As a dominican, i can tell you non of that matters when the goverment is as corrupt as it is, the only thing holding them back from full on, is that most of the country's income comes from tourism, so they have to keep an external image.

Thank you for showing me the rest of DR! I stayed at Caribe Tropical Princess all inclusive in Punta Cana in 2012. I enjoyed it very much. 🍹 Made friends with people from Russia, France, Italy, Germany, UK, South America, USA,, Canada, all at the swim up bar in the pool. I was solo and thats the best place to meet fellow travellers, and pool aerobics, my kind of exercise 🐌. It was a blast! I've read that Bayahibe is where the Atlantic ocean meets the Caribbean Sea 🐬🐟🐠🐚🦀. Makes me think of all that crystal clear blue water! 😸. I hope to visit LA Romana one day.🦀🌺

If you can't have a good time in the Dominican Republic, you are probably hopeless. Fun place to visit. Prices are reasonable and the people are friendly.
