Do you like selling on eBay? Tell me your story!
BTW, the buyer did pay the same day and they have not asked to return it. So far so good!
UPDATE: After 3 days of this video being live It has made $1,131.17 in adsense revenue. That brings me from a loss of $188 to a profit of $943.17 in less than a week. Let me know if you would like me to continue to update the adsense revenue numbers. I expect this video to continue bringing in revenue for years.

No i personally only sell items that won't sell locally, i sold a oem Carplay Navigation for a nissan about 6 months or so, but the buyer complained she wasn't able to install it because it required some wiring, then she opens a case, and ebay sides with me because i stated in the description no buyers remorse and professional installation required and ebay closes the case, And now 2 weeks ago she made a request to her bank that i sold her an item not as described and paypal went ballistic to me, they asked for proof and all, i sent them, and now they said it could take 75 days to resolve the issue.
But the funny part is that PAYPAL Has the Case "Open" yet they want me to pay them for the item Even thought ebay once sided with me, and they said if i don't pay them i could go to collections and i really want to sue them for their unfair practices.

I've been using Mercari more lately as it requires the buyer to pay immediately. It's all fixed price listing, not auction style, but I've had better luck with that. It does have it's own scammers, but mainly it's just people with sob stories like "my husband just left us, my children have 8 forms of cancer each, and trying to raise money for an orphanage in Guatemala. Can you lower the price by 99% and include free shipping please?"

Interesting hearing your eBay experiences. I've seen it all too. Had a buyer return an item I sold as "for parts" because they couldn't fix it. Had countless people never pay. Had even more dispute the product after winning trying to get a better price. I've had far too many bad experiences that now I'm sticking to local listings.

    • @Tronicsfix
      @Tronicsfix  3 роки тому +78

Yep, I hear stories like that from all over. The only reason eBay is still around is because they have such a large user base. It sucks that any buyer can rip off any seller if you know how to get around the rules.

i sold a switch last year for almost $50 less than the going price at the time. immediately after it sold, the buyer messaged me asking if i would throw in some games for free. i declined and sent it to him and shortly after, he opens a claim that it was broken, water damaged, whole ten yards and asked for a 50% refund or he threatened negative feedback. i declined so he gave me negative feedback and wouldn't you know it, a week later, it was listed on ebay (serial number confirmed) for the full going price and none of the issues he claimed to have were listed.

People are like that, generally stupid lazy and incredibly dense. I have sold a lot of stuff and pride myself in the attention to detail I put in my ads, primarily to spare me the questioning of all the obvious things. Despite my effort, there's always someone who will just ignore whatever I wrote and proceed by asking me things that are already answered in the ad. I usually reply "read the ad" because the alternative is "are you illiterate?

@@Tomazack I just don't reply at all, in the hope that they'll go away instead of buying the item. If I answer, and they buy it, they're likely to be a pain in the butt later too.
My favorite is the "will you accept (drastically lower price) for the item?" message. Do you notice that there was no "make an offer" button on my listing? That's because I'm not willing to accept anything but what I listed the item for.
That, and because letting people make offers means they can sit on the offer, claiming they're going to buy it without actually checking out and paying for it. Same problem as auctions - people win and then just don't pay, so I'm stuck waiting around to relist. I refuse to do either anymore: everything gets listed buy it now and the seller must pay immediately.

@@Tronicsfix I think it's still surprising because there isn't a very good reason for it. There were less than 50 words in the description, where it clearly states 'console only' and even spells out what that means in greater detail (no controller or cables). Then the buyer has the audacity to say that they can't tell if it comes with cables from the description because it's too vague, but the description literally says "no controller or cables". From what I saw, there also weren't any pictures of cables in the posting.

Ha, ha...normally I'd love it but when I buy them to try and fix it's pretty frustrating when they aren't broken, lol. Hopefully the buyer doesn't try to return it. It's baffling to me the number of people who buy things but don't actually read the description of when they are buying.

Tuned in to watch you do your magic with a broken console and the video morphed into a how to sell on eBay tutorial which was great and a how to deal with rude dumb asses who purchase on eBay which frustrated me. This is so typical of folks’ behavior. Please just read the description before you bid! Great video. Would love to know if you even got paid.

I REALLY wish console design would look more like this in general. Who the hell want's a White semi-gloss box that gets scratched when you accidentally set a remote down on it too hard. This thing could have actual gouges out of it and still look great.

I've had a few items that I sold that were clearly labeled "used" and "no returns" and the buyer contact me after they got it saying, "I don't like or want it anymore, can I have a refund?"
Sorry pal, I'm not a store. Pictures and descriptions were there, look before you buy. I've bought things and then didn't like them. But if there's no problem with it I kept it or sold it.

I don't mind doing some things for buyers but sometimes they can be a little annoying. Once I sold an action replay I didn't know how to fix. The person wanted to return it,they sent back a broken usb cable! EBay did give me the money (after I had to call them about giving the buyer a refund for the wrong item!)

  • @TN_AU

I bid on an item which the seller thought they would get a lot more for. They did have a make an offer, the offer I made was actually more than what I won the auction at, I was the only bidder.
I paid, then seller supposedly sent the goods, never turned up, local post said only the shipment details was sent but no records of the item ever being handed over for shipping.
Guy takes every 2 days to respond with half assed answeres, got fed up, opened dispute, got my money back, he didnt seem to care, unfortunate it came to this, he had over 1000 positive feedback.
