Saw the original Lynyrd Skynyrd (before the plane crash)... This song is FANTASTIC. They were fantastic in concert! You should watch the live version from Oakland (even if you do it for your own personal enjoyment).
They have three guitar players, Gary Rossington, Allen Collins and Steve Gains, Allen wrote this song when he was 16. Allen is actually doing what some call lead with Gary on slide and Steve playing against Allen. Ronnie Van Zant lead singer song writer and general of the band. Leon Wilkinson on Bass. Laying rubber at every stop sign, stop light, and so on... Got to the highway and smashed up it like the cops were on our asses... My mom was literally smiling the entire time. Great memories.

usually enjoy your reactions and i Love Skynyrd and have seen many reactions to Freebird and that was the lamest most unexcited reaction to this explosive epic rocker that i've ever seen here
Southern Rock 😉 these boys are from Jacksonville, Fl - my neck of the woods.
Oh man, I wish you had done Oakland 1977 Live video! 🤦🏼♀️ The guitar solo and CROWD are insane. Song kinda feels like pushing a shopping cart up hill then throwing it off a cliff. 😂
damn, even 90s jay z doing reactions now.
Simple man
Yessss
Simple Man was the song I dedicated to my son at his wedding
Lynryd Skynyrd was my first concert of course his brother was the front man RIP Ronnie Van Zant, but when they played Simple Man all I could think about was how much I loved my son. You would think that rockn' out and crying at the same time would be hard, but it was the most raw and emotional human experience I'd ever had.🤘👅🖤
Please do the live Oakland Colleceium 1977 version! You will love it!
They melted together like butter
It's what we guitarists refer to as "jamming". Skynyrd was the master of the Three Guitar Army. Allen Collins directed that solo like a majordomo.
That Smell also has layered leads that are world class
Now ck out the live version at oakland colocium 76 i think? Even btr. Dan. Ps. Lov how the young lady smiled thu the whole thing! 😎😎
dude Tuesday gone , needle and the spoon, Ballard of Curtis Lowe great ones as well. it was the name of there high-school teacher that said they would never amount to anything. a band that became popular when half the group died in a plane crash😢 brother sang bc sounded just like his brother lead singer
My memory of this song was being in the passenger seat of my parent's Plymouth Roadrunner flying around the streets in the early 90s... My mother looked over and said "I'm gonna go clean the engine out, wanna come?" I said sure... I thought we were going to a garage... Noooooope... Laying rubber at every stop sign, stop light, and so on... Got to the highway and smashed up it like the cops were on our asses... My mom was literally smiling the entire time. Great memories.
You guys got to get the live video when they play in Atlanta Georgia from 1977
One of my favorites by them such a classic
Guitar Army ❤️
You have to watch a live Free Bird version like Knebworth or Oakland live version blows away studio version
This was always one of my dad's favorite songs, his "anthem" as he said. So it's the song I chose for his funeral. We played this and then played "My Way by Frank Sinatra" as they carried him out. If you haven't heard that... please react!
This song makes me cry everytime. We played it in the hospital too before he died.
had 2 really good lead guitar players, pretty rare but it worked-outstanding band
