But I’m pretty sure my 0-60 time is closer to my last truck a Colorado Crew Cab V6, that was nice at 7.2 sec. This Gladiator is definitely around 8 sec.

The diesel option will definitely be worth the wait, but I will admit, the supercharger completely woke up this animal! Nearly cut the 0-60 time in half

I think this option is good for us guys that could only afford the bare minimum on the JT (35k) and want to add some balls after our warranty is up in a couple years. I also have a manual transmission so with the no option manual diesel and likely no option hemi manual it makes the desicion that much easier to supercharge.

After adding 20” Fuel rims & 37” MT Nitto tires I’m getting around 13 MPG in Colorado & reprogrammed I was getting 15.8 MPG stock 17” rims with 33” tires. Will this Improve MPG any by making it easier to get the wheels moving? You can definitely feel the added weight.
I would be nervous about burning my engine. Heard some horror stories with some kits from Lite Brite and Exodus 4X4. If I need more power I think I would just do a HEMi 6.4 swap.
Hemi swap is a much more expensive job than supercharging the existing engine. There’s also a lot more room for error when doing a swap like that. Could take quite some time to complete a job like that. Magnuson has never encountered anything of that either
Lite Brite actually says they couldn't get the tune right when they turbocharged the 3.6. I guess there are so many maps and the tuning is very difficult and there wasn't much info available when they did it because the JL was still so new.
I know this is an old video post I’m hoping you get this message I’m curious how did the Engine hold up over the years? I know the Penstar engine is not the strongest but in stock form it’s OK, is there anyway you could give me an update on this this might be a good way to go if it’s reliable thanks for the video

I got a 2021 gladiator but I think it does not fit cause of the pcm connections there is any newer supercharge that fit those models or any other solution for that problem?
Unlike a turbo the exhaust won’t improve boost or performance of the supercharger. Yes it would sound better, but the owner is a bit older and doesn’t want a loud drony vehicle.
@@vivid_racing Quiet power, huh? Depends on what you do and the brand of mufflers. Some drone, some don't. The stock exhaust does look pretty restrictive , though. Opening it up with a downpipe and midpipe with some Borla tips would give it a bit of snarl under heavy throttle without that droning. If you know how to do it right,
I got my Jeep in Vegas getting a 6.2 LT1 Plan on putting the a2.9L whipple supercharger on it as soon as it’s done that will get me 520 hp to rear wheels can’t wait for it to be done
[EDIT: found the kit price. Not bad!] Thinking of adding this for our planned max tow gladiator. Can you quote the ballpark cost of the upgrade. Thanks Liked and Subscribed!
Apologies for the dumb question but is this an alternative to regearing after installing 37s or bigger? If that is the case I can see myself doing it...
Hey Martin, not sure if this is a direct alternative as they both have their own purposes! But you can never go wrong with more power from a supercharger! Thank you for watching.
Thank you for answering my biggest question, fuel economy. I dont have a lead foot, so to know that i can at least retain stock fuel economy or pick up 1 or 2mpg is good. So thanks for that.
I live in North Texas. If I wanted Vivid Racing to do my supercharger install are you in the Dallas/Fort Worth area? If not could you recommend a top notch installer in my area.
When you say hemi swap, I think you are talking about a 5.7 swap. If you are going to do a hemi swap, why wouldn't you just go for the 6.4? What is the price cost of 5.7 vs 6.4? Is a 6.4 swap carb legal in California? Just curious.
The 6.4L would be harder to source than a 5.7L as they were used in less Mopar vehicles. The cost difference would be significantly different as well. As far as smog laws, I am not 100% sure how the state of California will handle engine swaps
Anything not stock for the car is illegal in California. So unless a Gladiator comes with a v8, than you can only install a 3.6. That is why this supercharger is great, its 50CAL state legal. There is no v8 legal for a gladiator in California
A couple things to take note of the redline is 6600 so going to that woukd of probably got a bigger number. Plus dynos should be done in 6th gear , that is the1:1 ratio.
@@vivid_racing i was trying to explain to the other commentor why the pieer lecels wrrnt as high as advertised. Plus mustang dyno shows about 20 less than a dynojet style
Update: For any Gladiator after mid-2021, you can’t install this super charger because Stellantis changed the Computer Module and the Magnussen doesn’t currently support it. Per their website as of November 2022.
Does this require a stand alone ECU? Also, I may have missed it but what kind of boost? Any concerns on ringlands, rods or pistons holding up to the new stressors or did y’all forge it out?
Is there a down side to this,ie.... bottom end wear, or rotating mass wear. Great video, I have a Wrangler Rubicon with 90000. When you recommend it for this? Thanks
@@vivid_racing OK I was just wondering because I’m on a forum with a group of guys that was having all kinds of trouble with the Magnuson tune. They said it had all kinds of drivability issues. Most of them had it installed at a Magnuson installer and said it was a nightmare and months of back-and-forth with Magnuson and the installer trying to get it figured out. Some never did get the issues resolved and in the end just uninstalled the supercharger and flashed back to stock.
Asking in a constructive way....What do you say to those who swap for the hemi engines and say that superchargers are a waste of time and money because their power and torque peaks are reached at much higher rpms than in a base v-8 (5.7) hemi?
I dont think its a waste of money. Different budgets for different people. With new Jeep coming out with the Hemi, will be interesting to see what happens. But again, the best bang for the buck in adding horsepower with the supercharger.
Great video and love the way before and after stats are recorded. I've always loved Jeeps and now since the Gladiator, I am looking to get into this. I'm new to this whole supercharger thing but is $6700 an average price for one? 10 hours of labor is not cheap that's for sure. How much would a 5.7L V8 HEMI or Corvette engine cost with install?
I have a manual gladiator sport s all stock (3.73 gears) I'm looking for an improvement in my towing capacity. Would you recommend this? I need low end grunt. Truck is at 2000rpm in 5th at 65mph
How's the longevity of the engine with the super charger on? I've heard/seen others have major issues after installing turbos or supers, even with "proper" tuning.
Magnuson superchargers are extremely reliable with the tune that comes with the kit and the superchargers only require minimal routine maintenance throughout the years!
Is this carb legal? And I’ve seen this on the wrangler with same motor doing much more then 309 whp, is this one tuned down? Saw a test with it on a wrangler pentastar doing closer to 370 whp and 350 wtq. And I believe it’s the same magnuson tvs1900. It tested more than a 5.7 v8 hemi on the dyno.
Our power output was slightly lower due to the 110° heat in Arizona during our testing. As far as being carb legal, you would have to check with your local MVD.

It won't necessarily improve MPG but if you regear your vehicle you'll definitely see some improvements to the loss of power!
does it void warranty, I have a brand new gladiator 6 speed
Absolutely will
3 years later... How is this S.C. holding up? Is it still installed? Any engine issues?
Non time to buy one!
@@vivid_racing true, around 40k for a swap.
Lite Brite actually says they couldn't get the tune right when they turbocharged the 3.6. I guess there are so many maps and the tuning is very difficult and there wasn't much info available when they did it because the JL was still so new.
Hope the engine holds together.
Comes with 36k warranty through Magnuson any issues its warrantied
0-60 on my sport s with 35s stock is 8 seconds exactly judging by my tazer
Nice!
Mine too
Mine is a big gain. Mine hasn't been on a dyno. But it is a beast .513 gears with 37 turns them just fine
Sounds like it’s a blast to drive! 🤘🏼🙌🏼
Yea i love it .. next is a wide band
Link to install guide doesn’t work on your page.
Is there a place in the Republic of California, 925 7 1, an does this beast go over 97mph?
Why do you need to go over 97 in a Jeep, they built for 4x4 not for rice rocketing racing.
I know this is an old video post I’m hoping you get this message I’m curious how did the Engine hold up over the years? I know the Penstar engine is not the strongest but in stock form it’s OK, is there anyway you could give me an update on this this might be a good way to go if it’s reliable thanks for the video
I’ve been waiting for someone to put this in a gladiator been debating on it for mine for months I wanted some results before I got it thanks for the vid made my day to finally see one get put in
It truly wakes up the sluggish engine under the hood. Provides plenty of power to actually get up to speed now
I got a 2021 gladiator but I think it does not fit cause of the pcm connections there is any newer supercharge that fit those models or any other solution for that problem?
You really need to replace that piddly stock exhaust with a louder more free-flowing one. Would really complete this and give another little boost.
If you know how to do it right,
I'm looking at getting a Jeep Grand Cherokee L Summit 2021. Are there superchargers for this model?
I got my Jeep in Vegas getting a 6.2 LT1 Plan on putting the a2.9L whipple supercharger on it as soon as it’s done that will get me 520 hp to rear wheels can’t wait for it to be done
That will be an absolutely killer build! 🙌🏼 would love to see it once it’s done
Ya that 3.8 I had just wasn’t worth supercharger like the 3.6 is lol
Seems like 3.6 with 35s and under seems like bang per $ the way to go tho
MOTECH?
Is that super charming kit for 3.6 pentastar engine? And how it's charming fuel consumption?
Better MPG.
[EDIT: found the kit price. Not bad!]
Thinking of adding this for our planned max tow gladiator.
Can you quote the ballpark cost of the upgrade.
Thanks

So how much HP gains from stock 285?
Do you think the stock rear end and 37’s it would be fine? Also 4:10 tow package
Absolutely
Apologies for the dumb question but is this an alternative to regearing after installing 37s or bigger? If that is the case I can see myself doing it...
Hey Martin, not sure if this is a direct alternative as they both have their own purposes! But you can never go wrong with more power from a supercharger! Thank you for watching.
Anytime you get 37s you always change gears.
What axle ratio on that one? I have the max tow package with 410 axle. Thoughts on how that Magnuson would work with my setup. On 35s.
Max Tow, Rubicon and Mojave all run the same axle and gear sets. Only differences are OEM lockers on Rubi/Mojave.
Do you have to take apart top half and pulley of supercharger apart to replace oil filter?
You do not!
What about a base sport with 6 speed manual and 3.73 ratio? Anything (other than regearing) I need to do?
Why headlights are those? My 21 overland didn’t come with the ones with the ring

What are the long term numbers of running a supercharger?
Thank you for answering my biggest question, fuel economy. I dont have a lead foot, so to know that i can at least retain stock fuel economy or pick up 1 or 2mpg is good. So thanks for that.
No prob! Make sure to subscribe 👍
I live in North Texas. If I wanted Vivid Racing to do my supercharger install are you in the Dallas/Fort Worth area? If not could you recommend a top notch installer in my area.
Once you order we can help find a installer
Great job, how much is in labor ?
Is it street legal in Ca
Hi! Are you asking how much it costs in labor, or how difficult it is to install?
Is this system available for the 2004 jeep wrangler Rubicon with the manual transmission
Currently Magnuson only carries a kit for the JK and JL Wranglers
Does the supercharger make the jeep unreliable? How reliable is it? Does the supercharger need servicing? I'm interested...
No that jeep is still running around. A lot of R&D goes into these kits. Superchargers don’t need servicing. Yes hit us up sales@vividracing.com
A couple things to take note of the redline is 6600 so going to that woukd of probably got a bigger number. Plus dynos should be done in 6th gear , that is the1:1 ratio.
You sir are the winner!
Of being that guy.
@@vivid_racing i was trying to explain to the other commentor why the pieer lecels wrrnt as high as advertised. Plus mustang dyno shows about 20 less than a dynojet style
@@vivid_racing and im pretty sure magnuson has stock tires on to
20 less in this application i realize its a % loss
Update: For any Gladiator after mid-2021, you can’t install this super charger because Stellantis changed the Computer Module and the Magnussen doesn’t currently support it. Per their website as of November 2022.
Does this require a stand alone ECU? Also, I may have missed it but what kind of boost? Any concerns on ringlands, rods or pistons holding up to the new stressors or did y’all forge it out?
No they include ecu tuning which has been thoroughly tested
Can it tow more with this setup.
Got my 2022 Overland Monday. When do I get my supercharger?
Let’s do it! www.vividracing.com/index.php?keywords=Magnuson+jeep
Is there a down side to this,ie.... bottom end wear, or rotating mass wear. Great video, I have a Wrangler Rubicon with 90000. When you recommend it for this? Thanks
Great job Vivid Racing, we see from Chile, need to do any job with ECU?
Thanks for watching! Magnuson actually provides a tune with the kit!
The more interesting info will be day to day drivability. Magnuson was the same company that had a lot of drivability issues with their JK kits.
Prove it with facts
@@vivid_racing the proof is in the community. Get on the forums or visit the big off-road shows and do the research yourself. It's not hard to find.
@@vivid_racing In either case this was a good video. Before/after dyno tests and real-world 0-60's are simple yet overlooked by most other UA-camrs.
@@eddied.2100 That's not how this works...if you make a claim, and someone asks you to prove it, you don't ask them to prove your claim for you. :-)
How was it doing today? Troubles?
Did you use the tune that came with the kit? Did you have any trouble with that tune?
No issues from customer. We only do these with the proven tune Magnuson develops for their kits.
Need to get it done to mine. Just added 35's How much and does it cost ? kill the factory Warranty ?
Link in description for price. Magnuson gives u 3 year powertrain warranty
They say 20 grand for a legal hemi swap🤷🏻♂️
About 40k
@@MrT-jv6rf no way is it 40k. Unless you start with a 30k engine somehow
How compatible is this with the 6MT option? I'm thinking that the clutch would need to be upgraded to handle the power.
That’s my dream jeep how can I get one I burn up my credits and I ready neeed one maybe if I save my money 500 a month
Chase the dream! Thanks for watching 😉
It’s not like with a supercharger you are running around at full boost just cruising down the street, besides these motors can go a lot of miles.
They must of had shitty tuning thats it. Nothing rocket science about blown motor and bad tuning
