Great video who doesn't like unusual and different. Looking forward to another . Houseplant channels are getting the same old thing over and over again. Good for you to venture into a different lane. I love your happy personality. Nikki is another upbeat channel
I worked at a flower shop about 10 years ago in the midwestern us, and we got these begonias in all the time. These and the begonia Rex. I didn’t love either one, so I didn’t become a begonia fan at the time, and I hadn’t thought of them until recently, when I realized I don’t see them in local shops anymore. So interesting how plant fads move in waves.
I would love to see you do part two of rear plants. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Its always so relaxing and interesting listening to you. Best regards from a fan from Sweden🤗🌞🌸
Please continue about unusual plants. 🥂 My pick would be colorful or textured, or fuzzy leaves. Here are my favorites: Siderasis fuscata (easy plant relative to tradescantia) and two succulents - Madagascar orchid Oeceoclades spathulifera and Euphorbia Platyclada, aka Dead sticks.
Hi Memo, far from me being able to give you any kind of advice, however you have shown us how you create your Aroid mix and how your growing in Pon. But I have just scored a Cissus Discolour and went straight to your review to see what you planted it in and you didnt cover its planting medium. Not complaining, you have taught me heaps. Can you please let me know if you get the chance. Many thanks as always.
Hey Greg, ahhh you are right, sorry I missed that, I need to bring out an updated cissus review, I think likely the reason I didn't mention medium is that this is one plant I have never been able to keep happy, so I didn't wanna suggest a medium and lead people astray. I will say the last remaining bit of my cissus discolor that has survived is in self watering pon from water propagations if that helps 😁
Thank u 4 the offer! I really did enjoy this video & I think I would thoroughly enjoy more similar videos. I like unusual plants but I also can not afford huge prices 4 houseplants, no matter how much I may want them. So unusual, cheap, easy care plants have my name all over them! Really enjoying ur channel! Not a Freak! Yes Unique but I think perhaps "EXCITINGLY UNUSUAL" describes ur wonderful style much more accurately! But that's my opinion! ❣
Awww thank you for the kind words, i love it excitingly Unusual. Cool definitely can pull together a video for unusual cheap and easy houseplants for sure.
If the variegated form of amydrium you're referring to is the zippelianum variagata, then yes it does look a bit gnarly. I have one that's giving a ton of variegation and it indeed looks a bit sickly with its crumpled leaves...but personally I love it lol
Totally agree on the whole love/hate relationship with the summer lol ☀️ I'm a notorious underwaterer and I really have to up my game in the summer month's 😅 ! I also think the same thing about the variegated amydrium. Its not the most attractive form of the plant I would say 🙈 Thank you for another awesome video!!
Awwww glad it's not me, don't get me wrong love all the growth, but the extra care can be challenging. Yeah the variegated amydrium is defo not for me, I get why some peeps love it, but doesn't do it for me. I guess we all have different tastes 😅 Awwww glad you enjoyed 🙌
Hey I know a while ago you got a porcupine tomato or Solanum Pyracanthum. I managed to get some seeds and now I have two healthy seedlings/baby plants. Not many people talk about the porcupine tomato, I’ve really only seen you and one other person have it, so could you do a video on how you are taking care of it and how it’s doing maybe some tips even? I know you haven’t had it for long but I think it will still be helpful
Thank you for another video! I really need to deep dive into this extra floral nectaries thing. I have some ants (I live in FL/USA) and they farm scale aphids and mealy bugs on my shrubs/palms/crotons etc. It seems so backward to me! Why would the plant attract those sugar loving ants? Seeing ants is the easiest way to find the pests they are taking care of for me. I have a green emerald philo climbing my palm tree. I know my indoor one has lots of EFN. I will have to check on the outdoor one. Hope your having a great growing season!
I was thinking of doing a video on the relationship of ants with plants if that helps. Sadly you are talking about the other side as aphids and mealybugs also secrete sugary substance to attract ants to protect them
In the case of mealybugs, they secrete waste products comprising of sugars. So the ants, when combined with mealybugs will protect the mealybugs in addition to protecting the plant. Double the happy for the ants, since they get two sources of food, but not so fabulous for us plant parents. You’re best off evicting the ants in my experience as they bring way more trouble than their worth 🌿💚
This is so refreshing. Finally a video of non hyped plants. There are so many interesting plants out there. Do post more of this .
Awww glad you enjoyed, yes, there will be a second video like this one 😊

Memo you are pumping out the content!! Im loving it!
Awww thanks glad you are enjoying 😊 not bad considering I am doing this whilst on a 2 week holiday 😅😬
@@Houseplantygoodness Thank you for that! It's great to see it!
Yes please another video like this!!
They should hire you for Gardener's World as they move more into houseplants but don't really have a presenter who has a real passion for them yet :D
Ohhhh that would be awesome (ahhh I can dream 💭💭💭💭)
Great video, I own both of the Mediums and I agree with you. Yes please more videos like this. Thank you.
Love seeing the new-to-me plants. I unalived my melanobullata cutting. I hope to try again soon!
Awww yeah feel the pain on the melobullata, I did the same 😅 😅 😅 😅

Currently obsessed with Pellionia. Definitely, marmite, as you would say. 🤣
Yes love my recent pellionia baby plant I got re ently from a plant swap event, defo marmite 😂😂
Really enjoyed the video and would LOVE to see more of your uncommon plants 😊

Sure I can definately add it to the next weird plant video. So glad that it's growing well for you, they are such cool plants 😊
@@Houseplantygoodness they absolutely are! Mine hasn’t developed its spikes yet so I’m super excited for that
Amydrium medium works just fine on a moss pole
Omg hi. U look so young.
I soooo like you love my wierdos 😍😉
Same 😅😅😅😅
I love watching you, though at this point most green foliage on houseplants just makes it normal to me 😅
Have you ever showcased a Pinguicula? I have 3 and they're pretty good fly catchers but I'm not sure how to repot them.

What's the plant care app that you use?
