Have to say your videos have given me some hope I just started the wiring on my truck and I was super worried about the transmission part my donor was auto mine is a 5 speed I would say I felt over overwhelmed with the wiring you have given me confidence to sit down and review the information I have and try again
Nice job. I have an 89 Bronco 2 stored in my pole barn. Parted out a 94 Explorer. Swapped the running gear. Eventually I'll get to the 4.0 swap. For me and for safety I would get my kid a different vehicle due to the roll over problem the Bronco 2's have. Kids with little driving experience are prone to roll the Bronco 2. Just sayin.
Samuel, glad you are not scared it is really not that bad, take your time and be patient and take lots of pictures. It truly is worth the effort the 4.0 makes these BII's even better. Best of luck my friend
Nice job! Glad I stumbled across this video. I'm in the middle of doing the same thing to my '90 Bronco II. My truck is a manual, but i have an auto harness, so I'm expecting to run into some of the same issues you did. I did however locate a manual 4.0 computer, so it'll be interesting to see if I can just bypass the trans connections to make it think it's in neutral.
Thanks for watching my videos man I appreciate it. I am excited for you on this swap my little Bronco II runs like a scalded dog now. I wish Ford had done this in the first place. Best of luck on your swap and if I can help just let me know and I'll sure try to help.
My Bronco 2 just blew the waterpump and the engine overheated and is probably now junk, it had very many miles on it already (230 thousand miles). Really wanna keep the truck and thinking about doing the swap to 4.0. This video inspired me to maybe take on the project. Even thinkimg about going from 5 speed manual to an auto.
Joakim I can not recommend this conversion enough! My little BII had 318K miles on the stock 2.9 and was running pretty good, now it runs like it should the 4.0 is the engine Ford should have put in them. Good luck and be patient the conversion is not that hard ankds I will clarify anything from my videos I can.
@@risersgarage7004 thank you for the answer! Which transmission do you have in the Bronco II? I've got the mitsubishi fmwhatever and on some sites it is said to maybe be a bit weak with the 4.0. But I just replaced the clutch and slave cylinder on it and it is working fine. Maybe no need to change it as I will not do any hardcore offroading?
