This plant is native to my country, Vietnam, and it's so great to see you managed to get it that big in the UK. Personally begonia is not my thing, mostly because of how hairy the leaves are 😭
Ohhh yay, glad you approve especially if it is local to your country, it tells me that hopefully I am doing something right 😊😊😊😊 yeah hairy begonias are definately not for everyone.
Hi Memo , The Jungle Haven got me into your channel, so pleased Claire did! Would you ever consider doing a video with Claire & Emma? Love your laughter x 🪴
This is one of the easiest Begonia for me, it likes to dry out, it doesn’t require high humidity and it grows really fast so long as it has space to crawl, and also because I allow it to crawl the leaves stay much more compacted ❤️
i found one at a home depot and it’s doubled in size in about 2.5 months, and i live in new england. never kept it in a terrarium. its definitely one of my favs!
Thank you for this great review! I am dying to try to keep my begonias alive all winter instead of buying new in the spring every year. This is very helpful.
Love these videos as a resource. YT gold for rewatch. Just got a small Ferox and seeing if I can grow in household humidity conditions. I was scared off being told it needed terrarium conditions, but the shop I got it from had about my house It’s all about the spikes! The fuzzy stems on yours adds a coolness factor, but Ferox is easier to say. 😂 Gonna put it next to my other two Begonia that are growing crazy.
Just found your channel, i have the ferox and bought it a couple of months ago, mid double digits. Ive found it easier than a coupoe of my other begonias but also killed a fair few cuttings! Ill try it in spaghum moss though, havent tried that way yet!
Super detailed video! I find it great how much you burn for your hobby! I have bought a ferox since half a year outside of a terrarium (only sun from 7-10am). I water it once a week and use very little liquid fertilizer every 2 weeks (in the summer now). Until recently it was very happy and did grow 1-2 leaves a month. It even blossomed 3 weeks ago. But, recently few of the leaves lose their green and get brighter and brighter in colour. (Two are almost white). Has anyone experienced something similar? (One of the stems of a white leave got mushy and fell off). (Moderate size plant 15-20 leaves)
what is the size of the "room" you keep all of your plants ? just curious as i am thinking of setting up a green house. Not sure of the dimensions. thinking of 14' x 20' and about 9' high. btw i have the "Ferox" for about 1 year now. It is the only Begonia that is doing well in my care. The rest of the Begonias are a nightmare to keep
The conservatory is 11x14 and 10 high. Ohhhh glad to hear that the ferox is happy I was always curious to see if it was easy to care for. Good luck with the green house, I set up mine last summer for starting all my veg.
@@Houseplantygoodness that's about the same size then. I just moved to a new house, so it will be a couple of months ( spring '23 ) before i will put it up. It will be mostly for aroids.... how do you keep the greenhouse isolated ? can imagine that keeping the temp high enough during the winter season will cost a bit
They are definately worth the wait, I was looking for my first one for a year and a half, they never had them in the uk, but since then more peeps have got them and they have been busy propagating.

Just what I needed. I have the ferox a small one and just order 14 different types of small begonias
I’ve just bought one of these so perfect timing 👍🏼😊
Yayyy congrats, you are going to love watching it grow 💚🌿

Does anyone have a tip how I could help my begonia ?
Melanobullata and/or Ferox are on my wishlist, just waiting for the right price/right shop to have it available. They look so creepy cute!

I want a melanobullata and a ferox SO badly! 🤞🏼
I misjudged how long the stem cutting would take to root and it ran into my vacation. I’m desperate to try again!
is it hard, do u need alot of humidity
Oh man, I've wanted one of these for a long time but in the US I haven't found one for less than 60$ so I'm waiting :P

Someone have to make a melanobulatum and ferox hybrid. Just for hybrid vigor to kick in.
Ohhhh I have never thought of it that way, that would be so awesome 💚💚💚💚
Ela é muito linda
