Hey there @JumpingPlaces ! Would you happen to have the contact of the company that rented the car to you and your friend? Im going to Samana with my wife in June and would love to drive around
ALL beaches in Dominican Republic are public, it doesn't matter if is the most expensive resort, 60 meters into the beach MUST be open to the public by law.
Yeah the problem is that it’s also the law in other countries that we visit but money talks I guess, and people get away with it. Glad that the DR isn’t that way 😁👍
@@JumpingPlaces That's right. It took a long time, decades ago, of people protesting for the beaches to be public and open. Now, everybody can enjoy them!!!
@@JumpingPlaces in Dominican Republic that is one of the few laws that is respect it by powerful people, not resort or expensive villa want to get in a legal battle because they stopped somebody from entering a beach, our beaches are free and open for all.
@user-yb6ob8td4r not one is supposed to make you leave any space on the beach, but there may be houses protected by their own coast,or beaches. Using their utilities, like chairs, table or food and drinks you have to pay.
I am Dominican, born and raised in NY, with strong ties back to the island. The first time I went to Playa Caletón, I feel so in love that I purchased land not far from it. The northern coast (from Samana all the way to Sousa) in my opinion is the best part of DR and it’s not exploited yet!
The Dominican Republic is a beautiful paradise, I saw a photograph coffee table book on Amazon about this country full of beautiful photos and is gorgeous!
Punta Cana is mostly known by tourist but we dominicans barely go there, we do local tourism lakes, rivers and beaches. We go To Samana Salto Del Limon, Puerto Plata Rio Sonador, theres also Bahia De Las Aguilas, Isla Saona etc.
Punta Cana is nice but it seems like there are so many places in the DR that are way more beautiful with different varieties of beaches and things to do, it's strange that specifically Punta Cana became the main spot
Yes, I wish they had been there on a Sunday to see all the people who go to the beach to drink, swim, cookout etc. I spend time in Cofresi and Costambar and people come by the BUSLOADS from Santiago.
Hi guys, thank you for visiting our beautiful country. You fellows went to those amazing beaches in this time of the year when is windy. In summer time is much better and the waves are more serene and quiet. Thanks and enjoy the remaining of your vacations.
Jungle and rain are the cause of mosquitoes. Since DR is so green, and it rains from time to time, mosquitoes are part of the pictures. They are annoying! Beautiful video! Laguna Gree Gree is an amazing experience not far from there, it had to be done through a tour though.
Excellent video Chris and Carol, thanks for all the videos you upload....Scotland can be very depressing in winter with only six hours of daylight so these videos cheer me up loads. I loved the beaches and thought it very funny of the dogs chasing the drones. I hope the two of you have a lovely Christmas and all the best for 2024....adios amigos. ❤
This seems to be the first time I see you two eating the same meal, haha! The dogs there are smart and they know drones are more expensive! Sun, beach, beautiful and friendly people, I would be happy to live there! I am very happy to go to paradise with you, where is Dominican! Thanks a lot for sharing, great job! 👍🥰🙏❤
First of all, thanks for sharing your video of your stay in DR. I enjoyed the whole of it since I am from there, and I have lived overseas for a while. The last time I visited the country was over a decade ago. Yes, that part of the country is littered with beautiful beaches with easy access and free. Just need to look around. The people are for the most part very friendly, servil, and humble, especially to foreigners. Finally, that plate with the fried red snapper, rice, salad, tostones, and the salad with avocado, with the President beer looks pretty delightful. Bon appetite to all of you, and hope your stay in DR is a joyful experience and a safe one.
You should go to Punta Rucia. The best beach in the northern coast. And take a little boat to Cayo Arena and the manglares. You guys will not regret it.
In the 1990's I went to the DR for a fashion shoot and what I remember best is that we got to eat a lot of chicken and goat meat -and there were a lot of school children coming out of the jungle towards the main roads dressed in pristine white school uniforms.
I have learned that wherever you travel in the world, if the free roaming dogs are friendy and even playful, its a very strong indicator that the local populace are kind and friendly as well. This beach in Dominican Republic reminds me of the beaches in the Philippines but its a little tragic that most of the visitors are not locals, but non native tourists. The red snapper meal looked delicious!
That's because it's a weekday, must Dominicans enjoy the beach on weekends, also those areas are pretty much tourists areas, there's more tourists than anything else
@1474JOHN if those are the toyrist areas are, then which beaches do thelocals go to? Hopefully, they go to even more prettier beaches than the tourists frequent.
The deserted beach that they saw next to Playa Grande is called Playa Preciosa, it is reached by a path that is next to the bathrooms where the parking lot is.
❤What a nice place but you guys always go to great places love your videos my wife and I are living now in Thailand moved from the Philippines i am from the USA
I think the resort that the Drone saw is AMANERA the Aman resort of the Dominican republic. About 2k per night and you are right. all public beaches and that is the beach beside it.
It is. And I'm crying that I can't play the golf course anymore... it used to be open for public play before Amanera was built and it is an incredible course.
Hi guys. You will not believe that but I had similar story with my drone and local dogs. .😂😂😂Went to see Plata Grande just before last Christmas but we actually were not that blessed with weather. On your footage it looks like totally different place lol. The beach you showed from drone perspective is accessible by short walk and it even more stunning called Plata Preciosa
Chris...I've said it before...maybe Caro doesn't mind , but dragging a razor across your neck twice a week would really help . You have no need for a beach-bum appearance with your amount of experience , and class AAA company . When it's brazilian wax time , you can go shave . And wax , hahaha
Hey there @JumpingPlaces ! Would you happen to have the contact of the company that rented the car to you and your friend? Im going to Samana with my wife in June and would love to drive around Thanks!
Hola, excelente vídeo! Cuando iban a la Cala secreta que vieron desde el drone si era la direccion correcta y se llama playa El Ponton, no tiene arena pero es como una piscina natural rodeada de manglares.
Welcome to the D.R. I enjoy watching your videos. You should checkout 27 waterfalls just outside Puerto Plata. It's a wonderful hike thru the river where you slide and jump a series of waterfalls and cliffs. It's a memorable excursion.
For anyone considering the waterfalls, try to avoid it when there are cruise ships in Puerto Plata or Maimon ----- it gets SUPER TOURISTY and bombed with people on ship excursions.
Look for Larimar and Amber stones there in Dominican. It is mined there, and some beaches you can find small pieces of larimar. Both stones are valuable.
The entire north coast of the DR has so much beauty, all the way west to Monte Cristi, and all the way east to Samana. The golf course at Playa Grande visible in some of the drone shots is really special. I had the please of playing it several times over the years before it went private as part of the new Amanera resort. If I recall, 10 of the holes play alongside the ocean cliffs - spectacular scenery and a spectacular Caribbean golf course. Such a shame it's no longer available for public play. Dogs & Drones haha.... A friend's pug dog would go after my drone just like the beach dogs. I used to "exercise" him like that lol. Also, Dengue is a thing in the DR.... very advisable to use insect repellent anywhere there are mosquitos around.
Fantastic video, I haven't been there for six years. You missed visiting Cabrera 10 minutes from Playa Grande: Playa Diamante, Playa la Entrada, Waterfall el Saltadero and between Playa Grande and Cabrera make a stop at Nursery Flor Café to have a cappuccino
One thing that sucks about traveling full time is not being able to have our own doggos lol, at least we get to meet so many friendly ones on our travels though :D
If you go into Río San Juan to Laguna Gri Gri you can hire one of the boats and they will take you to a bunch of hidden beaches that you can only get to by boat

We had a few wonderful days on Playa Grande a few years ago. Have you been to Las Galeras? Many think that's the best indie traveler place in the DR.
Hey there @JumpingPlaces !
Would you happen to have the contact of the company that rented the car to you and your friend?

Let's do this day all over again guys! That was so much fun 🤙The DR is the best!

All the way to Monte Cristi even! Such a beautiful country, I've been visiting since 1986.
my goal too, i want to be in an area away from the tourism
Gorgeous place, I loved the Dominican Republic and there’s a doggy heaven too. 🌴☀️🌊🐾🐾💕🇨🇦

Yeah we are used to them since we lived in Brazil, there were probably so many at that place because of that big pond that we showed, nesting area.

The guy at the restaurant said the locals do go there, both beaches that we visited are busy on the weekends when the locals are not working
