i would also like to add that in other game modes like, duels and ELIM Nuxias Viablility is way better. things like her first feat in Elim seem really busted on paper. but all my videos are the state of a hero in dominion.

Nuxia is definitely one of those characters every game who’s kit is so fundamentally different, they are either underpowered or over powered with the balance being so slim most dev teams can’t find it, and it’s the fh dev team so…
She’s currently pretty good at what she does, imo catching people that you’re not locked onto in traps would put her in a very good spot. Good teamfights, very solid 1s offense, but below avg defense overall.

If the opponent followed up the deflected attack at all then the deflect would be confirmed. it’s like orochi’s heavy deflect back which was also a read in order to land it, but it had higher damage when it did land
the way I'd buff traps is let them trigger on attacks that are in the same direction as well, like if a guy just throws an attack in the same direction it'll be caught instead, maybe requiring a certain timing to get it right so it's not too op, think of it like a directional BP flip
Nuxia is definitely one of those characters where even the smallest change could have a drastic effect. She is quite a good character. I think her biggest hurdle for anyone trying to get into nuxia is the mindset required to play her. She isn't someone you can just throw attacks with and do well, you need to be able to read your opponent really well to make her shine. You know you've done it right when the opponent's health seems to have melted after you blink.
I agree, hole heartily. When I started playing her, I had to completely change my entire play style for her. Which not going to lie has made me a better player.
Suji definitly has a point with the suggested changes, especally the t4, making it infect others after a certain amout of ticks would also make the t3 a little better. Also, id love for her t1 to also buff damage in revenge situations.
Honestly making her t1 just buff her damage for every enemy nearby would just make it way more usable than if you have an ally anywhere near you you lose

I feel like the t3 should just flat out cancel dodges altogether to be honest, it would make it worthwhile and act as a unique and interesting mechanic for her to utilise since it’s a short cooldown anyway.

As a Nuxia main, my one change for Nuxia: Successful traps that are interrupted deal damage, half that of a successful trap, and successful traps can be cancelled with a dodge. (That's two but haha u fell for my trap) Nuxia is already a good duelist (explained below), so no buffs are needed there. These changes only effect ganking situations in, which is where she falters the most. Traps dealing damage when cancelled makes them not a downside to use in 1v2s and not a waste of a move when teammates interrupt you. You can also cancel the trap yourself with a dodge, synergizing with your deflects and dodge attacks, and assisting in Nuxia's anti-gank capabilities, which exist (explained below). Some details I would like mentioned: -Nuxia is actually good in duels. This is argued as such by top players like iiBeanii. The reason for this involves traps forcing people to make a choice that the Nuxia can always deal with. Yes, you can dodge, dodge attack, light/heavy, or change guard to deal with traps. However, Nuxia can GB punish, parry the attack, or let the heavy fly to deal with these options, with ALL of these leading to you landing a heavy with solid damage. If you can react, you can force the opponent into effectively a 50/50 where the wrong guess is 20+ damage to the face. Not perfect ofc, still not warden or shinobi or ocelotl tier, but she's still solid, and this is all to say that when considering buffing Nuxia, you must keep in mind that buffs should be focused on dominion. -Nuxia currently has a unique niche anti-gank use case. She is one of 2 characters (I said unique but Pirate has this too, I lied, trapped!) that has access to the t1 and t2 combination of Bounty Hunter and Thrilling Comeback. Bounty Hunter gives you 20 health on enemy kill, and Thrilling Comeback gives you 20 health upon entering revenge. If you trigger both of these in a fight, say a 1v2 where you activate revenge and kill someone thanks to revenge, you increase your effective health from 120 to 160. You also have a fast killing unique exe (faster than fastest universal), fast ending unique exe (same story), and perks like devourer and headhunter to further increase your bulk. Tactics to avoid feeding revenge are harder to justify because of the existence of traps, which greatly encourage enemies to interrupt, and counter passive blocking playstyles. You also have deflects and a unique parry counter, which again, can be useful in ganks. This build is demonstrated wonderfully by subwaysol. -Traps are very very similar to Ring the Bell. Think about it: Heavy softfeinted into something that can't be blocked or parried, but can be dodged, lighted, heav- ok not heavied, or guard cha- ok not guard change. Ring the Bell is basically non-directional lower-damage traps, traps are basically directional higher-damage RtB. -Nuxia is the least mobile Wu Lin character, despite being a member of the typically mobile assassin archetype. The other 4 Wu Lin have dodge attack cancels, extended dodges, a stance that functions as a dodge, and deflects, so Nuxia isn't even unique there. -They nerfed caltrops. That is the most recent balance change done to her. They decreased its duration and increased its cooldown. The most recent Nuxia change is a nerf. -Like you can just walk away from caltrops. Like its good in the minion lane but the minions don't care. It isn't meta. -Universally considered a very weak character, and the most recent change Nuxia has gotten is a nerf to a feat. - :c -Her fashion is also so hard to work with sometimes. So many uncustomizable colors. Only 4 chestpieces that are just reskins of eachother. -Her running footsteps are asmr though, music to the ears if you listen closely. Same with her slow clap emote.
Yay covering my favorite hero she needs some changes not a full rework because she could be a menace but she does need something against more competitive teams
I genuinely think nuxia would thrive off of having dodges like peacekeeper where pk's main objective is get bleed off through feints into top bleed, her guard break and heavy finishers, nuxia's objective is to set traps to break down defense to open up to more possibilities. If she could dodge a little sooner after a missed heavy or maybe dodge interrupt heavies. It wouldn't make her op but make people take her heavies more seriously. Or being able to dodge quicker after missing a trap.
personally i think that if they renamed her to freakxia and made her traps freak all over you instead of trapping she would immediately skyrocket to the best character in the game
I got 15 reps on nuxia and all I want is for her finishing heavies to be like orochi's old storm rush where if you dodge on the wrong side it catches you
I feel like her zone having ha and her finishers having undodgable would do a LOT for her adding pressure to discourage dodge attacks to remove her traps from the equation. Some people say she needs UB, I say that is not true because she is and hasn't been concerned about people blocking, but trap canceling into zone would counter some Dodge attacks early in chain and the finisher would FORCE people to deal with the heavy as a risk. Add a neutral bash to be safe as a opener but I feel like it would honestly not be needed just because the others would do a LOT to make Nux harder to shut down for 90% of the player base while keeping her traps her main focus.

Not quite as experienced as others, only 16 reps on her but from my pov you can choose several options. She needs enhanced lights so she can chain her heavy’s off as part of her base kit plus an option below: Option 1: make her traps undogable whilst nerfing her damage to them if hit on dodge, this would essentially convert the trap into an undogable light attack and stop dodge attacks meaning to counter the trap you either attack through it, guard break or change direction of the guard. Option 2: make the traps catch incoming attacks period. If someone tried to attack through a trap, wether in a solo or gank then the attack is caught and hooked, returning the damage of the incoming attack. This allows nuxia to have a solid ‘opener’ move and to be more defensive in a gank situation whilst still having dodges, dodge attacks, guard breaks and guard swaps as a means to stop the trap. The damage returned would normally be a light attacks worth however could be a heavy attack if an early heavy is thrown or a parry is attempted by the opponent misreading. Option 3: give nuxia dodge recovery from the traps. This doesn’t change her damage potential and only affects her repositioning in gank situations allowing for a higher survival rate Option 4: give nuxia a soft feint into an undogable light from a trap, rather like peacekeeper can with her heavy attacks. If the feint happens then the hook doesn’t connect but the light does for minimal damage, if the light isn’t feinted then then hook can connect with the higher damage at a risk that it could be dodged out of or guard broken. This is similar to option 1 to stop dodges and dodge attacks for little damage whilst maintaining the skill level and unpredictability that is required to play nuxia well. I personally feel from my experience that option 2 would be the best change for her if implemented with proportional damage numbers however option 3 is also a good option in gank situations while not increasing damage. Options 1 & 4 are aimed more at speeding up fights so a gank situation is less likely to happen as a pose to addressing her core issues of being weak in a multi party fight situation and having no real openers to use.
I think the best would be to give her a bash as fast as warlord and dodge recovery cancels after missed traps, dodge Attacks, her deflect and her light punish after parry Still has all her Identity and is way better now at least B if Not A tier
Really a hard character to balance, in 1vs1 she’s really menacing but she needs something that dont let players resort to light spam, maybe an undodgable on the finisher could be good.
An interesting change she could get is a dodge heavy hook attack in addition to the dodge light she has, it would have the same properties as a normal hook except it connects through enemy attacks and doesn’t deal much damage but throws to the floor or at least around like a heavy finisher. It would give her an opener that can’t be parried or attacked through whilst still allowing for it to be dodged. It also improves her gank repositioning, increasing her survivability.
I feel like nuxia doesn't really have a placein for honor because if you want a character that can open up defensive opponent you just pick orochi to open them up with mix-ups or open them up with a bash you just pick shaolin to open them up with mix-ups or a bash, if you want a defensive counter attack character you just pick bp because bp is like the defense character, you just pick kyoshin, and it's sad when you think about it. She has no unblockables other than the deflect, no undodgables, no reliable openers, no hope. Of course she does have hope if you're good enough but it's just depressing to know that every other character in the game can just do everything you can but better.
honestly im glad you guys were messing my traps up. i wrote that part before and getting clips i was like "fuck dude nobodys messing up my traps" so the 3 times it happened i was like "thank god"
A buff to her traps, I think, would be very useful would be the ability for the traps to catch anything thrown from the same gaurd side. You throw a heavy and feint it to a trap. The opponent throws an early heavy perhaps thinking you would have thrown a light. Now that heavy will get caught by the trap if it's thrown to your gaurd thats throwing the heavy. Or a person tries to light interrupt you and they throw it to your same gaurd you are throwing your zone or a heavy. If you feint to a trap it catches the light
I don't think she needs above to be honest not every character needs to be good to be used it's one of the reasons why I used to play Old Highlander the fact that he was just a bad character one of the reasons why I play lawbringer I like beating my opponent with nothing but skill I don't care about getting a win off of the character itself some characters don't need to just be easy what are videos man keep up the good work
I think nuxia only needs one of two things a slight light speed increase cause right now at even mid level lobby’s they’re relatively easy to parry or deflect, also I think making her finisher heavy unblockble but still able to be canceled into a trap which works as an opener but can still be easily countered as well as taking effort to enter so if you cut off her mixup early you can stop her also what might help would be a slight trap speed up but like you said it could cause issues visually
One thing I def would consider is making her finisher heavies undodgeable. Force the 50/50 of eating the finisher heavy and potential wall splat, or eat the finisher.
started playing for honor about a month ago, and saw Nuxia and went "ooh hook sword", and now im stuck in purgatory and cant bring myself to abandon her.
I played nuxia a good bit and i think I have a buff everyone could agree on, UNDODGABLE FINISHER HEAVYS FOR CHRIST SAKE, Just that alone i feel will help, and being able to chain her zone (Not trap version) straight into finisher heavys. Also maybe a tier 1 feat like afeera that grapples the enemy and could initiate chains like her third feat. Along with maybe a backwards dodge attack like orochi has (Not stormrush.) And or dodge cancel recoverys but not the broken ones (Not Orochis but Zhanhu’s Dodge cancels)
As a rep 80 Nuxia, it is pain but I still keep playin and tryna improve even if I'm dookie at her sometimes cause those JUICY zone traps give me serotonin
You could give her access to heavy finishers after a dodge attack like peacekeeper. You could also give her heavy finishers on guard break like jorm has.
The problem with the traps is the lack of hit stun on wiff so you get gb'd mid chain or eat a heavy. So maybe adding light hit stun but 0 damage on a wiff would help with the random af responses to the traps. At the same time, it would still use her amazing hitboxes hopefully helping with the just dodge lol people use against the traps. The only issue would be stun locking in ganks, so I'm not sure how to get around that.
Me and my mates were playing Nuxia and thinking about how to make her better we had a idea to make her last heavy either a unblocking or undodge we also thought that maybe making her trap undodge but that would make her traps to good most likely and giving her a bash or a side dodge heavy that also grapples
Nuxia became my fav dom character a while ago. Doing really well with her in duels and team fights too. Need to mention though that this is only my 4 stack experience with people who know how to play the game very well. Probs wouldn't be the same experience in solo queue haha :D
I can see the Nuxia issue of the traps could be much harder to solve the issues can be fixed to a degree besides speeding it up. I could suggest that if the swing (lights) and maybe punish emote users with them forcing the trap system to activate it. But that's just my possible idea that could work?
This may sound weird but what about something like Aramusha’s ring the bell or kensei’s top heavy light fiend into a bash? Like maybe making it a guessing game between whether or not she bashes or traps could be cool. Or hell maybe even give her a BP flip-like thing that only works if people hit the trap.
Just started playing nuxia. I rarely use her traps because its amess to use it and the stamina waste is trash. The dodge light workswonder then backstep into the zone which usually catches then run heavies. Also using caltrops on a point when getting ganked works wonders also.
Nuxia main here, I’ve wanted the heavy finishers to be undodgeable for a while now. I think that would make them more of a “read what the nuxia will do” and less of an “I’m just going to eat a guard break”
If I had to change Nuxia’s traps I would try making them undodgeable. The option of dodgine the traps is not her biggest problem, but it would give her an edge and stop spam dodge-attacks
Nuxia is my favorite shaolin by far. She takes skill to use at a high level, and even then sometimes its just GG when coming across an almighty reactard.

I feel like nuxia should have a forward bash (speed similar to Medjays staff bash) tripping the opponent and sending both weapons digging into the opponents bodies. It would be feintable. Like similar to Jorm. Because she doesn’t have no orange, no blue. Just Trap (which is useless)
My opinion: traps are solid and does not need to change Finisher Heavy is what needs to change: 1. Get rid of triple combo 2. Give the Shinoby treatment (Unblocable top, Undogeble side) 3. Speed up (or give huperarmor) the animation of finisher heavy It gives Nuxia more preasure for the 33/33/33 mixup (nothing/gb/trap)
First of all, her deflect used to be amazing. Extremely unique 33/33/33 where you can get blocked if they guess the direction, but if they don’t they’ll eat more damage than any other deflect in the game As someone with 8 reps on her, Nuxia is the most underrated character in the game. Definitely not the best out there but the 1s are very strong, especially if you consider her 1st feat giving her a damage buff in 1v1 situations
All she needs is enhanced lights and the heavy finisher should be undodgeable, I think the traps are fine how they are maybe they could make the animations shorter
So i just got her to rep 9 or so and here is my issues with trap so far 1. Black Priors can still option select you by using Bulwark Stance. They either flip you, or nothing fucking happens. It's a defensive tool, yet it was over looked despite Nuxia coming out before BP. 2. Any character with a fast zone can still just hit you out of your heavy before giving you time to trap. 3. If you start your zone, any mildly experienced fighter will literally just light you because the wind up is so slow. How i would fix traps? Well first off, let's start with making it work against Bulwark stance. The reason it doesn't work against it is because it removes your guard upon entrance. So make it keep it's guard but it's open. Like a parry. Second, make trap indicator take longer to show up. Don't speed it up, just reduce the time you have to react.
I’d like her zone to be two hits with the first hit being 600ms, I’d love dodge cancels just because she’s supposed to be a dancer turned into a warrior so she should have more movement than pirate
I just got an idea midway through the video. Lets say a hypothetical rework on her traps, leave the zone trap as is, big damage and long animation, but the heavy traps would be completely changed, lets say instead of catching an enemy if they blocked, her trap made her heavies unblockable instead? Think about it, it would give her a nice way to set up a combo because she could follow up the unblockable, or she could faint it in hopes of catching someone off guard for a gb or parry, or just throw a raw blockable heavy. I think this would keep her uniqueness and still let her zone be a big cause for caution.
Maybe give nuxia a new trap thatis made to hit people with no active guard. Let it be an undodgable bash that if the opponent has no active guard she trips the enemy. This could be what deals with what counters her normal traps.
First if even one of these changes were to happen the numbers of her kit would probably need to be adjusted. I understand that some of these ideas would be very powerful and possibly quite unbalanced i am thinking mainly from a fun perspective not a balance perspective. I think she is using her weapons wrong. The hook blades are very good at offence but also defence so give her a all guard and the ability to wall people on parry (like a weeker version of the heavy finisher but after any parry) The all guard would allow her to easily counter anyone trying to interrupt traps and the wall splating is just one more tool. As for an offens idea personally think the defence once would be more fun but if i had to make one i would maybe ikd make it so if you move your guard from the trap it still hits for like 1 damage putting you both in neutral. this would make Dodge the better option but she can easier get reads on that.
I think the best option would be to give chain heavy undodgeable. Damage would have to come down but it would make the mixup viable. Other than that I think the only way to fix her is a full rework
The thing that bugs me the most when I play her is how inconsistent her zone hitbox feels compared to how it looks. Fixing it would also enable her to punish people dodging on heavy timing by throwing a zone. At the moment that only works when they dodge to your left because for some reason the zone doesn't hit someone if they stand ever so slightly to your right feels like
Hey Raptor! I’ve made the horrid mistake of coming back to for honor and would like to see you cover jorm. Ever since his new rework I feel as if a core stamp of his character and his kit as a mixup punisher/disabled or at least once he was.
Surprisingly I can make Orochis turn back and prefer to avoid fighting me with Nuxia, try that even with Hitokiri and they'll exude some confidence in the match....with her it could go not so right sometimes, but she's great at demorolizing opponents.

Even if she sucks, I actually have a lot of fun playing as her. She can slightly delay her heavy attacks so that you can catch people dodging. It’s also very viable to let heavies fly
If they made at least one of her heavies undodgeable it wpuld make her so much better since you couldnt just dodge on heavy for the minimum punish (course the emote would still be there but idk it kinda funny)
She old asf by this point. But dev team is more focused on the newer heroes and just overall the more played heroes. If people played her she would probably get a rework.
Nuxia can be a little rewarding but it's a lot of work compared to how little work you do on other heroes in return for your damage. I like how you can delay nuxia heavies a lot, so much so that they can actually dodge catch. And uh. No wait, that's about it actually.
What about a bash trap? So it wont be a normal bash, a punishable bash thats slower that can be turned into a trap like like her heavies and zone. And maybe hyper armor in the mid chain heavy. Or undodgable.
What if trap just caught red indicators too? Would that be too overpowered? The weapon is technically still in that position so I think it makes sense. The oposing player would have to fent and dodge or feint and switch guard but it would be more of a read than just luck
I honestly think they should just axe the idea of the trap mechanic all together. Keep it on her zone to make her come a fun and interesting tool for ganking amd a fun flashy 50/50, but honestly they just need to give her some other kind of offence. I really don’t think making her another boring orange/blue mixup hero is a good idea, but maybe giving her enhanced lights and unblockable finisher heavies that still displace and wallsplat (like jorm) might not be a terrible idea

My first ever deflect while playing this game was with nuxia. And I deflected a kyo, bro just full blocked my deflect and I got clapped.

She is one of 2 characters (I said unique but Pirate has this too, I lied, trapped!) that has access to the t1 and t2 combination of Bounty Hunter and Thrilling Comeback. Bounty Hunter gives you 20 health on enemy kill, and Thrilling Comeback gives you 20 health upon entering revenge. If you trigger both of these in a fight, say a 1v2 where you activate revenge and kill someone thanks to revenge, you increase your effective health from 120 to 160. You also have a fast killing unique exe (faster than fastest universal), fast ending unique exe (same story), and perks like devourer and headhunter to further increase your bulk. Tactics to avoid feeding revenge are harder to justify because of the existence of traps, which greatly encourage enemies to interrupt, and counter passive blocking playstyles. You also have deflects and a unique parry counter, which again, can be useful in ganks. This build is demonstrated wonderfully by subwaysol.
-Traps are very very similar to Ring the Bell. Think about it: Heavy softfeinted into something that can't be blocked or parried, but can be dodged, lighted, heav- ok not heavied, or guard cha- ok not guard change. Ring the Bell is basically non-directional lower-damage traps, traps are basically directional higher-damage RtB.
-Nuxia is the least mobile Wu Lin character, despite being a member of the typically mobile assassin archetype. The other 4 Wu Lin have dodge attack cancels, extended dodges, a stance that functions as a dodge, and deflects, so Nuxia isn't even unique there.
-They nerfed caltrops. That is the most recent balance change done to her. They decreased its duration and increased its cooldown. The most recent Nuxia change is a nerf.
-Like you can just walk away from caltrops. Like its good in the minion lane but the minions don't care. It isn't meta.
-Universally considered a very weak character, and the most recent change Nuxia has gotten is a nerf to a feat.

I genuinely think nuxia would thrive off of having dodges like peacekeeper where pk's main objective is get bleed off through feints into top bleed, her guard break and heavy finishers, nuxia's objective is to set traps to break down defense to open up to more possibilities. If she could dodge a little sooner after a missed heavy or maybe dodge interrupt heavies. It wouldn't make her op but make people take her heavies more seriously. Or being able to dodge quicker after missing a trap.

I feel like her zone having ha and her finishers having undodgable would do a LOT for her adding pressure to discourage dodge attacks to remove her traps from the equation.
Some people say she needs UB, I say that is not true because she is and hasn't been concerned about people blocking, but trap canceling into zone would counter some Dodge attacks early in chain and the finisher would FORCE people to deal with the heavy as a risk.
Add a neutral bash to be safe as a opener but I feel like it would honestly not be needed just because the others would do a LOT to make Nux harder to shut down for 90% of the player base while keeping her traps her main focus.

I wish some of the executions used some of the moves from the kit. Like an execution that your character deflects an attack
Not quite as experienced as others, only 16 reps on her but from my pov you can choose several options. She needs enhanced lights so she can chain her heavy’s off as part of her base kit plus an option below:
Option 1: make her traps undogable whilst nerfing her damage to them if hit on dodge, this would essentially convert the trap into an undogable light attack and stop dodge attacks meaning to counter the trap you either attack through it, guard break or change direction of the guard.
Option 2: make the traps catch incoming attacks period. If someone tried to attack through a trap, wether in a solo or gank then the attack is caught and hooked, returning the damage of the incoming attack. This allows nuxia to have a solid ‘opener’ move and to be more defensive in a gank situation whilst still having dodges, dodge attacks, guard breaks and guard swaps as a means to stop the trap. The damage returned would normally be a light attacks worth however could be a heavy attack if an early heavy is thrown or a parry is attempted by the opponent misreading.
Option 3: give nuxia dodge recovery from the traps. This doesn’t change her damage potential and only affects her repositioning in gank situations allowing for a higher survival rate
Option 4: give nuxia a soft feint into an undogable light from a trap, rather like peacekeeper can with her heavy attacks. If the feint happens then the hook doesn’t connect but the light does for minimal damage, if the light isn’t feinted then then hook can connect with the higher damage at a risk that it could be dodged out of or guard broken. This is similar to option 1 to stop dodges and dodge attacks for little damage whilst maintaining the skill level and unpredictability that is required to play nuxia well.
I personally feel from my experience that option 2 would be the best change for her if implemented with proportional damage numbers however option 3 is also a good option in gank situations while not increasing damage. Options 1 & 4 are aimed more at speeding up fights so a gank situation is less likely to happen as a pose to addressing her core issues of being weak in a multi party fight situation and having no real openers to use.
I think the best would be to give her a bash as fast as warlord and dodge recovery cancels after missed traps, dodge Attacks, her deflect and her light punish after parry
Still has all her Identity and is way better now at least B if Not A tier
Really a hard character to balance, in 1vs1 she’s really menacing but she needs something that dont let players resort to light spam, maybe an undodgable on the finisher could be good.
An interesting change she could get is a dodge heavy hook attack in addition to the dodge light she has, it would have the same properties as a normal hook except it connects through enemy attacks and doesn’t deal much damage but throws to the floor or at least around like a heavy finisher. It would give her an opener that can’t be parried or attacked through whilst still allowing for it to be dodged. It also improves her gank repositioning, increasing her survivability.

I feel like nuxia doesn't really have a placein for honor because if you want a character that can open up defensive opponent you just pick orochi to open them up with mix-ups or open them up with a bash you just pick shaolin to open them up with mix-ups or a bash, if you want a defensive counter attack character you just pick bp because bp is like the defense character, you just pick kyoshin, and it's sad when you think about it. She has no unblockables other than the deflect, no undodgables, no reliable openers, no hope. Of course she does have hope if you're good enough but it's just depressing to know that every other character in the game can just do everything you can but better.
On the Australian servers, i was the first rep 60 nux when the character was released in the known competitive scene

A buff to her traps, I think, would be very useful would be the ability for the traps to catch anything thrown from the same gaurd side. You throw a heavy and feint it to a trap. The opponent throws an early heavy perhaps thinking you would have thrown a light. Now that heavy will get caught by the trap if it's thrown to your gaurd thats throwing the heavy. Or a person tries to light interrupt you and they throw it to your same gaurd you are throwing your zone or a heavy. If you feint to a trap it catches the light
I don't think she needs above to be honest not every character needs to be good to be used it's one of the reasons why I used to play Old Highlander the fact that he was just a bad character one of the reasons why I play lawbringer I like beating my opponent with nothing but skill I don't care about getting a win off of the character itself some characters don't need to just be easy what are videos man keep up the good work
I think nuxia only needs one of two things a slight light speed increase cause right now at even mid level lobby’s they’re relatively easy to parry or deflect, also I think making her finisher heavy unblockble but still able to be canceled into a trap which works as an opener but can still be easily countered as well as taking effort to enter so if you cut off her mixup early you can stop her also what might help would be a slight trap speed up but like you said it could cause issues visually

started playing for honor about a month ago, and saw Nuxia and went "ooh hook sword", and now im stuck in purgatory and cant bring myself to abandon her.
And nuxia the finest character in the game bar none
I played nuxia a good bit and i think I have a buff everyone could agree on, UNDODGABLE FINISHER HEAVYS FOR CHRIST SAKE, Just that alone i feel will help, and being able to chain her zone (Not trap version) straight into finisher heavys. Also maybe a tier 1 feat like afeera that grapples the enemy and could initiate chains like her third feat. Along with maybe a backwards dodge attack like orochi has (Not stormrush.) And or dodge cancel recoverys but not the broken ones (Not Orochis but Zhanhu’s Dodge cancels)
As a rep 80 Nuxia, it is pain but I still keep playin and tryna improve even if I'm dookie at her sometimes cause those JUICY zone traps give me serotonin
You could give her access to heavy finishers after a dodge attack like peacekeeper. You could also give her heavy finishers on guard break like jorm has.
The problem with the traps is the lack of hit stun on wiff so you get gb'd mid chain or eat a heavy. So maybe adding light hit stun but 0 damage on a wiff would help with the random af responses to the traps. At the same time, it would still use her amazing hitboxes hopefully helping with the just dodge lol people use against the traps. The only issue would be stun locking in ganks, so I'm not sure how to get around that.
Shortening or Speeding the trap animation would be a solid change ngl

Me and my mates were playing Nuxia and thinking about how to make her better we had a idea to make her last heavy either a unblocking or undodge we also thought that maybe making her trap undodge but that would make her traps to good most likely and giving her a bash or a side dodge heavy that also grapples
Nuxia became my fav dom character a while ago. Doing really well with her in duels and team fights too. Need to mention though that this is only my 4 stack experience with people who know how to play the game very well. Probs wouldn't be the same experience in solo queue haha :D

I can see the Nuxia issue of the traps could be much harder to solve the issues can be fixed to a degree besides speeding it up. I could suggest that if the swing (lights) and maybe punish emote users with them forcing the trap system to activate it. But that's just my possible idea that could work?
This may sound weird but what about something like Aramusha’s ring the bell or kensei’s top heavy light fiend into a bash? Like maybe making it a guessing game between whether or not she bashes or traps could be cool. Or hell maybe even give her a BP flip-like thing that only works if people hit the trap.
Just started playing nuxia. I rarely use her traps because its amess to use it and the stamina waste is trash. The dodge light workswonder then backstep into the zone which usually catches then run heavies. Also using caltrops on a point when getting ganked works wonders also.
Nuxia main here, I’ve wanted the heavy finishers to be undodgeable for a while now. I think that would make them more of a “read what the nuxia will do” and less of an “I’m just going to eat a guard break”
If I had to change Nuxia’s traps I would try making them undodgeable. The option of dodgine the traps is not her biggest problem, but it would give her an edge and stop spam dodge-attacks
Nuxia is my favorite shaolin by far. She takes skill to use at a high level, and even then sometimes its just GG when coming across an almighty reactard.

I feel like nuxia should have a forward bash (speed similar to Medjays staff bash) tripping the opponent and sending both weapons digging into the opponents bodies. It would be feintable. Like similar to Jorm. Because she doesn’t have no orange, no blue. Just Trap (which is useless)

My opinion: traps are solid and does not need to change
Finisher Heavy is what needs to change:
1. Get rid of triple combo
2. Give the Shinoby treatment (Unblocable top, Undogeble side)
3. Speed up (or give huperarmor) the animation of finisher heavy
It gives Nuxia more preasure for the 33/33/33 mixup (nothing/gb/trap)
First of all, her deflect used to be amazing. Extremely unique 33/33/33 where you can get blocked if they guess the direction, but if they don’t they’ll eat more damage than any other deflect in the game
As someone with 8 reps on her, Nuxia is the most underrated character in the game. Definitely not the best out there but the 1s are very strong, especially if you consider her 1st feat giving her a damage buff in 1v1 situations
All she needs is enhanced lights and the heavy finisher should be undodgeable, I think the traps are fine how they are maybe they could make the animations shorter
So i just got her to rep 9 or so and here is my issues with trap so far
1. Black Priors can still option select you by using Bulwark Stance. They either flip you, or nothing fucking happens. It's a defensive tool, yet it was over looked despite Nuxia coming out before BP.
2. Any character with a fast zone can still just hit you out of your heavy before giving you time to trap.
3. If you start your zone, any mildly experienced fighter will literally just light you because the wind up is so slow.
How i would fix traps?
Well first off, let's start with making it work against Bulwark stance. The reason it doesn't work against it is because it removes your guard upon entrance. So make it keep it's guard but it's open. Like a parry.
Second, make trap indicator take longer to show up.
Don't speed it up, just reduce the time you have to react.
I’d like her zone to be two hits with the first hit being 600ms, I’d love dodge cancels just because she’s supposed to be a dancer turned into a warrior so she should have more movement than pirate
I just got an idea midway through the video. Lets say a hypothetical rework on her traps, leave the zone trap as is, big damage and long animation, but the heavy traps would be completely changed, lets say instead of catching an enemy if they blocked, her trap made her heavies unblockable instead? Think about it, it would give her a nice way to set up a combo because she could follow up the unblockable, or she could faint it in hopes of catching someone off guard for a gb or parry, or just throw a raw blockable heavy. I think this would keep her uniqueness and still let her zone be a big cause for caution.
Maybe give nuxia a new trap thatis made to hit people with no active guard. Let it be an undodgable bash that if the opponent has no active guard she trips the enemy. This could be what deals with what counters her normal traps.
I think that if they gave her better dodge recovery after traps it would help her
what about instead of trapping in one guard position make the trap in two and/or make emotes be trappable.
First if even one of these changes were to happen the numbers of her kit would probably need to be adjusted.
I understand that some of these ideas would be very powerful and possibly quite unbalanced i am thinking mainly from a fun perspective not a balance perspective.
I think she is using her weapons wrong. The hook blades are very good at offence but also defence so give her a all guard and the ability to wall people on parry (like a weeker version of the heavy finisher but after any parry)
The all guard would allow her to easily counter anyone trying to interrupt traps and the wall splating is just one more tool.
As for an offens idea personally think the defence once would be more fun but if i had to make one i would maybe ikd make it so if you move your guard from the trap it still hits for like 1 damage putting you both in neutral. this would make Dodge the better option but she can easier get reads on that.
I think the best option would be to give chain heavy undodgeable. Damage would have to come down but it would make the mixup viable. Other than that I think the only way to fix her is a full rework

The thing that bugs me the most when I play her is how inconsistent her zone hitbox feels compared to how it looks. Fixing it would also enable her to punish people dodging on heavy timing by throwing a zone. At the moment that only works when they dodge to your left because for some reason the zone doesn't hit someone if they stand ever so slightly to your right feels like
The timing on it before it's actually a threat is so ridiculous too. More than half the time I'm just hit out of the start up animation

I’ve made the horrid mistake of coming back to for honor and would like to see you cover jorm. Ever since his new rework I feel as if a core stamp of his character and his kit as a mixup punisher/disabled or at least once he was.
Surprisingly I can make Orochis turn back and prefer to avoid fighting me with Nuxia, try that even with Hitokiri and they'll exude some confidence in the match....with her it could go not so right sometimes, but she's great at demorolizing opponents.
for a character built around punishing defensive play the lack of unblockables is really weird to me but at the same time i have 0 idea how they would even implement that
Even if she sucks, I actually have a lot of fun playing as her. She can slightly delay her heavy attacks so that you can catch people dodging. It’s also very viable to let heavies fly

Nuxia can be a little rewarding but it's a lot of work compared to how little work you do on other heroes in return for your damage. I like how you can delay nuxia heavies a lot, so much so that they can actually dodge catch. And uh. No wait, that's about it actually.
What about a bash trap? So it wont be a normal bash, a punishable bash thats slower that can be turned into a trap like like her heavies and zone. And maybe hyper armor in the mid chain heavy. Or undodgable.
The one thing i think nuxia needs is an undodgeable and i think it should be only on her heavy finisher otherwise it would be so broken imo

What if trap just caught red indicators too? Would that be too overpowered? The weapon is technically still in that position so I think it makes sense. The oposing player would have to fent and dodge or feint and switch guard but it would be more of a read than just luck

I honestly think they should just axe the idea of the trap mechanic all together. Keep it on her zone to make her come a fun and interesting tool for ganking amd a fun flashy 50/50, but honestly they just need to give her some other kind of offence. I really don’t think making her another boring orange/blue mixup hero is a good idea, but maybe giving her enhanced lights and unblockable finisher heavies that still displace and wallsplat (like jorm) might not be a terrible idea
