Everyone always talks about Khezu's blindness leading to the absence of music but ngl I'm a bit disappointed you didn't mention how its lack of sight also affected the hunter's abilities in 1st and 2nd gen. Since he can't "spot" you, your character doesn't receive the adrenaline boost they normally get when facing large monsters and can't perform the invincible superman dive. You effectively lose your "Get out of jail free"-card and it teaches you to be aware of the monster's moves as well as your own limitations. Barely anyone ever points that out.
It is something I legit forgot about
I really wish they kept this in the newer games. It added a level of uniqueness and difficulty to the fight.

The Khezu or Gigginox question is one I'll keep answering the same way.
Give me Khezu AND Gigginox in a game together. Give them a turf war and give each of them a new subspecies that shows off their differences more strongly while adding a new wrinkle to their respective fights.

It's like the shambler from Quake. It's a horrifying bloody monster but for some reason we all think it's adorable
To be honest I thought Gigginox would have returned in sunbreak it would have been perfect seeing him in the citadel
He could have returned to Iceborne too. Alas :(

i think they could have made Khezu better in rise, like if he was only ever outside the caves at night, or if he had more cave to work with to allow for his unique ceiling moves
That's kind of an issue Barioth has too.
@@HeavyWings with Barioth i wish they brought back his ambush mechanic from Tri, make him feel like a looming predetor on the ice, but i guess it would be seen as a less cool rip off of valstrax if they brought it back i guess
I'd like to see a turf war between Khezu and Gigginox. With how quick Gigginox can reproduce it wouldn't be surprising to see it invading other monsters territory and expanding
not having s when superman jumping was the reason red khezu became a wall i could never overcome in MHFU, that was an element of khezu fights that always terrified me

Not sure if this has been said already, but another cool addition with gigginox is that when he enrages his head becomes harder and his tail becomes a big weakpoint
2:50 This made me remember how scary Tri was back when I was a kid, the dark caves having to be lit up by torches was a really nice feature that really added to the grittiness. I hope they try something like this again in a future game!
Ohhh i really love Khezu. I remember fighting him in Monster Hunter 1, that u had to create a Vespoid armor piece to unlock him. He was really really hard on that game cause u had less mobility than now and his health pool was really large. I remember using Dung Bombs on the floor to distract Khezu, cause he's blind tho

His thunder attacks leave you on the ground for like 10 secs and his roar makes you curl up on the ground
(All Zenith roars do that)
And he also has super Thunderblight that makes you DIE FROM A HEART ATTACK.
I would love to see them have a turf war against each other, hopefully in later games
I think a turf war between the two would make me very uncomfortable haha
Turf war where they coil their necks around each other and try to pull back but end up yanking themselves together and crashing into a heap

Khezu is the one monster that DIRELY needs to change, and Capcom won't change it. Even the other old monsters like Diablos and Rathalos have gotten complete moveset overhauls, but Khezu is still doing its MH1 moveset, much to the annoyance of pretty much every blademaster. His entire moveset is basically just "Get off me! REEEE!" moves or "haha Imma scream again for the 15th time".
Capcom, PLEASE, bring back Giginox or rework Khezu so he's not the senile old man yelling at kids on his lawn anymore.
In fairness, Khezu is encountered near the early parts of the game. He doesn't need to change that much if he does his job, similar to the Bear trio.

Khezu’s one of my favourites, not because it’s cool, or that it’s fight is fun or anything, but the fact that it forces you to respect it.
If you expect it to be like the rest of the monster gang, albeit on the slow side, it will remind you not to be too cocky by paralysing, stunning and thoroughly kicking your ass.
My favourite MH past-time is joining LR parties and observe them fighting Khezu. I’ll pretend to help but I’m just there to watch their first Khezu experience.
Addendum: I don’t expect anyone to cart 3 times to Khezu, really, he’s not difficult. But it sure is funny when it does happen.
A lot of earlier monsters are like that, Plesioth in particular is notable

Fun Fact: The Red Khezu is the original Khezu, and the white Khezu is the subspecies, but there’s less red Khezu, most likely because the white Khezu’s camouflage better in the snowy environment.

I was sad that Khezu wasn't in World. Good to see that he's in Rise though. Looking forward to hunting him again once it hits Game Pass.
That conclusion segment with all the screaming was top notch, 10/10 video.
Also I had no idea that baleful also had meaningful part breaks. I like that, and I hope that he and his main species get into the next game instead of that boring white bastard.
I didn't know about the part break thing either but it was cool to discover. I really hope we see them again.

@@liothetitanhunter7959 Who would he fight ? Aknosom ? he's not a territorial monster, the only monster who i could see a Turf War happening with is : Gigginox, cuz they both live most of their lives in caves, but he's not in the game....
I really can’t understand why they wouldn’t put Khezu and Gigginox in the same game.
They both fill similar niches. Same reason people blame Magma Almudron for Agnaktor not being in, although that's likely down to technical issues as well.

Another thing to watch out for when fighting Rise/Sunbreak Khezu is that the paralysis bolts can climb walls now (I learned that one the hard way)

I like Khezu and Giggonox about equally. I appreciate the niche they fill and hope Gigginox gets some time shine again. Gigginox weapons were also interesting in design and its armour sets, both high and G rank designs, would have been a good fit for Sunbreak.
Personally I do also hope in a future title we get a blind cave dwelling Fanged Wyvern or a Leviathan based on the Olm Salamander to add to the cave cast.
Viper Tobi Kadachi is fine on its own, but admittedly is the most dissapointing entry. After fighting Viper Tobi the first time I thought it maybe developed such potent toxins for a defensive reason. That there was maybe something worse in the Hoarfrost's caves. It have been an interesting twist, but it was just Viper Tobi there.
it should be noted that khezu's fireball swings in sunbreak can be done as a combo from his roar
I don't like Khezu but love Gigginox. Really wish Giggi would come back.

Khezu’s theme is a banger
Khezu is straightup Silent Hill monster design, not to mention the bodytype is pretty much that of gypceros (excluding the leech head-and-neck)
Gigginox feels more like it belongs to MH, and the eggsack ability is a very nice addition to the gameplay/ecology.
Honestly Gigginox and especially Pale Gigginox we’re huge walls for me in 3U

i loved fighting khezu with bow it was really easy and satisfying i did it in low, high and g rank and farm for pokke points with the wyvern sobs

The best thing went you fight khezu was the music that the best music ever in every monster hunter series even went you sleep you can still listening the khezu song ost that truly nightmare.

Y'know whats the real kicker for me with khezu?
I absolutely hated to fight this... Thing back old gen. But ever since that one guy quit the game because he failed against khezu i can't hate him anymore. (BTW from what I heard back then

Khezu definitely is a love or hate monster. But I am still curious how this guy is more popular in Japan than most flagships.....
But one thing is for sure: he has the best theme in the series. By far. Always a Bop and always like to listen to it.

I recall reading something about hiw Red Khezu is actually the base species and that the white Khezu is the subspecies.
Something about how their skin turns white and that red is their natural color.
It Also has a pseudo Bloodbath cut Roar on Sunbreak

The very first monster I've ever hunted, the very first quest I took on MHF2, along the time my brother introduced me to this game, and HBG is the very first weapon I used. He will never be not horrifying to me, especially in G-rank

Gigginox was one of the first monsters I ran into (in some 3rd gen Demo I believe) and I've had a soft spot for it ever since. Conversely I really dislike Khezu, it just looks so oddly chonky for what it is.
Especially in Rise! They made him quite chubby in this one

I had only played rise so I can't say much but I do love khezu so I might like the other dude[that I forgot his name]. But imagine how those two will fight if they cross pass might be interesting to see. I would love to see it

I’m kinda glad Gigginox is gone cuz it was a real pain to fight in portable 3rd, I really love the design of its equipments tho… Khezu’s fight is more enjoyable in my opinion. Really love the fight in Freedom Unite.

It's a running gag of sorts. In the 1st and 2nd gen games, a large monster's given theme (or just the area theme) would not play if it did not see you. Khezu is blind, and therefore he cannot "see" you. However, it does not need sight to know where you are...it relies on a keen sense of smell.

Actually the red is the regular version and the white which is an albino is the sub species.. Red is the natural color of Khezus.. Did you know know that the monster Khezu was inspired by the Falls Hydra?..
Khezu is best fought at range. Crag/sticky, cluster and fire element ammo works best against him

Does the Khezu have a retractable neck spine?
Unfortunate thing about khezu is that he is product of low budget (I guess), Tigrex skeleton definitely works better, while giginox are trying to be different than khezu, glow in the dark is cool but when you are an ambush predator having it in otherwise dark cave is strange thing to have
i think khezu doesnt feels the same like old generation anymore even in the first game
he is slow and easily killed as gunner...this doesnt help where in future generation...hunter become more flexible and versatile while khezu just add few attacks but remain his slowliness...but in older generation the fight feels more intense because no eye-mark? meaning? no superman jump
but perks is not panic run so easier stamina management). They need to bring back that vibe seriously...khezu is outdated monster that only viable in older generation where hunter is slow as well. He seriously need to be revamped

The new ones so mcuh crepier the old one looks slightly more tough the skin looks thicker but the new one it’s veiny Thin skin

Personally i would prefer to fight khezu than gigginox... Khezu felt less scary and didn't need to pack much rss while his fight was simple like his design.
But i cant hunt giggi without full 10 antidote and if you dont count his minions can be annoying if you keep the egg, also while normal your weapon get bounce if you hit tail, in rage its the opposite.
I did fight baleful giggi (if i type right) quite recently and he is still hard cuz he paralyzes instead of just zap you.
But because of giggi difficulty i enjoy fighting him more and really avoid fighting him compared to khezu

Gigginox is probably my favourite monster in the series. It really is very creepy, looks like an actual monster.
Khezu looks like a pale, featherless chicken in comparison.
