I got to see Them in July 2017. I was 13 at the time. Bought the Tickets With all the money I had. I was a fan then but left the show a superfan for life. So pure. The best damn band ever. Chills every time. RIP Tom

I’ve been brought up on Tom petty, and all I can say is, what a guy. He was such a good man, no ego and so switched on, their music is just something else on another level.
I was born in 1998 and was aware of TP&HB at a young age. I’ve been a huge fan since I was 6 or7, finally got to see them in July of 2017. I’m so grateful I got to, best damn band ever if you ask me. Too bad they don’t make em like this anymore.

I was born in 1967. I never really took much notice of this band until this exact footage was aired one late Friday night on BBC2. I got totally hooked on them from that moment on. I too got the chance to see them on their final tour in 2017 at Hyde Park. I still listen to them much about every day, and it’s helped when the brilliant Allyn Kessler keeps posting stuff like this so regularly.
I was an emotion wreck after learning to fly. Had to stop the video get my shit together then enjoy the rest of this what a group. They say Tom joined the super group the travel wilburys , he was already with a super group ! Rest in peace Tom and thank you for helping me fly

Thanks Allyn one of my biggest regrets is not ever getting to see Tom and the heartbreakers in concert so I cherish videos like these you post still miss him always but his music keeps him alive thanks
That's a dirty shame because I saw them 100 + times including his last show at the Bowl. Knew it was there last show after talking with a couple of the heartbreakers backstage. They were all worked pretty hard and injured. Tom never did come out. What a ride it was!!!!! I only listen to Tom Petty now. My wife thinks I'm nuts and I probably am. Still, I'm not ready to let anyone in...

I was at this Isle of Wight show. It was the highlight of the weekend. He headlined the Friday followed by pearl jam on the Saturday and Bruce Springsteen on the Sunday. Not a bad weekend!

I think he was in a lot of pain at this time When you watch him on Learning to Fly he looks in pain. His hands and arms can be seen to shake quite a lot. So sad.
When Tom turned towards the band during ‘i should’ve known it’, I really felt that energy when the beat hit

Yes saw Tom and the guys everytime they were on tour. They never disappointed but what would I expect from the greatest American band to ever grace a stage.

I didn’t know he suffered Parkinson’s as I see his left arm shaking when playing, he was a great songwriter. I’m so glad I saw him live few months before he passed away at bottlerock
I am sure he didn’t.
It wasn't parkinsons the reason his hand is shaking is due to him punching a wall in his youth after an intense recording period and he had to get his hand rebuilt
