I think the person who would be attracted to playing Tyranids doesn't really want them to be "humanized" in having independent named characters and the like. They're a bit like choosing to play a dragon in a fantasy story, like a force of nature with a secretive grand intelligence behind it. Admittedly, this may be just from my perspective, but it's always felt lame to me when writers make weird alien things that are hard to relate to more human, because I feel like that's considering a unique flavor of a faction as a weakness

You don't need to humanise them to have interesting lore. Just look at the xenomorphs.
This. The exciting thing about 'nids lore for me is that it is always from the PoV of the victims.

I actually took my Soulgrinder last week in a game, with my Deathguard. I was not disappointed. Its main ranged attack is Phlegm Bombardment, which is hilarious. Also it swings at Str 16 in melee... Absolute Unit

Giving auxiliaries to the Tau would allow them to have some melee and the faction wouldn't have all their mechanical problems. It's kind of insane they haven't already done it.
If they ever refresh the kroot range I hope they include some tau shoulder pads and armor pieces in the kits to tie them to the tau auxillary theme a bit more.
The current kroot range looks like its own faction entirely with no ties to tau whatsoever.
Auxiliaries not getting the army rule is what kills them for me. They also don't do damage of any kind. Not shooting or in combat. They only serve as screeners now.
They have an owlbear that fucked up death guard in melee and they r psychic. They r mentioned in the shadowsun book
Ikr theres literally a Titan size xeno that is part of the tau Empire, a centaur looking reptile creature that is LITERALLY bigger than the norn emissary, or the hipnotic snake worms, or even the xenos that are living light and work in guiding the ships, imagine a flying light that works like the "psycher" or it's attacks are just air support firing where it says, theres so much potential, not just humanoid aliens but anything, Even gundams piloted by other aliens could be great

As a sisters player I want them to fix half strength/below half strength so I can actually use my rules that I don’t care for anyway. There’s too many models and units that straight up don’t get to use my rules because they can’t hit that threshold or only get it when I got one wound/model left and die anyway.
Can't wait for the other detachments to also have the 'get hurt:*Effect*'
1000% this. Change the rule to "equal to or less than half" for sisters, battleshock, and crusher stampede
I would also like more non-epic hero characters and more tanks. Can I have a cannoness ride in a war suit and a tank with more toughness.

What I REALY want is a tank. Size of a landraider, up to a Baneblade. Then add a bunch of church-like bits.
The Castigator is... fine. But compared to the Exorcist or Immolator it lacks the coolness. So another tank. A BIG one
The thing I want for Sisters most is actually a Drop-Pod equivalent but it's a small cathedral. In lore they drop them from space onto the battlefield and I think it'd be a cool addition!

maybe to make it a little diffrent the drop pods are bigger and carry more models and maybe even have more weapons than a space marine drop pod. They would basically be a deployable bunker id say. Although i know fortifications aren't the best unit type in the current game.
@@lelandmartin3970 in the lore they are vary big and maybe that was what OP intended, and a very cool idea, the problem with fortifications this big will always be to find the space to actually deploy it, we put a lot of stuff on boards for cover. Maybe one that can carry 12 sisters or 3 warsuits (or both! I know that's cooler :D) and a lot of firepower and a 'sacred' AOE effect, that would be dope
50% bigger than a pod, square, shaped like a gothic castle, and the turrets have actual bolter/flamer/missile turrets on them, holds 20 sisters, or some penitent engines

For Imperial Knights, their whole thing is medieval knight, but in a big robot, right? So why not give them some "Household Troops" or something similar. You can get a few types as well. You can have medieval "Sergeant" equivalents, similar to the naval beachers or Kaserkins, the actual decentish infantry. You can have some regular guard or cultist equivalents to represent regular Household Troops, and you can also get some literal Agri World, Peasant Levies, for some actual trash to through on the board. Make it similar to Old World Bretonia, where the knights are your damage dealers and will win you the game, with the peasants or "Household Troops" to hold the line long enough for the knights to win. Plus, you can then play with some foot characters to act as "Retainers" or something like that. There is definitely something there.

That's what I was thinking, have some kind of light ground troops that could be crossbow or spear wielding men-at-arms to represent the more feudal side of the Imperium.
@Fuzmonster59 I do like the idea of crossbow and spear wielding peasants to back up imperial knights. Give them awful weapons, I'm thinking like range 18, BS 5+, A1, S2, Ap0, D1 for the crossbow but make them cheap to hold points. Perhaps also as a way to limit them, perhaps make it so you can only take so many peasants per knight, and change it so a small knight means you can take 10 peasants, a big one 20 etc. To represent them coming from that knights household, so only so many can come with each knight.
Horus Heresy has this for the Titan Legios with Secutarii Hoplites and Peltasts. I think it's a great idea and would love to see it come to 40k
I thought of having Pterrorshades for the Chaos Knights to have. Just a flock of angry flesh-eating vultures to fly around and harass stuff.

For Genestealers I would love to see a big centerpiece mining vehicle similar to something out of Lego Power Miners

I really like your guys channel because you 2 have your finger on the pulse of each community and arent just like "faction needs this gun or better rules" its more of a hobbyist take on how to enjoy this game a little more.

Ability: if this model is in melee range of an enemy **vehicle** model, that model cannot move, cannot make melee attacks and attacks on it always hit.

Every Forklift comes with a sheet of metal on the fork, giving them a single use ranged attack, but only if they moved this round xD
Chaos Knights really want Wardogs to stay in stock for longer than 15 seconds
That is one wish, another wish I have would be make the bigger knights more relevant again. Currently you just spam Wardogs and *maybe* take one big knight.
I do like the idea they proposed though of adding smaller knights to the range. It would be sweet to have a unit of lets say 3 paragon suit sized knights. Make them super fast, good oomph but rather fragile. Call them Squires =)

The weird thing about guard is that they technically did an upgrade sprue…for cadians. It has a lot of bits that add a lot to the army if someone wants cadians but it’s weird that was released when the 9th codex came out and we haven’t heard anything new since.
I just want to say that I'm tired of hearing Brad say that feel no pain is not a defining feature of Death Guard. The mark of Nurgle since 5th and by extension Plague Marines have since 6th edition (the first time they became a unit) been +1 toughness and 5+ feel no pain. This is like saying that psychic and an invuln save isn't defining for Thousand Sons.

They've had FNP since 4th edition when they first became a unit (3rd edition had plague marines as just chaos marines with the mark of nurgle).
@@Nick37577 Thank you I could only find evidence online as far back as 5th edition. I started with 40k at the start of 8th and it is nice to hear that it has even stronger rots than I could find.
@@Nick37577 Actually the CSM + Mark of Nurgle thing was a unique quirk of the 3.5 edition Chaos Codex. The first Codex in 3rd edition, and the 2nd edition book both had Plague Marines as a separate unit (they had higher toughness, but no Feel No Pain yet).
Here's my wishlist item for ALL factions: bitz kitz, upgrade sprues. I know they'll never do it because it's too expensive but imagine if you could buy a kit with say 50 Daughters of Khaine heads or 30 Space Marine heavy weapons or "assorted church bits for Sororitas tanks".
And yes, I know this is commonplace and dirtcheap if you have a 3D printer but it would be cool to have official plastic available.

It's not that expensive. The problem is that GW doesn't have the infrastructure and refuses to expand its production end.
They used to do this with metal bits back in the day.
Honestly, that sort of thing seems like it would be the perfect product for GW to start offering as 3d printable files. Give one guy a month to knock out a bunch of different shoulderpads, flags, and heads, and now they have upgrade kits for every obscure space marine subfaction you could ever want, all without paying for manufacturing or warehouse space.
for tyranids, instead of that dreadful 'multiple hive minds' suggestion, I'd love to see an unit that buffs hormagaunts the same way that tervigon buffs termagans, hell that can be tervigon itself, just something that can make my idea of "2000pts of velociraptors" doable
my wishlist as an admech player is a different codex that GW actually put effort into
I hope when the CSM codex comes out this edition, they bring chaos dreads back with options for each god and say "these will have unique data sheets in the other chaos legions". Extra points if they just release those sheets early to sell more of the model.
It's incredibly funny that the "Bunch of different weirdos together" is supposed to be the Tau's whole thing, but that mechanics wise the current Drukhari with their 3 in 1 faction with the weirdos like Mandrakes and Scourges feels more akin to the covenant idea than the tau do.
The only Christmas Wish my faction has is to have finished painting my faction.

What I want for Chaos? Treat them like Divergent chapters of the space marines. GIVE US ACCESS TO THE WHOLE LIST OF CSM!!
With obvious exceptions, like WE still can't take psykers, Tsons can't take jump packs (lack of autonomous minds), etc... to balance out the divergent chapters a bit. Or at least add like 3-4 CSM units to WE and Tsons so we can pretend we have options.

For Custodes: a proper expansion to the Sisters to make the faction properly the Talons of the Emperor. We got a full (if dysfunctional) army list for the sisters in 30k more than a year ago but there are no models in sight ;~;
For Chaos Marines: Mutilators, Bikers, Defiler, a proper damn army for World Eaters and psychic dreads and maybe an elite non-terminator unit for the TSons (think the Khenetai blade cabal from 30k) and named characters for every legion like the loyalists got
The fact that they put Haarken in 40k but made him BL hurts NL players.... like yes he is but he literally studied NL to use their tactics AND uses our jumppacks... Other cool characters for us would be Talos, Malcharion in Dreadnought, and Sevatar (haven't read about him but other NL players think he's hot stuff so I'm game).
the obvious connecting aesthetic to make the conglomeration of a bunch of wildly distinct looking alien species together should be the existing Tau armor aesthetic. the layers of ceramic plates ala space alien samurai armor style should be present on all of the different races of the tau empire in the same way that the covenant all had a similar material design for all of the different species' armors in Halo. I want to see Kroot in fire warrior-like armor that's shaped to their different physiology. The Vespid sculpts already do this even if those models are so old and ugly it doesn't really mesh with the current line of Tau models.
As a guard player, I would love a relevant codex that lasts more then 3 months then not waiting 5 more years for another book that will last 3 to 5 months
For a new admech cult model idea: a procession of tech-priests, some doing repairs on the model, some doing incense, some shooting (all mostly visual), with them escorting a massive screw-you gun/tech piece. Heck, make that part of the war-gear, have 1 variant be a big gun, another being a targeting relay for da other big guns, another giving a defensive aura or enchanced protocols. The model would kinda look similar to triumph of saint Katherine, but bigger (obviously with all the tech priests) and probably very wacky-looking, because admech.
I wonder if brad's wish will be to have the old reanimation back.
He's said that he's not really a silver tide guy, so I'm guessing it didn't really affect him much. Canopteks and destroyers are really only affected by the Reanimator nerf (and the CCB res orb I guess), and they just got a bunch of buffs to compensate. I'd probably be more mad at how the destroyer detachment is garbage.

The nice thing about Tau auxillaries is that Votann units already exist and the Demiurge are a part of the squats that work with Tau sometimes
Here's a novel concept: include the faction rules and datasheets for the Combat Patrol IN the combat patrol.
Yes it's available for free online, but if I'm opening up a box on Christmas and slapping plastic together to play a game against my brother I want LESS in the way of that. Just put it in the manual or something just put it in the box

"Just steal from Starcraft" wasn't Starcraft supposed to be a warhammer 40k game originally but they didn't get the liscence so they changed SM, Aeldari and Tyranids into Terrans, Protoss and Zerg?
Edit: also, isn't there already some individualism in the Hive Mind considering each Hive Fleet uses a different strategy (behemoth charges head-on, kraken does ambushes, leviathan adapts, kronos goes after demons and gorgon uses acid/toxins) and I'm pretty sure there was a Hive Fleet that transformed smaller fleets into a part of itself, implying the Hive Fleets either have their own conflicting Hive Minds or that they are at least in conflict with themselves?

I got Leviathan but sadly missed Onslaught, one I would recomend is the boarding patrol if you find it.
Personally I dream a discount box with a Lictor and 2 pyro/biovores, and a full Termagants kit for spinefists! and put the extra specials on the monopose ones from Leviathan (to me also genestealers or hormagaunts since I still miss them ahahah)

I think after checking what is in it, it ain't great. That is becuse every box that promotes 'understrength units' should be barred from sales.
This box consists of
2x3 warriors
1x broodlord
8x genesteelers
Genesteelers in 10th edition come in packs of 5/10. So you bought 3 ùodels to collect dust on your shelve.
If you can get from somewhere else 2 more 'free/cheap' genesteelers, then ok, go for it.
@@hendrikmoons8218 I got it as my first Tyranids models, I knew they will have a refresh in 10th so I decided to assemble an army. The discount was very good (plus from a 3rd party ofc) I remember hoping they wouldn't immediately redesign the warriors lol
Yes the genestealers are kinda of a bummer, I picked another old box which by now is quite cheap (so 10 + 5, and only 1 wasted) and I'm waiting to get one new box to kitbash and have a proper army for the Broodlord to lead. To me it was good value but I can understand different opinions, and they are all old minis

Hear is an idea for a cheap knight unit. Give them medieval pesaenats that cost like 50 points for 10 of them but they literally have 1 toughness and strength.
Literally they exist in lore. Might as well add them!
Peasants would be a perfect fit for them. 10 for 100 points, they have TRASH offensive attacks, but they have big-'ole shields that make them tough. They have one job: Hold objectives. That means that an enemy army of all anti-tank still has to figure out how to kill the shield serfs too who are holding the mid board. Gives the Knights something really tricky, silly, and 100% lore accurate to play with.

I think they could feasibly write a book from the perspective of Deathleaper and broodlord as the vanguard organisms arguing over the most efficient way to conquer a planet Deathleaper of course is a lone wolf who prefers to do things alone while the broodlord is a leader and commands genestealers into battle. Might be doable as a Tyranid novel
And seeing as how they are one of the few organisms with a level of individuality apart from the hive mind it's possible it would actually happen
I really think Ad Mech should get more of the old robot models, from the rogue trader era, but updated to plastic kits. I thought those were delightfully strange and would add more variety. Each robot type could fill specific army style roles. Also, never heard the joke about "Every Necromunda model is a genestealer model." I have heard, "Every model is a Necromunda model."
T'au needs an very expensive Hrud or Sslyth unit that are costly and you only have a handful of them at most, but have very specialised but dangerous weapons.
My only Christmas wish this year is that you guys would have an episode talking about AoS every now and again.

As a Necron player, if they could just undo the reanimation nerfs and restore the identity of our army, that’d be swell.
You want the faction that has always centered around their strong resurrection and relative tankyness to be GOOD at resurrection and be a more elite army? Outrageous
I think a series of compiled "short stories" could be interesting -- just like horror mode -- and alternates between a tyranid chapter -- then a horror chapter of someone fighting for their lives.
When you guys got to the World Eaters and talking Chaos Specific things....
I feel like that is a prime example on how they can pull from these cool new 30k Dreads; give them 40k specific upgrade frame.
I'm kinda hoping the new Epic scale game goes well enough it expands back into 40k and thus we get new tiny Tyranids so I can go all in on the unending swarm aspect I find so cool to the Nids.
Giving the auxiliaries more t’au ish armor so they look more cohesive with the rest of t’au while still having unique biology, roles, and forms.
As a long time dark eldar fan, there are currently two things that would be really cool imho - well, three if you count named characters that got 8th edition blasted (think it was 8th ...):
- plastic mandrakes and grotesques (I'll count those as one wish)
- some kind of elite assassinations sniper squad with a more ornate/not standard kabalite armour. Think of something in the line of a small (5 model) squad of sniper-scourges. Also with a new true sniper weapon, not just "dark something-something" or "super splinter sniper anti material smooth bore rifle" (yes, the last one doesn't makes sense, as most of GW weapon names). Or if the scourge is a too mobile base model, give us a mix of mandrakes, incubi and snipers :D
- alternative to the second wish: some other body-modified eldar units. Not directly coven units, more in the direction of blades for hire. In the lore, even non coven-affiliated eldar can have modified bodies - all the narcissistic expressions of ego and wealth ... in one of the DE books, there is an archon that had his bones hollowed out, feathers implanted and also grav thingies in his foots because he just loved birds - drukhari need more crazy stuff like that!
As a Blood Angels player, we like our psychic dread and plan to keep him!
As a dustie, we made those, give them back!
I think some human auxiliaries for tau would be pretty cool. Another thing CSM could use is more non-Black Legion named characters.
I want nothing more then for the tyranids to NOT get a explanation. The unknown eldritch nature of them is one of my favorite parts. And splitering them and makeing them more individual would actually make me vomit.
It could be done well, but it would be incredibly incredibly incredibly hard.

I think something I want to see for guard is that they have four ways to ally up with chaos, Tau, genestealer/tyrannids and of course imperium
Expanding the auxiliary units for the tau could literally fix the balance problems with the tau being a one phase army
I just remembered and want you guys to know - the free mini of the month from GW this month is a tiny Legiones Imperialis Rhino tank. So for Christmas this year Rhinos really are free. 😊
My Tyranid army is painted based on the New Phyrexians where different units are part of the different circles.

I would love the Tau to finally get more allied races to play with so they can become more like the Covenant. Sadly, unless one of those allied races has a name that ends in "Space Marine", we're never going to see it.
As a Leagues of Votann player, I’d say something I want more than the other half of my range is more lore! The models will come eventually, but our identity needs to be cemented for 2 reasons: 1. The models that come out will be higher quality and fit the theme more. 2. We don’t want to repeat history and get stricken out of the lore or pushed to obscurity (harlequins, og squats) because of a lack of identity.
like, how am i supposed to come up with backstory and a paint scheme for the models if i dont have any lore to go off of?
6:40 Sisters need more firepower, Castigators need their dual profile battlecannon with higher AP back, they need a flyer, a non-ridiculous super heavy, and a ridiculous Drop-chapel.
For genestealers, I honestly really like how they can take imperial guard, so it’d be really cool to me if there were some genestealer upgrade sprues for IG models

Honestly, feel that having Imperial Knights have a separate, more storm trooper/kasrkinesque style of guard could still be cool. Considering the knights themselves have large retinues of soldiers and house guard. This would also allow for new tactics and abilities, such as maybe being behind a knight counts as cover for the squads under it. Or they get a buff for being near knights(Ik they don't like auras, but this would be a cool concept.) Because it would both initiate a want to use these newer guardsmen equivalents. And it would be similar to bondsman in flavor and abilities, having the knights inspire their basic infantry into battle to further them along.
It's a bit of a cop-out. But there is a potential there for it to be a very synergistic type army. Where you have enough war dogs, you have enough knights, you have enough basic inf. And then you get the full feel of a knight and its retinue power fantasy.
I wish that Chaos marines could get some cool new deamon engines and maybe something like half-obliterator techmarine as a new character.
As an Admech player I just want our 30k stuff in 40K
Not just a better Outrider kit, but an actual NON-melee, specialized biker replacement for the bike squads would be nice.
As a white scars player, hover bikes would be incredible whether it be chapter specific or not. Trying to use the Stormlance Task Force detachment with 3 total "mounted" units isn't the best.
My wish as a T'au player is a Crisis-sized battlesuit that's mainly designed for melee combat. It would make it so we don't instantly crumble at the slightest bit of melee breeze, and it would look cool being led by Farsight.
As a guard player my Christmas wish is that we get a codex before next Christmas 😭 some refreshed catachans in a jungle kill team box with some new jungle terrain wouldn’t hurt too
My only thing with the Tyranids getting proper characters is that the problem with similar factions in other media that have had this have had it always go kind of poorly. Like the Borg queen in Star Trek was unpopular, and Kerrigan in Star Trek just kind of warp the factions around their wants and needs and move too far away from this animalistic alien hunger that just wants to spread and make itself grow and consume all. I think the Praetor idea would work best where it's just like an aspect that just wants to consume, an aspect that's more tactical, one that adapts and invents new monsters. Then we could have like the tactical wanting to make a strategic flank with some gaunts while the consuming one tries to hijack them and just charge straight in to feed. Almost like a lot of personalities of one being fighting for control but still maintaining a unified purpose.
This is definitely preferable; unnamed subminds that are more like the different cores of the process as a whole, instead of characters of their own right.
It could be seen as an advantage within the hivemind that they all have these perspectives at all times, and the collective cherry picks what it needs or wants for a given tendril.

A tyranid book should read very strangely and confusingly, it should kaleidoscopic, like you're in a fever dream.
But that isn't a simple thing to just write, those sorts of things usually come with inspiration.
Guard player here! Speaking for myself I want more HQ options. I don't like to use named characters so my HQ options are:
-Company Commander
-Lord Commisar
-Tank Commander
Someone else suggested it would be cool to have a C.Commander in Sentinel. Just a few more options would be cozy.

Giving Tau the covenant vibes with other races could also give them some melee strength to really push the idea of these different races banding together to make up for their weaknesses. Doesn't even need to be good melee, just a token to represent the collective spirit.

As tyranid player I feel we were robbed of our leaders the tyrant prime and nerothrope are just gone feels like a missed opportunity to have leaders in swarms

A concept I wouldn't be surprised to see is if Chaos Demons was completely scrapped and the 4 gods were tied into their corresponding legions instead. Playing Khorne would mean playing World Eaters with a specific detachment, playing Nurgle would be Death Guard with a detachment, Tzeentch gets a Thousand Sons detachment, then the last being finally getting an Emperor's Children codex with attached Slaanesh demons.

-More Tyranid and Votann lore, like come on GW both the brand new army and the bad guys of the edition and we've got table scraps here.
-A sisters themed knight sized unit to work as a great centerpiece for the army
-A CSM sniper so I can have an excuse to get an Exodus from 30k for my Alpha Legion
And I just got a GSC combat patrol for the same reason mentioned here, because I know its on life support and the deal is too good to pass up. I'm still too new to the army to have a wishlist for it though

For custodians just buy recasts. The recaster i use usually has the same or better quality as forgeworld.

My Christmas wish for Tyranids is a “Talking Tyranid” The Herald, some bio form with a bunch of tendrils that attaches itself for bodies of wounded left behind that physically moves the mouth, tongue, lungs to terrify enemies. “Help me..at meat, you me meat” like a biowarhorn
