This is the best DIY for a gelatinous cube that I have ever seen. His turned out perfectly. I don't know what it is about the gelatinous cube that is so intriguing, but I love those things. It's easily my favorite DnD monster that they have ever created.
Thank you, I really appreciate that! Yeah it's an awesome monster for sure!
Came for the cube, stayed for the phenomenal base!
Thanks Tommy !!
I remember being on the call when that happened. I’m so glad Michelle was able to save that craft for you. 👍
She definitely saved the build haha...
Glad it worked out well! Haha glad my past issues and fixes could help someone else haha
@@ericarainae I’m glad you were on Discord!
I made a gelatinous cube out of plastic sheets and hot glue.
Seeing this cube of flubber, I might want to see how I can make my greyish block of snot look more like royal jelly!
Thanks for the awesome video and the light-up feature really makes the miniature stand out, in every sense of the word.
You got it Raider.... Thanks for watching :) !
Awesome, the dreaded cube has always been a fav of mine.
I purchased ultra thin led puck lights that were battery operated to use as the base for my cubes. They also come with a multi color remote so I can change the color of the clear cubes I used.
I just painted the puck black and went the lazy route lol. Love the cube you did, your work never disappoints.
Great stuff.
That’s an awesome idea! I’m working with a few of those nights now!
Love the slime trail, really adds thst its a creature and not just a glowong lump.
Thank you :)
Love it John! Best Gelatinous cube i've seen in ages. Love the little dead dude floating in the middle... would make a really cool night light for a kids bedroom lol
Hey Michael, thanks! A night light... yeah!
threw a GC at the novice party and became obsessed with them! thanks for the vid!
They're fun to toss on the table! Thanks for watching.
@@TabletopWitchCRAFT absolutely! Btw, you're a genius! Great vid!
Nice! Years ago I had an opportunity to work with silicone moulding and experimented with using the silicone as the final product. While too soft for most applications, I found it excellent for oozes, slimes and cubes. The wobbly cube was always a winner.
I could see that working out real nice. Thanks :)
I've always been interested in LEDs and Resin. After so many videos, I like how this shows every step - even with some mistakes and how to fix it. Hopefully I'll give this a shot, soon. Thanks for the guide!
You got it! Thanks for watching :)
And as usual you brought up an idea:
How about making crystal halways.
You know with led lighted stales and stuff.
Something like a holy church only much more bright.
Hmmmm.... very cool idea Tristan !! Thanks.
I love your peppermint ice cube ! 😆
Haha… it’s making me want to make some Jello!
That's an awesome looking dungeon roomba. Love it!
Thanks Karl !
Damn fine job brother! I'm not the least bit "jelly"....
haha... I was waiting for that comment :) Thank you !
@@TabletopWitchCRAFT What can I say? The power of craft compels me, the power of craft compels me....🤘🏼

What an awesome small project! This is something very useful no matter what level crafter you are. Seasoned and fledglings alike can make great use of this.
Thank you!
this would be so cool to have on the table
It does look pretty cool :) Thank you !
I hit the road for a week and as I’m connecting through an airport, I see this video! I have to tell you - your soldering skills are improving with every video!
Thanks! :)
Good job on the cube. Need to build one now. Thanks
Right on Karl! Have fun!
Real great build of a classic! One suggestion: buy some pumps for your 4L jugs. They are pretty inexpensive and will be far less mess when pumping out resin.
That’s an AWESOME idea!!! Perfect for measuring too!! Thanks!
@@TabletopWitchCRAFT My wife and I bought the pumps when we purchased some 2L jugs. It's sooo much better. Oh, and I love that you added the LED. I had a design for one just like yours, but it was early on and I hadn't much experience with resin so I had envisioned having to suspend an object inside using fishing line. Of course, waiting until it's set somewhat is a far better solution.
That deserves a thumb up!
Right on Sebastien!
Awesome as always definitely going to give this a shot and it gives me an idea for doing oozes as well
Thank you Stephen !! The oozes sound cool using this method...
Holy crap, that is absolutely brilliant!
Right on Will! Thanks :)
Always amazed by your creativity. Thank you so much for this.
You got it... thanks for watching :)
John, a quick, easy and fun project! Love this video, great job. Just might need to build a couple of these for my sons campaigns.
Totally Scott. I want to make some more that are different colors too.
@@TabletopWitchCRAFT that would be really cool.
Whoa! Very cool cube... I'll give it a try!
Nice !! Post a pic of it on my FB page :)
Super cool project! You could also use packing tape as a releasable surface as well :)
Cool tip.. thanks.
Omg, I love it! Just found you from the Insta Live chat with Jay, and I'm hooked. Can't wait to check out your terrain as well 👍
Awesome, thanks for hanging out and stopping by the channel. Enjoy the videos :)
Nice! I've been working on ideas for new LED projects, and this is a great one! I like the base design for the LED and battery holder.
Thank you Tim. Yeah this is a fun, easy, and really quick project. Make a few :)
@@TabletopWitchCRAFT I have many Gelatinous Cubes already, but I can definitely add more to the collection!
@@chemgeektim Do you have one that glows :)
@@TabletopWitchCRAFT Not yet! But as the saying goes, there’s always room for Jello! *grin*
this would make a Gelatinous would make a great silicon mold to make more from in different colours
Oh yeah, I want to make a bunch now of different colors!
Thanks!!! It is amazing! I am definitly going to make some of those!
"Some" of those!!!! yes... I'm making more too. Thanks :)
Nicely done! Thank you for this. I've been trying to figure out how to make a Blob (1958) out of resin to go with 3.75 scale figures.
Glad I could help!
awesome build! great video, Keep On Crafting
You know it :) !! Thank you.
Oooh it looks nice!
Thanks :)
*Running a combat encounter and the wizard gets swallowed by the gelatinous cube.
The Wizard casts Light.
Then the DM turns on the miniature and smugly watches the players lose their minds!
Yeah, what a cool scenario!
I used hot glue and the plastic container dice sets come in. Fits a mini perfectly
Nice!
Thanks for the inspiration! I made a 3"x3" icy blue version of this for an upcoming oneshot I'm running. I added skeleton minis and pieces along with a treasure chest that you can see in the cube. I'd post pics but UA-cam keeps flagging the post when I add the link. Anyway, thanks for the idea.
That sounds really cool! Feel free to post a pic in my Fan Art Photo Album on my Facebook page!
Awesome little project. As for the candle, though, you may want to trim the candle wick so it doesn’t burn so high.
Thank you, yes I've since got a trimmer for my wick :)
A cool cube bro, after the fact I bought mine.... now i can make an army of cubes....sinister laughter
haha.. awesome... Thanks!
Its beautiful!
Thank you :)
Outstanding
Thank you !!
So good!!!
Thank you Paul :)
Excellent!
Thanks Scotty :)
merci tres sympa joli travail
De rien, merci d'avoir regardé.
You definitely should be a DM or hire one to use your projects. You must do this. lol.
I DM as well as my brother… they get their fair share of table time :)
Love it!
Thank you!!
Very cool build, oozes are perfect use for spare resin and you can get really creative with them.
What are those lights you are using? I can't seem to find them in the description.
I have the link to Terrain-Tronics in the description. He's got all you need there for electronics including the lights! Thanks :) !!
So I was thinking, there is a resin(?) or a clear rubber that if you mix slightly wrong, it becomes very wobbly and not stiff.
Almost like a jello, so when you place this based Gelatinous Cube on the gaming table, it will shake and wobble each time you move it.
It's hilarious in contrast to everything else on the board being static. It even wobbled from dice hitting the table.
**sigh** But I can't remember now, it was along time ago I made my Gelatinous Cubes, but it might have been made with some 'chemicals/resins/fluid mixtures/glues/liquid rubber intended for boats'.
I used to use those boat solutions a while back as they are 9/10 of the price and 9/10 stronger, better, longer lasting than the equivalent that is usually sold to us terrain builders/hobbyists. 'Boat glue' must be the strongest glue there is.
Sounds like a fun dynamic mini :)
That's so cool
Thank you Steve!
Dude that looks much better than the one i bought from wiz kids.
Thanks Eric !!
You can throw in a space marine bolter or helmet to through off your D&D party hehehehheheheh! Great job man! GEL CUBE CULT!!!
Oh man I love that idea! So easy to make... I'm going to do it. Thanks Juston !
Pretty dope.
Right on Alvin! Thanks.
I am SO making this, this weekend! I love it! I don't suppose you have any tips for making a giant violet fungus? That's my current assignment from my DM. I'm not going to ask WHEN we'll need it... O.O
Awesome, have fun with your cube :) I have a video that's a tree stump with growing LED mushrooms... check that one out!
Brilliant!! 💯💯💥
Thank you !!
And just like that I found my next project :D
haha... awesome!
Sweet!!!
Thank you !
You should look into gummy resin, I made my gelatinous cube out of that so it has a squishy feel to it, my fiancee loved it.
Very interesting. will do. Thanks!
Loved the build… but there isn’t a link for the actual LED wire… where did you get that from?
It's in there :) Terrain-Tronics. All you need for electronics!
@@TabletopWitchCRAFT hah... well I don't know how I didn't see that before :P
I couldn’t catch the name of the Etsy store you shouted out for the minis. What was it?
Barthels Marvels... a great shop.
If you dont have or know where to buy these liquid dyes if some stores aren't carrying them. I wonder if water base food dyes will work just as good as the expensive ink dyes. I may just have to experiment and see if food dye will work.
I would definitely do some tests first as some resin will react badly to certain dyes.
Ok I finally did a test using some 2 part epoxy resin glue like Loctite which I know many will use instead as a substitute and I used the water base Schilling Assorted food&egg dye. First I used only 2 drops of green dye and it came out really dark green so I tried to lighten it up with some yellow food dye. But I didnt put a few drops in, for when I tried the add a few drops it squirted a large amount of yellow so I mixed it up anyways hoping it would lighten the green dye. At first it looked like a dark muddy brown color instead. After drying over night I was kinda glad to see the color it turned out. Instead of the muddy brown color, after holding it up to the light, the yellow and green separated. What I got was this cool looking yellow with streaks of orange like a tie dye color and the green turned out to be these little specs of green dots giving the look of bacteria growing in the epoxy.
I'm gonna have to try it again using the actual 2 part epoxy resin and see how the food dye turns out.
That was awesome…what would be more awesome is a place for the gelatinous cube to emerge from……something lime an outhouse, and outhouse of Doom even. Just sayin’. 😜
LOL... actually a perfect scenario for one Andy.... and yet another great case for the outhouse of Doom!
im wanting to make an ice cavern modular set. looking for a clear resin to use. any ideas?
Sure, check out this vide for some inspiration! ua-cam.com/video/pRDmNd0gF1w/v-deo.html
sweet
Thanks!
I wonder if you could use food coloring?
Possibly. I’m not sure how it would react. That would be a cool experiment to try!
Is that EL wire for the light? Does it make high pitch ringing sound?
It makes no sound. There’s a link in the video description to the exact item I used.
If you made a slightly larger version do you think you could combine the light effect with a hollow space to contain a players mini? 😈
Certainly! Two forms one inside the other and the LED light wrapped around the exterior. Cool idea.
WHERE THE HECK DID YOU FIND A SINGULAR Cr22 battery case ?! I’ve been looking for those.
In the video description…. I got a link there just for you :)
You da best.
Hi can you give me the link where you got the miniature things that you put inside because i just cant find anything
Thank you
Sure, check out Barthels Marvels on Etsy.
👍👍👍
You do some incredible building complexes. I came to you asking for help. I am doing a pagoda, but
Thank you…. Your question?
@@TabletopWitchCRAFT I guess a lot of it got erased. I cant figure out the roof tiles. I was going to try and cut straws, or maybe just scalloped edges. If you look at photos. it is Us with small beads on the seams. Flat it would be one thing but the roofs have that curve to complicate it even more.
Any suggestions to represent that terracotta style of roofing? I have recently thought about the corrugation of cardboard by itself.
@@keithmcauslan943 Sounds like you have some good thoughts already. That's the thing with shingles... they are very time consuming, but if you take your time and do it right they will make your final build look amazing. Short of buying a mold and casting them I'd say you're looking at cutting each one out.
Did things change from when I played D&D many many years ago? I remember that a gelatinous cube was huge, and blocked the entire dungeon corridor, wall to wall, floor to ceiling.
How big would you say the one you remember was?…. This one “to scale” is 10’x10’. That’s pretty big!
@@TabletopWitchCRAFT I don't rightly remember size. This was in the days of pencil and paper. LOL All I remember was that it was a pest to get by, if at all even possible. And if you found it in a dungeon corridor that you HAD TO go through, it needed to be destroyed completely to make travel through that corridor possible. But then again, we are talking a long time ago.
How about a pack of Stirges?
You don’t see them often.
Cool idea! Thanks.

Nice but that's more like a cubette. I've never seen a gelatinous cube that small.
Plus I was looking for a DIY gelatinous cube tutorial and this isn't one. With all the stuff you have and are using I'd probably be spending $50-$100 on just the material and equipment just to make that and at that price I could just go online and buy a gelatinous cube for like $10.
It's a concept... make it huge if you want. That's a great idea! And I have to disagree that this is not a tutorial. I make crafts with the supplies I have. I can't assume what the world will have with their craft supplies. This cost me a few bucks.
A 10x10 cube shouldn't be on a base.
A cool cube bro, after the fact I bought mine.... now i can make an army of cubes....sinister laughter
Yeah, that would be awesome to lay down a horde of these!
