could you brighten up the photos just a little more, they are a little dark and not easy to see details. Also, I love how you explain how the amp functions. In one of the four screens, could you show what settings on the amp screen is set on?

    I’m not some serious guitarist, I just love to play and improvise over backing tracks so I don’t feel like I need to get some crazy setup. I currently just have a fender mustang Lt25 which is cool, but have been wanting to upgrade to something a little better and this seems perfect! Thanks for a great video and review!

    Excellent video quality and multi camera setup! It’s a cool amp but I’m soured on amps have features that require Fender support after they discontinued support for Fender Fuse that my Mustang III v2 used.

    • @larryh.3173
      @larryh.3173 4 роки тому +2

      From what I read over at the looong thread at TGP, Fender dropped Fuse because it was powered by a Microsoft program etc which MS had itself ended development and support of... and therefore, apparently Fuse was somehow rendered obsolete. (Got me. I’m no techie.). IIRC, it’s the same “MS” reason why Fender recently closed its own forum, too. All that said, I am of course ENTIRELY open to correction, but I hope it helps.

    A: Fender GTX100

    I have it and I love the tones. One big problem though: when using it as a bluetooth speaker, the volume frequently cuts out completely for both the guitar and the bluetooth.

  • @happypuertorican
    @happypuertorican 4 роки тому +2

    I had a Mustang GT 100 and traded it for a katana Mark ii 100. I miss the GT 100 because the bass response was better. Also the katana master volume has to be turned up to get the best sound and when you have your music plugged into it the volume is too high. The reverbs on the katana are all the same so it’s just one reverb type. The tremolo effect sounds nowhere near as good as the fender effect.
    Basically the katana is good for gigging but you’re only gonna have 3really good sound clean dirty and distortion. The foot switch does not function properly out of the box it’s mislabeled and the tap affect for delay is missing in action.
    My only problem with the mustang was that I couldn’t really get bright tones from it.

    I have the GTX50 and I had the Katana 100 mk2. The Katana is really good and I think a gigging musician is better served with it. However, for the at home player I think the sound of the GTX is awesome and I love the variety. So I sold the Katana yesterday and replaced it with the Monoprice 15 watt tube amp.

    Seems cool to me. Appeal is there. I got too many already. Trust me, I tried them all pretty much. Liked the Peavey Pro 100 speaker. Liked Marshall code models. Loved the little Vox vxii for just playing. Using Amplifi 75 and Zoom mic for recording to USB. Katana mkii and mki 100 for stereo with a Trio Plus. Bought and returned twice a Spark. Bought third time and probably will return it again if I don't got a shipping number by June. Favorite amps my DSL 1 combo the new one, Fender Champion 600, Monoprice laney 15w and Ibanez TSA30. Realized those are all Tube amps. Lol

    With dozens of new pieces of gear constantly coming out...I gave up and bought a Kemper. All this gear coming out sounds good for the price, but how many amps and pedals are you going to keep buying?( a general question clearly not targeted at TK but for us hobbyists ;) We are reaching gear saturation point? Good demo!

Today, there's too many good options :-). Anyhoo ... keep a rockin'. Thanks Kurt!

      Tone master is amazing, I have one, until I had it for a month and a demo deluxe reverb 68 came up on SW for less than I paid for my tone master. I have an attenuator, right? 😁 so I’ll a/b the TM and the deluxe to see how they sound in my room and make a final decision, but gods yes if you can swing a tone master and dont have a Hangup like I do of being able to own a silver face once in my life, go for it. Just remember the 65 is clean only on both sides and the 68 is clean on one side and modified on the 2nd channel

    • @DimitriFrondizi
      @DimitriFrondizi 4 роки тому

      it depends much on the environment where you are trying it: in fact, just yesterday in a trusted Italian music store it sounded as it was half powered, and seems that there is a severe problem of frequencies cancellation in that narrow corridor with all the digital amplifiers and similar ... so sometimes the music stores could be not all that good as reference to judge an amplifier. One time there was another store in my region with proper cabins/rooms isolated acoustically and was the perfect thing to try guitars and amps correctly.
      at home in the living room it sounds
      very good, loud and right with strong projection 3D sound as Shane of Intheblues channel said in his extended reviews.
      if i would have to claim something is about the quality of the pots, typical Chinese production with a not consistent quality, a couple of them doesn't rotate as smoothly as the rest of knobs. But i seldom used them to change parameters, also in my precedent Mustang 3 v2, now you have even the application on smartphone / tablet as remote control to manage all into the amp, so that is not a problem.

      @@PeterDad60 how about British? Orange? I think Orange may be made in the USA also. Orange has been around almost forever and has distinctively good sound and looks. I have a Kitana MKII 100 and an Orange 35RT. That 35 watts in the Orange is a strong 35W with amazing sounds, and it is very easy to use. I’m thinking of taking back my Kitana 100 and swapping for either an Orange 60C Pro, or this Fender GTX 100. I respect the Tone King’s knowledge and ability and that brings the Fender maybe equal to the Orange 60 for me - I really like the Orange sound, looks, history and rock heritage, but I like the sound and modeling technology of this particular Fender. Fender obviously has a great name, history and heritage also, but I haven’t really been a fan of many Fender amps. The GTX100 is something special though I think. The Kitana looks and sounds good, but just seems like a kluge with many things thrown together, and many of them not east to get at. That is not the case with the Orange and the GTX100. They have been designed well and everything is easy to get to.
