Go on the VMUTS website. Once you pay the permit fee ($17 for a day or $35 for a week) they’ll send you a map that has the location of the mine. Pretty easy to get there as long as you have a 4x4 vehicle.

Since my 4x4 is my primary vehicle and not really set up for off road use (stock 2007 Ford Explorer), is it possible to Hike in to the mine site on a trail? Or would it be possible to take my SUV part way in (where the trail is better) and then hiking the rest of the way? Thanks!

Did you use trail 11, to enter at? with the " bridge not rated for trucks" or enter vmuts at a different location, was going to use 11-15-36 trails
Yeah we entered from trail 11.
