In the comics, on earth 11029, Tony Stark and Victor Von Doom swap bodies. Doom is in Tony's body and vise versa. I don't believe, however, this is how the MCU is going to handle explaining this. I don't like RDJ as Doom because I think there's a good chance marvel screws the character (and movie as a whole) up- which sucks especially when the last movie RDJ was in (Emdgame) is considered by fans to be better than everything since, and I think there's this idea in the fandom of "tainting" RDJ's image in the MCU. That being said, there's nothing we can do about the casting and I know RDJ will do the best with what he's given and ultimately give us an amazing performance. I hope there's at least nods to the numerous connections Doom and Iron Man have had in the past
Fantastic points my friend! I definitely see the concerns. I sort of suspend belief when I see movies (I hope to see the Deadpool/Wolverine movie very soon btw…it makes me wonder (pure speculation) RDJ rejected any Iron Man movie offers and Disney decided, give him any other character…as long as they can get him on the screen…and hope he pulls in the crowd. I just hope the movie is well made, because with good material, I suspect RDJ will me amazing. He really is a very talented actor. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
@@Johnthecomicguy exactly, my understanding is that he is just Doom, but I am not sure how people,who just watch the movies understand the switch.. Hopefully he is Doom all the way and stays under the mask, and if the face is shown, it should be gruesome beyond recognition...
@@ThingComics I think showing RDJ face will be inevitable, but if people can suspend disbelief while watching…if he is in fact can be Victor Von Doom rather than Tony Stark, we just have to trust the creators to make it believable. Chris Evans played the Human Torch in an old Fantastic Four movie before he played a Captain America. I think these movie creators can entertain us enough to make us believe RDJ is now Victor Von Doom. (At least I’d hope so.). While RDJ is fantastic as Tony Stark, and arguably is who I embodies who I envisioned as a kid Iron Man would be, I’d perfectly fine with him playing another Marvel Character, Sherlock Holmes, or any of his other characters. The guy is an actor, not an actual super hero. He deserves to act in as many roles as he can get.

I prefer him as Doom, my hope is that he is Doom and not multiverse-Stark, who becomes Doom...But have to see how it goes 😅😊
I agree. I’d prefer him to just be the Doom character and not a variant/multiverse Tony Stark.
