I've never seen this before other than Olympic style. Two things impressed me 1. His calm skill and 2. His instant brakes when opponent taps. More fighters could use that integrity.

It seems like they tapped so quick to those heel hooks. Maybe he just has it so locked in that they know it's not worth the rehab. My understanding is that a fully executed heel hook tears all the tendons in the knee.

Amazing how roids and skill can make a champion. Ryan would NOT be a champion without the juice. Most of the escapes and submissions he's had, had to do SOLELY with strength. If he were natural he'd be the size of Israel Adesanya at best.

Doesn't hurt that his forearms are cricket bats and he could probably apply a choke if he just waved at you hard enough.

It's with one arm. You can see his giant forearm is under the chin. GR muscles are all fine tunned for squeezing. He doesn't need two arms to submit someone from the back.
