4 Begonias That Prove Everyone Wrong! 🌱 Houseplant Heroes! 💪
The Plant Whisperer is groovy cuz of the voice! My Google voice has a British accent as it's more pleasant and less annoying when it mispronounces the Native American & Spanish street names that dominate Tucson. I wonder what voices I'd give my plants! And which plants do I care to hear from... 😅 Dust repellant spray that repels pests too? 🎉 Cool video, Memo. No one else is putting out content like this. You rock!
I love the moss wall idea! I'm not so much for the gadgets, but the pest repellent liner is brilliant!
You are wonderful 😊
Ooh Memo.. I, too, started using my walls as vertical space. And hooks on the ceilings to also hang plants from. We live in our own little jungles, and I wouldn't have it any other way. 😂
Not for black friday, but for cyber week I order 4 new plants 😆 ( technically I have 8 new plants 🫣, 2 of each to have bigger plants), a big risk to have an other one until the end of the year 😆💛 In Canada with winter, temperature, snow, etc, I had heat packs and foil, isolation in material, to protect the plants, some company are amazing with shipping. Very nice video Memo, I can’t wait to see your plants grow. 💛☀️
Summer Glory is beautiful and a crawler.
I've got one it's a crawler.
You deserve a Christmas gift, too! And we should have Christmas every month. Merry Christmas!
Happy holidays to you and your plants!
Thankyou for this, was so depressed, your unboxing was like happy medicine 🌱
Looking into GrowTrop......nice things!LOL. Winter here so not trusting shipping till late spring. Thanks Nemo for beauty.
Haha. I needed a couple of plants..... I bought 9! Love it!
This was a fun one 😊
I actually like the low-light video. It's like we're having a SUPER SECRET, urgent meeting to get the down low on a great sale! 😂😂😂 Enjoy them all. Merry Christmas!
I really love my Summer Glory. She suffers in the winter but during the summer she lives on the edge of my back porch. Here in Texas it is hot and humid, up to 107F. She gets some actual full sun for about an hour. She grows really quickly and is trying to crawl but not aggressively. I gave her a pole as support and it seems to be working well. I’ve had her about a year and a half. Very thirsty plant and once I gave her enough water and uppotted her she has done very well. Enjoy.
😂You have unboxings & I seem to be having “box hidings” due to no self control lately! Do love the warmth of your plants behind you! I don’t think we have seen them in this light 💡 yet. It just lends a soft, calm mood. Thanks for the video!
The 7.99 one I know as a pickle plant and had one for a while. I've had to cut it as it gets so tall but doesn't fill out. I love the lighting its magical and so pretty and I think show cases the plants so well And yes grow tropicals and your self is a bad influence. I have to ignore the emails hehe And this kind of thing makes me feel better. I needed yes needed wanted let's face it one warhammer set and found one cheaper on ebay. Ended up with 3. In my defence I don't have one. But still thanks hehe Have fun
"We'll be fine and penniless together"😂🤣 I'm still waiting for 1 of 2 black Friday orders I made.
The ‘Summer Glory’ is definitely a crawler! Very rewarding plant though
One of the better unboxings! Bonus points for the like minded “I really like them, and can mostly afford them, so I really should get them” mentality that so many of us Greeks share! While the English/American in me should scold you, the Greek in me is just so happy that you did something that made you so happy! Haha!!!
I'v always been told; any crawling Philo crossed with a climbing Philo will b a climber. 🤎❣
I love your new begonia . It reminds me of my philodendron tortum! Memo , you bring me such joy and knowledge ! I think you are lovely , smart , and a good person . Merry Christmas to you !❤❤❤
Ooh! I need your advice (or that of others who grow in wall baskets or on wall planks.) I'm considering getting an Anthurium sp Morona and mounting it. Is this a terrible idea? Should I go safe and put it in no drainage with reservoir and chunky aroid mix? It'll have bright indirect light and about 70% humidity with warmer days and cooler nights (68° - 72°). I chickened out on the gracilis but I adore the ruffly morona leaves and think they'd be gorgeous cascading from the wall. Your help is deeply appreciated! 💚
I have a baby summer glory, shes crawling :3
I have a Senecio Stapeliiformis and it's growing so over like snake! It is a very groovy jungle plant. I have it in Pafcal in a self-watering pot. 💚
Now that you said that about purple I cannot unsee the blue and red smh. 😂 fun fact. Thank you. Beautiful collection
Extra cool earring! Is it an amber?
🎶I did it again🎶 you’re not alone I’m throwing my money because I need more plants which my house is a Jungle 🙄✊🏻
i'm sure you could contact them and let them know you didn't get the freebie.
Relatable, I just ordered some plants that were on sale black friday. That week I had self control, this week not. Nice plants in your order. I have the senecio, it grows pretty long in my window sill ( not etoliated though ). I also have the begonia, it is standing in a paludarium with some dart frogs
I have a summer glory and I love it ,it is a crawler ❤
Oh wonderful! I’m saving this video for tomorrow morning with my coffee. Can’t wait to see what you got!
I do that too.
I feel this last little spiel so bad right now (one week away from Christmas...frantically trying to finish making the gifts that I'm making, family gatherings approaching that I'm dreading where my monster-in-law will be...going to survive with my sister-in-love, my two teenage daughters are loosing their ever loving minds). Plants truly are my calm...and my pups and chickens 🥰
Syngonium Chiapense has gone down in price substantially in Asia over the past three months. The price will come down elsewhere pretty soon. Also, variegated vittariifolium is one of the prettiest plants I have!
I love those. I would like to ask you if you had an idea about the crispy edges on new shoots 🤔
Oooooo that Ceratostema pendans!!!!! Our local nursery brought in 2 other types of Ceratostemas that looked pretty cool, they didn’t like the atmosphere there though and declined quickly unfortunately I’ve recently got into big leaved Hoyas, love those big waxy leaves!
BotanicalOtter is Frasier Cook. He’s doing amazing work in Indonesia regarding plant conservation.
That’s incredible! 🌍 Frasier Cook is doing such important work-thanks for sharing this! Conservation research efforts like his are essential. 🌿
I agree with your prediction about plants that were popular in the fifties and sixties making a comeback. Especially when its hard to predict our current personal and global futures. I noticed that I have recently started (again) with African Violets and Kalanchoes. My mom had massive African Violets - my current propagation pots are full of them - the other day I was wondering, uh, why??? I didnt really catch on til your video. Also, I'm seventy, and have recently gotten (back) into Kalanchoes. One of my first plants was the Mother of Thousands (I think a Kalanchoe?). After practicing bomb drills in grade school, I went home and counted all my little baby plants - very life giving. Anyway, once again, you have made me feel "we are all in this together" - to feel included - SO needed in these fractured times!
Your story is so moving-thank you for sharing! 🌿 African Violets and Kalanchoes really have a timeless charm, and your connection to them is beautiful. It’s amazing how plants can help us feel grounded and united, even in challenging times. 🌟 Sending lots of love and green vibes your way! 🌱
Memo, you are just precious 💕
I do have a moisture meter but I feel like it’s wrong … and I don’t think it’s broken because it’s the second one I bought and the first one acted similarly and I sent it back. I’m more prone to overwatering so I’ve gotten pretty careful. However, even when my soil should be fully saturated it doesn’t show moist. It’s always close to dry. My plants would all be rotting if I would listen to it 🫠
I tried three singular corms, two in perlite and one in soil and all of them did great :)
This was another absolutely terrific video. I've been quite under the weather for a while, and a bit behind on your videos. What a great one to "rejoin" you with! Well done, Memo!
@@soberplantguy hope you will feel better soon (and get plenty of rest and creativity in the mean time)!
Welcome back Dave! 🌟 So glad this video resonated with you and helped you reconnect. I hope you’re feeling better soon-it’s always a pleasure to have you here! 😊
💌
💌 ¡De vuelta para ti! Muchas gracias por tu apoyo-¡significa muchísimo! 🌿
I'm hoping people step back a bit from the variegation thing and appreciate lush green plants again that actually look like they come from nature. I'm so over every video or post about newly available plants being five variegated Monsteras, five variegated Philodendrons and two Anthuriums that look identical.
I hear you-there’s so much beauty in lush, natural greenery. 🌿 Let’s hope 2025 brings more love for those true-to-nature plants. Thanks for sharing your hopes! 🌱
Just received my two Anthurium Pedatum starter plants today. I love them and bigger than I accepted to be starter. I'm here on UA-cam trying to see and learn as much as I can. The Seller did provide Care Instructions that are detailed and they were very inexpensive under $20 for both. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Trends in plants are the same as trends in clothing. You just have to buy what you like. I would never but a white monstera or and plant that has a lot of white because they turn brown. They have so little chlorophylle. sorry SP. Trends are set by growers and instagram. Buyers should educate themselves before falling for these trends. If it is a hybrid you like then chances are there will be 5 more next year. Buy what you like and not to impress anyone. Enjoy the journey. Love your content!
Absolutely agree-trends should never dictate our joy! 🌱 Your perspective is so refreshing, especially about choosing what works for you (and those white Monstera struggles are real 😅). Thanks for the thoughtful comment! 😊
I can't wait myself for some unusual aroids that have been around for ages but are not as collectible currently to have their moment, I'm talking about amorphophallus, cyrtosperma, arum, thaumatophyllum, etc
Yes! Those unusual aroids definitely deserve their moment in the spotlight! 🌿 Amorphophallus, Cyrtosperma, and Thaumatophyllum are such fascinating plants. Fingers crossed for 2025! 🤞
Hoyas please
Variegation is a mutation that isn't always consistent and it's always healthy for a plant. Not really my cup of tea, but tropicals are a staple in most garden centers. I'm a succulent Grannie myself, lol. Thanks for the content!
Succulent Grannie! 🪴 Love that! Tropicals and succulents both have their place. Thanks for watching and sharing your plant style! 😊
My prediction for 2025 is some of the new philodendron hybrids will hit the market. I’ve seen quite a few new hybrids having the Florida’s as half the plant parentage. Their foliage was quite beautiful 💕 Online I have seen a ton of new variegated plants, many were quite stunning. Some looked sick 😀🇨🇦
Those new Philodendron hybrids sound gorgeous! 💕 I’m curious to see how they’ll trend in 2025. Thanks for sharing your prediction! 🌿
