I knew there was a reason I like the Dum Dum Girls and her. I love The Only Ones. I also love the fact that a band that calls themselves The Dum Dum Girls puts out very intelligent music. She's great and I will be checking out more of her music as Kristen.
Sinead's "This is the last day of our acquaintance" should have been what "nothing compares to you" was. Much stronger stronger song though not taking a shot at Prince, just Sinead's song was overlooked and is better.
I'm more into their drummer previous band than The Only Ones themselves... I think the LP "Spooky Two" (1969) is superior... but of course... How to decently compare 2 records from 2 differents era ?
+Mywork777 No knock on Bowie or Prince or anything but they literally wear the same weird shit. To a lot of artists it's more about the whole experience rather than just the music. To me, and most, it's just about the music though I'd say.
Can't understand why ,her band wasn't bigger. I think her music is way underrated.
I agree completely man.
Soooo good .....like an all female JAMC
She is so cool, she cant be bothered enunciating her words with any energy.
Wow. Saint Etienne. Cool. Criminally underrated pop band.
Kirk Colton fuck yea
Saw them at v festival in 98. One of the best acts on the bill.

The Sound and Bowie, a thumbs up from me.
Thank you Kristin, I picked up Jeopardy on a whim after hearing the snippet here and I am now hooked.
Hell yeah The Sounds! "Heartland" is another major personal fav from that album, have DJed that album a lot.
Omg.....Sinead Oconnors cover of Song to the Siren.....is amaze, ballz
Good selection. The Sound are way too good just to know about one song...and yes they're difficult to have them played in a session...
Forget this Kristin Kontorl crap and get Dum Dum Girls going again!
Great selections. And Kristin's album is fantastic. Thanks for this one!

Blackstar & I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got are great choices.

The only ones are one of my favorite rock bands ever. Beautifully written songs. Apparently a favorite of the Replacements also. Nice vinyl pics.

Cool glasses.
Some ppl try to hard to be cool. It's boring.
Exactly. Many young hipster rockers are so self-conscious it is stupid like this chick with the swim googles on. Where are the true artists?

living & creating art ... not promoting themselves, most likely
yeah, but those guys are talented. this chick makes trite dream pop indie music. She doesn't have an original idea in her head.
dream pop indie music? you don't seem to have any idea what you're talking about.
What. A. Poseur.
