    I was never a Jeep or a truck person, but I rented a Rubicon while in Hawaii recently, and there was some a serious off-road & rock crawl road I took it on, I was insanely shocked with how effortless it climbed over everything, so now I would definitely own one of these as a 3rd car. That's not event close to the old full size jeep truck. This so called new jeep truck is a disgrace to jeep and the old jeep trucks. This new jeep truck looks like they took a jeep to a body shop that makes limos and just did a stretch job . For about 5k you can get your jeep stretched and it would be alot better and only 10% the cost of a new jeep truck. Google a pic of the old jeeps and you'll see my view about this .

    So, I'm not going to read through all 514 comments, but from what I can tell, nobody has mentioned this yet:
    At 5:56, Yuri said that his one buddy pointed out that if you put drywall in the bed, it'll crack from sitting on the wheel wells. That might be true, but if you use the features in the bed that you can see at 5:52, your drywall should be fine. Look on top of the wheel well. See that little indent that's about the size of a 2x4 piece of lumber? Lay said piece of lumber flat from side-to-side. Also, see the little vertical indent just behind the wheel well that's about the size of a 2x6? Stick a piece of said 2x6 in there vertically from side to side and BOOM! Instant drywall shelf. Jakub, check your Raptor. I bet your bed has similar features.

      I think the Gladiator measures about 45" between the wheel wells...it sucks that they couldn't make it just 48.5" to accommodate people who haul sheet goods. It's the primary reason why I will never buy any midsize truck.

    The most honest part of this video is their shift in opinion. Going from wanting a basic Jeep as a lifestyle vehicle to wanting a Rubicon that they will offroad is something that sadly most owners dont understand. People have always bought Jeeps because they have always been a trendy vehicle. But they can offer so much more of a driving experience if you're willing to just try.

    I really like this Jeep Gladiator. I used to have a 2013 Wrangler 4 door and I liked it a lot, but it was slow, especially with the manual. I never went off-roading in it so I guess I used it as a lifestyle vehicle. I got it because of the soft-top and it was a manual. Now I have a ND Miata and I would say it is a lifestyle vehicle too. The off-roading footage and camera angles are awesome, you really showed off the Gladiator's capabilities.

    Hey guys, this will probably get lost, but what they meant by Fox "branded" shocks is that they are Fox shocks, branded with Jeep on them. For example, the ones on TRD Pro stuff from Toyota do not say Toyota on the shocks. So this is them saying, we have Jeep branded Fox Shocks

    45K for the base model? Hell no, I would rather get a full size crew cab truck, with a V8 and some options for that price. The starting price on the Gladiator should be in the low 30s.

    13:36 - "Trail Rated" status may be determined by engineers as you said but it is also a marketing "gimmick" used to entice buyers. It is a branded message designed to communicate higher off road capabilities over other market offerings that is literally adhered to the side of the vehicle (fits my definition of gimmick, but perhaps not everyone's). Not trying to ruffle feathers here, but if I were told it is not a marketing gimmick by a "presentation guy" who is paid to market the Gladiator at a Jeep off road (marketing) event, I wouldn't trust that messaging.
    Love your honest takes and opinions in all of your videos, but that bit made me raise a brow lol.
    Anyway, It looks strange, but less strange the longer you look at it. I'd take a regular rubicon if I had to choose one or the other.

    This is for the city folks who go out on the weekends to take photos to show they are outdoorsy, while needing enough room to haul their kayak once a year. A real outdoorsman who needs a rig gets a wrangler. A real truck owner who needs to tow and haul would get a full size half ton

    • @quinnhowlett697
      @quinnhowlett697 5 років тому

      MrWaffleBrainz this is for city folks? Nah, this is for the people who want a great all around truck, it tows a decent amount, more than any other mid sized truck, it wheels good, and you can take your kids to soccer or whatever, it does it all...

    • @MrWaffleBrainz

      MrWaffleBrainz wait so city people are the only ones who have kids? Country folk are not allowed to have kids? I’m pretty sure having a kid does not make you city or country... smh...

    • @MrWaffleBrainz
      @MrWaffleBrainz 5 років тому

      @@quinnhowlett697 I never mentioned the word country person. I'm saying if you want an off-road rig you get a wrangler, you want to tow and haul everyday you get a full size. You live in the city and go off-road or tow once in a blue moon you get the gladiator, and your comment saying how the gladiator is an all rounder just proves it more

    • @quinnhowlett697
      @quinnhowlett697 5 років тому

      MrWaffleBrainz the gladiator being an all around truck doesn’t make it a “city” truck... people can have more than one vehicle, you can actually use the gladiator as a tow rig to tow your wrangler to the trails, and on days where you want the family you just wheel with the gladiator... the truck doing everything has nothing to do with city or country, it has everything to do with the application that people want to use it. Want to throw some hay or straw in the box? You can throw it in the gladiator, you can use the gladiator as a farm or work truck too... I think you’re just trying too hard to be that country bumpkin who thinks real country folks have a big lifted diesel for everything smh...

      Dude, the 3.6 has been around for decades at this point, they aren’t bad motors at all. The newer 8 speed transmissions are much better than the 5 and 6’s were 10 years ago. The biggest worry you could have with this car is electronics, and that’s just a FIAT thing, but honestly not that huge of a deal.
