You were a metalhead and didn't even know it.
Yeah I kinda remember slipknot growing up...but I gew up in the projects and kinda doubled down on rap to fit in until my 20's...
Everybody is, once they accept it.
Absolutely.
Ive been a metal and hard core punk kid since the earily 80s and raised on a steady diet of earily punk and hard rock from birth.
Now playing it to my grand kids as classical music.... lol
True 🤘
Bro, as an older metal head, watching you react to this is like i’m listening to it again for the first time.
Thank you for that. Genuinely.
You’ve got such a journey ahead of you mate, you’ve no idea.
Excited to see it 🤘🏼
Can't wait till he gets into death metal
Same, morbid angel, deicide, obituary @@spikethebulldoghackett70
Same from me! I’m 54 and been a metal head since the early 80s. It’s so enjoyable to relive the moment with someone hearing this music for the first time!
Nice!!!! Need to check out a few Static X songs if you like this heavy shit!!!
@@spikethebulldoghackett70 he's got some absolute treats in store for him 🤗
I’ve been a Slipknot fan since Iowa. 53 yrs old still head-banging brother.
You should check out Pigs original band called "Down the Sun". It's fantastic!
From a 20-year maggot (Slipknot fan) to a new maggot, welcome to the family!! 🤘🤘🤘
Nothing like seeing them live. The whole place goes crazy, everyone is happy. Its a must.....
Agree!!! So much fn fun!!
Yeah I’ve seen them live once
I remember screaming to one of my friends when it was over
I want more 😂
Seen Slipknot twice and it was absolute madness both times!
"Left Behind" is a GREAT SLIPKNOT song and video
nah Sulfur>
you should see Spit It Out Live at Download 2009. I was there and it was insane. Was there last year for it as well
I'm jealous. Did you jump the F up?
@@bretttodd6470 You know he did, got to be a MAGGOT MATE!
Yes, I suggested reacting to the studio version (great video) then the live version in one go.
Yes!! Do this one^^!!!!
@@bretttodd6470Of course. Last year a lot of the crowd were already down before being asked
The hits just keep coming!!
Ekco...missed ya!
I'm 70 years old. I LOVE your videos. You have a genuiness (not a word, I know) about your videos that keeps me coming back. Regarding the older videos, you may listen to them now, but some of us have lived through them. Thank you for your honest opinions and thank you for letting me remember all the good times!
70 as well. Huge Slipknot fan. Love seeing your reactions to these older videos, too.
The acoustic version of snuff is a must listen.
Yes, especially if you want to see just how diverse his vocals really are not to mention his other ban d stone sour
Absolutely and for sure!!!!
YES
SPIT SPIT SPIT SPIT SPIT IT OUT IT OOUUTT. AND LIVE AT DOWNLOAD
I got into slipknot in 2020, they’ve completely changed the trajectory of my life along with Metallica, I’d recommend “Nero forte” as it’s one of those songs that got me into them in the first place
Favorite song, feel like its really underrated compaired to their other songs ❤
What makes your reaction to this tune and video so much better than it already is, is watching your reaction to the first 30 seconds of BYOB video! 😳
MAchine Head - Davidian They are a great blend of Pantera and 80s Thrash bands like Metallica. Especially this Song since its one of their heaviest and the one that made them popular in the 90s.
Another great pick would be To the Hellfire by Lorna Shore, cause it is a great introduction to multiple styles of Metal and also more modern Stuff.
Ooooo he'd lose his shit on that outro riff 😁
The riffs on that song are killer
Lorna Shore is dog shit TikTok metal.
Love machine head
MfnH 🤘🏻🤘🏻He should check out Become the Firestorm from their new album too 😁
Disasterpiece!!! 🤘🔥🔥🔥🤘
Hell yeah bro. Can't go wrong with SlioKnot. Can't wait for "The Devil in I" video.lol
My favorite Slipknot song by a mile. DO NOT drive while listening to it. :)
This tune is awesome.
I will keep saying this! Your channel is my new favorite! I literally check everyday to see what you have reacted to. I’m right there with you with becoming a new metal head in the last year or less. Ever since I saw Avatar, they’ve opened the door to metal for me. But I love how the music is so good, it makes you emotional. It’s the same for me & I’ve never found someone else like that! So I super appreciate you & your genuine reactions! I love this channel! Thank you!
Same
Corey Taylor is like the Eminem of the metal world, his lyrical ability is next level and the instrumental prowess of the band is insane (rip Joey) you shoud check out custer and the devil in i 👍and to learn the meaning of crowd control check out spit it out live at download 2009 🎉
My fave Slipknot song. Good choice. Check out Nero Forte as well.
I'm 60 and still love slip knot!
I love how music gives people an emotional reaction. If you can't feel the music then is it lovable? This was an awesome ride with you!
Being a Metalhead most of my life I can say that once you're infected you're infected brother metal never leaves you whether you're having your best day or your worst day there's always a metal song to describe how you feel on the inside God it's such a beautiful thing
Absolutely agree!!!
Surfacing from Slipknot's first album. I always come back to that one whenever the world beats me down.
Slipknot..... awesome 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘✌️🦘Neo Forte 👌
Objectively their best song.
Veryyy good pick. Slipknot puts on an amazing show I seen them live with Gojira( one of my favorite death metal bands) and behemoth. It is amazing. If you ever get a chance to see them do it.
For vocals you have to check out a song called Pisces by Jinjer, singer Tatiana has a beautiful voice
He has mate.
I grew up with my dad listening to bands like Slipknot and I was 15 maybe 16 the first time I seen them live. In my opinion Slipknot is one of the best bands I’ve ever seen live.
It's not a complicated song... But it goes hard, and it's extremely well put together.
I think the appeal of Nu Metal is that every song is a roller coaster ride. You feel like you get jerked around and can’t see what’s coming next and just when you think you’re getting comfortable another big drop comes. I think that’s part of why the reactions get so much traction, we all remember the first time we heard each of these songs and were completely mind blown. 😂
The blister exist is probably my favorite slipknot song
Left behind , sulfur , spit it out , eyeless , dead memories , disasterpiece , sic , and Nero forte are some great songs that I enjoy
The Devil in I !
The Devil in I !
The Devil in I !
& Spit it Out, live @ download!
How many drummers , that's the awesome part.
Corey has a beautiful voice when he sings with clear vocals. Stone Sour is his other band and also worth checking out. That band is less wild than Slipknot. 'Through Glass' is a good song.
We need a reaction vids to Surfacing & Disasterpiece
The track "Iowa" (from the album of the same name), about "fun with a corpse", is an absolute masterpiece! You gotta hear it!
I’m mostly stuck on my old metal
Music and then my kids had me listen to this! Slipknot is in a class all by themselves. They just came on the scene and blew everyone away! Much respect to them. Corey can scream and sing beautifully. Just amazing!
As a long-time metalhead myself, who was born and raised in Iowa (the home state of Slipknot), I'm glad the new generation are finding rock and metal bands and enjoying them. Seeing you and others discovering these bands for the first time reminds me of how I felt when I first listened to them over two decades ago now.
Keep rockin' MollyBoy! 🤘
EDIT: Another great song from Slipknot is "The Devil In I" which is a song about facing your greatest fears/phobias. In the music video for it, the bandmembers themselves are facing off against some of their greatest fears.
Pretty sure you would like/love Killswitch Engage. First try maybe "my last serenade", "Rose of Sharyn", "The End of Heartache"... All great songs... mix of harsh and clean vocals... Amazing band.
Is this the fastest, rewinded and likely song that you did so far?😂😂😂 I love it!!!
Slipknot was the first Real Metalband ive heard when i think i was ten or something and i loved it from the beginning😂
Now i,m 25 and have it tattoed fat on my Leg.
Do you ever heard to Slaughter to prevail?
Just hear to Bonebreaker, Viking and Demolisher...maybe Baba yaga too😂
Oh MollyBoy I've been waiting a long time for this one.
This is a band I haven’t heard enough of so I’m glad for another stab. Great reaction. I’m thinking you’d prolly like Sevendust, their riffage has a similar bent to Slipknot, great vox too.
Dude have you been to a metal show yet? You’re ready for one. Rawk!
Slipknot have so much good songs.enjoy the ride✌️
Man you honestly remind me of me listening to all this stuff when I was in my late teens. Just totally blew me away and I was so obsessed with this whole nu metal scene. I even popped my concert cherry to seeing Slipknot live off their debut album, that changed me forever. Second band after that was Linkin Park Hybrid Theory tour. As a little kid I grew up on grunge and in my late teens nu metal. That’s what was new and happening at the time. Looking back I’m so thankful and lucky I was born and grew up in such a great era. I just turned 41 recently….. how time flies! Been watching some of your vids, love them. You’ve got a new subscriber bruv!
LOVE YOUR REACTION! There is so much more to Slipknot than people who don’t listen to them think. Corey Taylor is a genius.
Yen is my favorite of newer Slipknot songs. The video is even better!
Slipknot has a catalog full of bangers. I recommend starting with their older stuff and work forward. You MUST see how they started. It's a joy to see you appreciate Slipknot.
you have to react to their "spit it out" live 1999" show.. its absolute madness
The absolute joy you have is infectious. I was lucky enough to see Slipknot live years ago - if you ever get the chance, go to a show!
How I terrorized my parents with Slipknot 24 years ago... 😅
Please, you have to check out a live performance of this band. Really, I'm not bullshitting you. Do it. You will love it.
"Spit It Out", "Custer", "The Heretic Anthem" or "Vermillion PT. 2" are great to see live.
Cheers Mate
Finally getting it done. Solloway firth, spit it out at download. All out life, unsainted
Molly, greetings from Texas. I saw Slipknot two years ago in Dallas, and it was the best show i have ever seen. They are just as good live.
I'm so excited to know you are venturing down this magnificent rabbit hole. Corey Taylor's voice is beautifully soul-piercing. The band energy is unmatched. My favorites include, Spit it Out, UnSainted, KillPop, The Devil n I...etc. 😜
Bruv, love the channel, so glad to see a younger generation finding this music to fall in love with. Metal is deep, enduring, and can invoke so many emotions. Cannot wait for you to do Snuff and Until we die (RIP Paul). You Should also check out Dead Memories. Keep up the awesome work man, you journey has just started and we are hear for it ALL...LETS GOOOOOO!
BTW ,,, SLAYER is reuniting to do a handful of shows,, that’s it, just a handful 🤘🏼🔥🔥🤘🏼
Who is taking Jeff's place?
@@spikethebulldoghackett70 Gary Holt from Exodus
I’m 49 now but I started breakdancing when I was 9, and exclusively listened to old school hip hop until I got to about 23 years old. Now I listen to anything, but just recently I got into Slipknot and this song is fantastic. I have a Slipknot playlist I put on at the gym, I’m surprised I don’t wreck the joint 😂
I still get bumps after all the years I have loved slipknot
Hell yeah! Slipknot kicks ass.
If you have an opportunity to see them live....PLEASE do!
this guys are another level .. 🔥🔥
The chorus (melodic singing) touches my soul and hits the feels. This song is fucking awesome.
Spit It Out Live at Download 2009 is a must
Yes!!
You need to check a band called "Death", especially those 3 songs- 'Spirit crusher", "Crystal mountain" and "Voice of the soul"
"Spiritual healing" is an absolute banger, too!
The philosopher
All the songs from all the albums tbh 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Yes yes fucking yes! Hands down best band that’s ever or will ever exist.
Anything Chuck touched was perfection!
This is my favorite era of Slipknot. It's New Wave of American Heavy Metal Slipknot. It's less nu-metal and more pure modern metal. Not so modern anymore, but its very reflective of that era. Hard verses and melodic chorus is from metalcore and to an extant Melodic Death Metal. Plus that solo coming in and then after with that breakdown. Its all very reflective of that era of 2002 to 2012. Pure NWOAHM.
Actually, "The Devil In I" is another good one too. This and "Killpop" are both great examples of where they can be mellow and haunting and.., very aggressive.
If you want even heavier stuff from Slipknot listen to the Heretic Anthem, it's a banger
You need to hear the Banjo cover where Corey comments at the end. It's genius.
Finally my boy! Thank you! This is the song that got me hooked on this band.
Spit it out ... live at the download festival if you want to see something different from these guys.
Dude I love heavier stuff even as an avid hip-hop enjoyer, there are a lot of simularities between the two genres.
You should listen to “left behind”. One of my favs and one of the best!
Great reaction. These guys were my favourite band at 16 and were my gateway to heavy music.
Haven't listened to them since this album but as you know this is a banger!
Funny thing I've got tickets to see them later in the year, I was like why not? Should be a wild ride😂
Great reaction and analysis. What sets Slipknot apart is their musicality and Corey’s voice. It allows them to push boundaries.
Mick killing the guitar
Excellent choice of a song man, bravo!!! It's great to a see a new Gen guy become a metal head like yourself, I feel your reactions and know they're genuine, keep going bro
Spiders/ATWA by SOAD
Watching you I feel like I'm watching the birth of a metalhead, and it's glorious!
Welcome to the Metal World 🤘🏻
Dude! We were teenagers when this came out. This music was our high school experience. So much you need to listen to.
Korn started it all. Static x, mudvayne, spine shank, nonpoint, bullet for my valentine, atreyu, avenged sevenfold, flyleaf, staind, papa roach, Marilyn Manson, parkway drive, limp bizkit, rob zombie, powerman 5000, union underground, flaw and the top dog ANDREW wk! ;)
Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!
Slipknot is one of the staples of nu metal. They are timeless and they’re shows are 🔥🔥 glad I’ve got to see them live a couple times seeing them again on April 😅 🤘🏼 try listening to motionless in white: reincarnate. You’ll like them forsure
Everything on self titled
A masterpiece!
Love your reaction, more Slipknot please!
Cory Taylor has an amazing range. Death metal to soft harmony.
Probably my favorite Slipknot song from my favorite album All Hope Is Gone. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Yes sir!!!! Unsainted next!
Love the review Molly, keep them coming 🤘
The Devil in I - official video. You will not disappointed.
What I like especially with this, is the fact that many metal songs are ‘singing’ through verses and then screaming through choruses, but this flips that completely. Welcome to metal, MollyBoy. 🤘🏻
You have the best reactions out there! I get goosebumps watching! Lol I dig all the cool songs you are hearing for the first time.
If you dig the singing parts you should check out Stone Sour. Corey Taylor's other band.
Love Slipknot…and this song makes me want to run through a brick wall every time!!
You are a metalhead!
Really enjoying your journey through rock & metal 😀
They are from my home state of Iowa and true story my nephews wife grew up across the street from Joey J and rode the school bus with him and after he passed my sister went to the funeral and she gave me a rock with a engraved cross 2 pair of sticks the actual obituary and a unopened can of coots beer with the logo on the lid. Only people who receive this was the ones invited to the luncheon after the burial. True Fukin story. If I could send pictures I would 🤘🤘❤️‼️ and I’m 52 and been a metal head since 76’
