it's 2 a.m here, I just finished episode 3x03 of OITNB, I can't believe they are sending Nikki to max, this scene was so beautifully made, though, you could feel the emotions, Natasha Lyons's performance was so impressive, I hope she get's out of max soon, she is among my favorite inmates.
It's so sad but it's unlikely she'll get out of max, they said once you go down the hill you don't come back :'(

This was the last thing my best friend texted me before he died of a fentanyl overdose, the link to this song. I almost feel like he knew he was going to die that night, or possibly did it on purpose. He had schitzophrenia, and the opiates made the voices go away. But he also got in to a verbal altercation with one of our other friends that day, which really seemed to affect him negatively. Anyways, I listen to this song all the time and just cry my eyes out , especially at the peak of the song.
He was 18 months clean and 1 pill took his life. Stay away from blues people. 1 pill will kill. I hope you're doing alright up there Austin. Rest in Peace my little cranberry. 🙏😇💜❤️

I ended up almost dying on numerous occasions because I became suicidal, not only because of that, but because that was one of the last straws in my depression. But I am doing a lot better now. So just don't do what I did. I can't believe I am still here and I want to make the best of it now.

This song means and says so much to me. Addiction is so hard to deal with. I lost family to it so many times and for me this song just really expresses how hard it is to deal with them in your family the emotion and politics of if they are using or not and all the lies. This song captures the amount of pain and strife there is not through words as much as atmosphere. When you listen to this song it feels like you're being told something just earth shattering it's hard to explain.

Dum Dum Girls has an amazing sound- this song happens to sound like Mazzy Star but their songs are a lot more different. Very 60's meets grunge= love!! Awesome beats.

Definitely has that Mazzy Star feel: shoegaze and a specific "90's Alternative" sound... not quite grunge, at least to my ears. It reminds me of the Alternative bands who played rock with a heavy shoegaze influence (Smashing Pumpkins, Dinosaur Jr, etc).
Even though the two are so similar, I think Mazzy Star has a much *softer* sound compared to Dum Dum Girls... And I don't mean that as criticism. I love the hell outta both groups.

The very last time I partook in X, I rode this beautiful song in a wave like trance a couple times until the “there I goooooo”, which brought me right back up to the top of the wave where I surfed yet again down into a pool of tears.. I had to hit repeat maybe 3/4 times and as I fell asleep, I remember thinking “ this way a nice send off into sobriety “..
Moral, don’t so drugs, but if you do, do them responsibly and not very often.
For those of you that feel the need to judge, most of those caught in a need to escape their pain in unconventional ways are there because they can’t bear another moment living inside the hell that is their life. They didn’t ask for it, they were born into it or as they grew, their reality shrunk and the walls caved in all around them until it forced them out of whatever safety bubble they had and into the cold dark world where happiness can be bought albeit briefly.
It is more important to ask “why” then to condemn. It is more important to be the change you want in someone than it is to tell them they are letting you down.
For those of you struggling, may this song bring you familiarity and bliss, may it cover you in a warm and comforting blanket of doubt layered in love.
You can recover, you can step out of what you’re in.
Remember one thing, if nothing more of what I’ve written.

Got here because of Gossip Girl 5x11 and I realized I also heard this same song in The Vampire Diaries! 💕 I’m not sure but I think I also heard this in Pretty Little Liars.

Came across this song after I heard it during the credits for the canyons movie (ehh it's an so so ok movie) but I just love this song, the tone, the lyrics to smooth yet powerful beats/etc. Reminded me of war paint and the yeah yeah yeahs, and maybe a bit of cat power. Catchy song

that's because (well aside from both lead female vocalists having such a beautifully haunting voice) in this song, they use the same chords:
D, A, Em, Em. ooh come to think of it Bm chord is in the bridge of this song and is also used in the chorus of "Fade Into You." I only know this because I'm obsessed with both bands and I've learned how to cover both songs on acoustic. :)

I only learned about this band two days ago and I am already a huge fan. I love this song. It is so moving.
Dee Dee's mother died during the course of a year during the writing and recording of Only in Dreams. This song was written about her mom's final few days and the way Dee Dee disengaged emotionally. "I think it's a common reaction that people, myself included, want to disengage when something's that overwhelming. It's why people go out and get wasted when they have bad news. I was on a serious attempt to not deal with what was going on and trying to stay as out of it as possible, because it was just an overwhelming situation, coming in and out of being forced to realize what was going on. That's basically what 'coming down' is in reference to."
