Broncos actually run really good off-road, especially for a ford. I have an 89 and it can get over almost anything I throw at it. They are almost as good as 4 runners but not quite.
@icudbenewhere1 I have a 4 in. rough country lift very easy to do yourself and cheap.It is now locked front aand rear and with 31s it keeps up with jeep on 36s.
no cutting or anything? Some people say they are able to without, sometimes you need to trim a bit. Looking to put a cheap 2" suspension lift in to put some 31s on.
all bronco 2 friends i need help my 90 bronco 2 4 whell drive auto gave me a problem like killed my two batterys what happen i took alternator have it rebuild three times change start relay but still gave me big spark at the battery post every time i remove it must be something else some please help me please. thanks

I have got an all original 89 Bronco 2, perfect condition, and it has the 2.9L. Thing gets around just fine

I assume you didn't have the front sway bar on?
stock explorer springs front give 2" lift non a BII
You need a 4 in. lift and if you go bigger than 31's you will be going through alot of front axles
wish my b2, (exact same as that one) had enough power to be worth lifting
