    Happy to see more mATX cases out there that leave room for cooling and large GPUs. I love the smaller cases but am not a fan of paying the ITX tax for smaller boards. I just wish there were more high end mATX boards out there. Asus tried it with the Gene but they went a bit too crazy with all the features they threw in there. I just bought this case. I have started my build for an off game system (supplementing my main desktop), and now awaiting the SSD and CPU cooler. So far the instructions are a little weak, especially around the PSU mount, but loads of options for my AC build. I have also gotten the VGPU mount, I am a sucker for vertical mount and I am so tired of GPU sag issues...Yes this has a cool anti-sag but I just went with the VGPU mount. My system is an AORUS B550 MATX w/5600G and 16GB memory, and a VGPU mounted RX6600. Will be very interesting to see how this stacks up to my crappy Chinese MATX case from Amazon.

    Sama IM01 Pro is honestly a better buy. Full mesh, all steel construction, less than 26L and around the same price. Downside of the case is the power cable is a pig tail connection. It doesn’t bother me too much since you will already have a power cable connecting to the PSU

    • @JohnVannoy
      @JohnVannoy 4 місяці тому +2

      Since the PSU mounts at the front, it seems an odd design choice for this Lian Li to have a solid front panel. You would want the PSU to be able to pull in cool outside air (thru the front panel), like it can in the Sama case.

    • @UranTCG
      @UranTCG 4 місяці тому +1

      @@JohnVannoy Having it pull air from inside the case and function as an exhaust is probably a net benefit. Your PSU isn't going to overheat and it could possibly contribute to airflow. Nothing wrong with pulling outside air, but the PSU doesn't care if it's pulling ambient air or case air. It'll be fine.

    loks like a great case but 1 thing i dont understand, why would one make the front not vented and make the psu gulp on that hot air from the inside instead of facing the front for fresh air... Would have been a great case, but that fact makes it a disappointment for me. Looks like Jonsplus(Jonsbo) Z20 is still the best choice in this form factor in my book.

    • @EnergeticTK

  • @59.9fps
    @59.9fps 21 день тому

    The Asus AP201 has front mesh panel, which allows PSU intake fan to face the front, rather than taking in air from the motherboard side which will not be cold. This is one disadvantage over the gold standard of this form factor. Though including GPU bracket is a plus in the A3.
    Edit: The AP201 also has 170mm CPU cooler clearance, making it compatible with a NH-D15 at 168mm. Not so much with A3

    I love your videos. Normally they are very detailed with all the combinations and differences in temperature, but this one is not. I'm sorry you didn't show all the possibilities of this interesting case. For example, with the SFX PSU I would like to see a combination with a 360mm radiator on the side (intake, exhaust), 3 fans on top, 3 fans on the bottom and one on the back (intake, exhaust). So a total of 10 fans in that 26 liter case and that's what makes it possibly the best MATX case out there right now. If the 360mm aio is the LIan Li Galahad II 360 Trinity Performance, that would be very interesting to see against large PC cases. Of course with 13900k/14900k. Thank you.

  • @fourltrman
    @fourltrman 3 місяці тому +1

    The only things I would have added to the review are. Should have included side fans in the review. And, in the current review form. You should have shown the numbers with the bottom fans removed but the back fan as exhaust as well. Not saying it's a bad review just suggesting more configurations show since they are available to anyone who buys this case.

  • @mcp20366
    @mcp20366 4 місяці тому

    A minimal enclosure Faraday Case will suffice. Closing off the top is indeed not disturbing the ventilation. The bottom, esppecially with an ATX case would not need fans. Unless you would want to create positive pressure in the case and you'd wanna catch dust at the bottom fiilter. I'm thinking an air cooled build with this case. The side mesh panel for me makes the glass panel obsolet and the better option. Closing off the top would be my choise, but the exhaust fan on the back should be totally functional. Closing the top really makes me conosider thin fans at the bottom just to draw air in and get psoitive pressure in the case. As you'll notice, I'm a big fan of air cooling. A car vehicle made for outdoor usage may fare well with watercooling. In a non-humid electrical environment as a PC, there no place for watercooling.

  • @LapNgo-h9u
    @LapNgo-h9u 4 місяці тому +7

    I don't like that the front panel is non-ventilated. The PSU and CPU will be competing for the same air, to some extent (when air cooled).

    Would there be a way to mount a 360mm rad to the side (using that panel at 7:08), place an ATX power supply at the side of the motherboard and not in the front configuration, whilst keeping maximum size for GPU length (415 mm)?
    If I read Lian Li's chart correctly, it seems like it would be possible, as long as the ATX PSU is under 150mm. If that is true and does indeed fit, I'm sure that would be the configuration with the least compromises!

    Would swapping the radiator fans to slim ones help with space?

      Yes, but if space is an issue I would rather go with a standard thickness rad and full thickness fans.

    Seems with all the perforated panels air flow not an issue if one were to choose an air cooled system. whats the tower clearance? And boy i would love an option for a TG side panel to view my work. I mean if the NR200p (my current rig) can make a TG panel work with air cooling why not this.

      Should check out Mr. Matt Lee's video. In short, it won't fit the new arctic freezer 3 360mm. I'm not sure about the 240 and 280mm versions though, as it will most likely depend on the motherboard

      Torrent Nano is 34.6 L. I have one and it is shockingly large. I wish this A3 was available when I built my PC because it looks like what I actually wanted.

    • @MachinesMore
      @MachinesMore  4 місяці тому +2

      The one consideration would be SFX cables are shorter, so for a longer front mount run you won’t have as much flexibility to conceal them behind things. Otherwise the cage is equipped with an SFX plate out of the box.
