    Sliding the cables between the psu and front panel is a TIP I haven’t seen for this case after watching a few videos, so thank you for that! Waiting for this case to arrive and I’m going to try fit my matx build into it. Only thing I’m worried about is my current Psu isn’t modular so probably gonna end up switching that out but I’ll still try 😂 great video as always !

      @@Necromancerbob-zp7us One thing Gear Seekers mentioned in their review was that the top radiator mounts weren't removable which would allow you to install the PSU before an AIO and if you needed to do anything with an AIO or radiator you would be able to just pull it from the top instead of having to fully uninstall the PSU to even get to it. He did mention that it might have been done in order to maintain rigidity for the chassis, plus you can kind of do that with the side mount.

    I was impressed by this case when I saw it a few days ago, so I went ahead and ordered it. I didn't go for the glass panel because of thermal issues that I didn't want to deal with. Anyway, I used an ITX motherboard with a 360mm AIO mounted on the side panel. I set the fans as intake because I wanted the radiator cooled by cool air, not the warm air inside the case. Also, side mounting the AIO makes it easier for me to access the connections on the motherboard. I have fat fingers! =) I installed an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX GPU. Since I used an ITX motherboard, the GPU sat high up and I was able to install a couple of 120mm Noctua intake fans on the bottom grill. With this configuration, I was able to install a 120mm intake fan on the back, and a couple of 120mm exhaust fans on the top. As for cable management, I didn't have any problems routing the fan cables where the power cable extension was. I could have put a third 120mm on the bottom, but I used that space to house the cables. Everything was neatly tucked under the side mounted PSU, which I placed on the highest setting. I am a happy camper. =)

    It has the same oversized length Asus Prime AP201 and Jonsbo D31 cousins have. So no marketing image shows it straight angle from the side.

    Very toight! I see that the tempered glass side panel is an accessory to be purchased separately. Newegg has the case and they have the panel, but the panel isn't addable or even "people also bought this" from the case page - You have to go find it with your own searching skills. It costs $18 for the panel. I really like this case at $70. I just kinda like it at $88. Wish we had more footage of the complete build with the mesh panel on.

    I did the jump to MATX a couple years ago. I already had a case with a compact horizontal footprint (but tall, like a building), and last year I got a "cube" case with a internal layout that I consider ideal.
    The motherboard is in the horizontal, with the PSU below it. The whole thing is about a 30cm/1ft in all dimensions. No more "compact" anything for me, since the only limitation is that the GPU must be up to 30cm in length, but that only exclude really top end overclocked cards, or smaller ones with oversized cooling (looking at you, RTX4060 bigger than a 4080...).
    Besides the GPU length limitation, it also don't support liquid cooling, but as a firm believer in air cooling, that don't affect me, since it can accommodate big air coolers.
    It is also super easy to work with, since all panels are removable and there is no component getting squashed into each other. And the cherry on top is: no more GPU sag for me.

There's one B650E from Biostar (and impossible to buy just about anywhere) and Asus X670E Gene that is both outrageously expensive and also discontinued - it's the only mATX motherboard that comes with USB4. I really, really hope new AM5 chipsets will improve this situation... allegedly all X870 motherboards will have USB4 as standard. Lets see how many mATX board will we get this time...

    Is this case the reason why Dan stopped the C4-SFX production so short? Probably. I mush prefer the C4-SFX. If you are going SFF either go mini ITX board or might as well go the full hog ATX size mother board. With the size of GPU's these days those PCIE slots on MTX boards are totally useless. The extra memory slots are pretty useless too because todays CPUI's don't perform and behave well with 4 slots of memory filled. Lastly they built this entire case with metal and then go put a plastic front cover on it. Why? Just cheapens the case. I'm sure people would be willing to pay a few bucks more if it came with a metal front panel.
    I hope Dan pulls the finger out and gets more C4-SFX cases produced because that is the one we want.

    Great job, but the same observation for the lack of front vents so that a > 1000 W source draws air from the outside, not from the inside (special in GAMES). Perhaps the Lian Li smart collaborator Der Bauer should also have been consulted... The version with WOOD is also very beautiful.

    The side fans won't make a difference if you're using an AIO instead of TF cooler like the Big Shuriken 3. I wish they did a full ATX version that also support bottom fans and had a better looking front panel. Sure they can a offer an optional glass panel for anyone willing to sacrifice performance for the looks. That would be my dream case.

  • @justincase2312
    @justincase2312 3 місяці тому

    Now cases require 3 slots minimum for the GPU, they may as well add another slot for mATX support, barely needing to change the dimensions of the case.
    Would normally say that boards with the x16 slot as the second slot down are a bad idea for SFF builds, as it means that the GPU is starved of air up against the bottom of the case where the PSU usually sits. In this case it was a really good idea, being close to the ventilated case bottom.

      In our test system the intake was coming from the GPU fans as they are just about touching the flor of the case. with some slimmer graphics cards and motherboards that utilise the very top PCIe slot cut-out you will be able to install floor fans, the floor has a dust filter.

    And here I am, watching this video, why this case sits empty in my game room, lol. Waiting for my new CPU to come in.

      @KitGuruTech 13900k. Got a great deal together with the Direct Die Iceman Waterblock on eBay. Using a Z790i Lighting AsRock, hoping to push 8000+ mhz on the memory, currently rocking a 12700k with a great IMC that got me 7800mhz 24hrs stable on a Z690i Unify. But want to push 1440p 480hz for when the PG27AQDP comes out.

      The fans on the side will be great to keep the memory cool, or maybe I'll put a waterblock on them and make them part of the loop.

    Is this a case you would buy if you were building a system in this sector James ? You get to see a lot. What’s it closest competitor ?

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  3 місяці тому

      I would consider buying it for a compact mATX build as it is priced well. Closest competition is maybe the Asus AP210.

    Support for shift psu would be great as it could fit better

      This. Ive seen another review that seems to fit the shift. The psu would mounted on the 2.5 ssd tray. Theres a provision for it and mounting screws. Wires would be facing down. Im thinking of taking the risk with my shift.

    Great case. For the most part, it looks like a shorter ASUS AP201. The footprint is about the same as the AP201 so it'll take as much desk space.

    • @KitGuruTech

    Is the front being closed off completely a big negative for the PSU, in that it can have access to fresh air, or has that not been a big deal?

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  3 місяці тому

      I dont think its a big issue, it gets some airflow from the graphics card with pass though type coolers and also help from the top fans/top AIO to exhaust heat.

      @@KitGuruTech Thanks for the answer, I'm considering this case or the Asus AP201. Would be interesting to do a comparison, just an idea :)

    is the gpu resting on the bottom of the case? or does it still need some support? Also the main competition seems to be the asus ap201. so it will be good to see them placed side by side

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  3 місяці тому

      It depends on the size of the GPU but some might rest on the floor of the case, there is a GPU support bracket included with the case.
