12 out of 10! Love this plant. Mine is in a cabinet in leca and close to a grow light, so it’s more bushy and trailing. It grows very quickly, flowers all the time, and they get everywhere, so points off for that. Still, very much recommend! ❤

Thank you for another wonderful video! I have one of these I picked up about 6 months ago while planning a mourning gecko vivarium that, well, hasn’t happened yet. It’s living very happily right now tucked behind my humidifier and receiving only artificial (full spectrum) light, with room temperature around 20C. If I’m being honest I also sometimes forget it’s there and it goes a long time between watering… but it’s always fun to find it still growing like mad and looking awesome when I get back to it. Not a fussy plant at all for me! Although I’ll need to step up my game if I ever want it to look as nice as yours 😍🌿
Ohhh wow that is a great story thanks for sharing and glad to see it's not just mine that does ok on some benign neglect 😅 don't worry it will get there soon, you won't even realise and you will look at it one day and go ohhh look at you, you are a big Amphioxus now 😊 💚🌿

I got an established small plant that I set the 2” pot inside my terrarium with my dart frogs & now it’s in a ziplock & next I’ll repot.
It stays a bit cooler in our house especially with all the rain we’ve been getting in California
I just purchased an incredibly full Begonia amphioxus in a 4 inch from a local specialty plant boutique in a subtropical climate.
No upright stakes, the six or seven canes just spilled out and branched off like a tiny but lush hanging plant. I paid $25 for it.
I'd say the fallen canes are between 6-8 inches at max length, with retaining seemingly all of its lower leaves.
After it acclimates, I hope to propagate it and then attempt to grow a new plant in an up right position, even though it does look incredibly fabulous with its fallen hanging canes.
I'm referring to my new plant as the mother plant from now on, and will allow it to "fall" over. I have it displayed on a glass etagere behind my desk non a stack of books, sitting in a little concrete planter. The space shelf is only about 15 tall, so I have a hard time finding lush plants I enjoy to fit the space, and with this plant being about 15 inches wide, I couldn't be happier with the placement of it and honestly think you'd enjoy seeing what this little plant looks like too. Next to my desk are glass doors that open up to my balcony, that I plan open from time to time to allow the outside humidity in.

I've had mine for a few years. It's my only begonia and I stressed big time at first but really not that difficult. I absolutely agree about once acclimated and established they really don't need special treatment. After mine outgrew it's cloche I was pretty consistent with the humidifier but that became less consistent and had no issues. Also, I have had great luck water propagating actually with no cover but in a more humid area. From water to sphagnum moss/soil mix in a cloche for a couple months then no issues.

This plant has been on my wishlist for quite a while now and I literally just received mine in the mail yesterday as one of my birthday plants from my husband (my birthday was in February but I had to wait for things to warm up a bit to ship). I could see this not shipping well but honestly mine came in pretty good shape surprisingly! It is a larger specimen and therefore quite a bit floppy so I have it supported with some sticks until I can get it on a trellis which I think will look nice with it. I too love it's "forbidden" or "toxic" look...should I look more deeply into my desire for something forbidden or toxic, lol. I plan to propagate a section to put in my terrarium and keep the mother in household conditions (I live in the lower midwest US where we experience all four seasons and are just coming out of the cold of winter). I'm excited to finally have this plant and see how it hopefully flourishes! Great video! Also, love the narration of what the plants are saying, lol.
Love this begonia 💚 I had one for a couple of years under a cloche an I decided to take it out. It quickly died, want to try it in reg room conditions. 💚
Ohh no sorry to hear that, yeah after speaking to a few people if you want to try growing in household conditions just be aware that it might look a bit messy or unhappy for a bit, don't panic weather through it and it should do fine 😊💚🌿

I have one in a terrarium. I am currently trying to propagate it in water, and in moss in another terrarium. Not happy to hear it takes so long. I was planning on gifting it. My mother plant is flowering and needs pruning, thus the propagations. Nothing else quite looks as unique.
I have one in a terrarium and one in normal house conditions in Leca. For the Leca, I keep the water right below the roots. I don’t find it a difficult plant at all. It’s still a bit hard to find in the US

Happy new year! I grow this plant on a covered patio in FL, USA. I really think begonia are outdoor plants. Mine wants full sun, half way dry between waterings in a more shallow azalea pot. I use my aroid mix! It’s not as fussy as I heard it would be. I don’t think it needs a terrarium or high humidity as long as it gets full sun. It’s a fast grower. The red dots fade with age which is disappointing. I also struggle with trellising: it’s always a spreading messy looking plant. It propagates easily in water. No pest pressures. It hates cold temps. We had a cold snap at night and it died back badly. I would keep it above 45f.

Hi! Love your plants! I just got a baby of this which is absolutely perfect. Would putting it under a humidity dome help? I have humidifiers on all the time but I am a bit scared now after hearing you talk about acclimation... Babies are fussy! Thank!
Humidity dome always works way better than just a humidifier for me.
I probably missed it, but do you have any recommendations regarding soil mix? I know that you use other media more, but still maybe somebody knows
I have one and love it because it’s unusual but it’s a mare, I have to move it about so much because it’s not happy…then it’s happy…then it’s not happy 😂
i bought this plant for my terrarium for 2 euro today at a garden center in the netherlands. Did not now they could get this big :D. Did it flower for u ?
