Id like to throw out another relatively cheap basing option. Green stuff world sells textured rolling pins to make scenic bases for about $20. You can pick up some DAS air dry clay for about $12 from Michaels as well. Roll out your clay pretty thin, roll out the textured roller, cut them to shape over your bases with a knife. Once they are dry you can sand off any rough spots and glue them to the base. You can get almost an army with of bases with one pack of clay and a single roller instead of buying textured bases from GW or others for $25 dollars and up for like 10 bases. If your models don’t stay on the bases well I just pin them with broken pieces of paper clip and a small drill.
If you are playing against a painted army and you couldn't be bothered to paint your army its a bit rude IMHO. They don't have to be works of art. You can prime your army one of the colours ie blue for ultra marianes . You can buy starter sets cheap and every time you buy new miniatures buy one new paint, you will soon build up nice collection.cost is an excuse.
Yep, it's really easy to prime, drybrush, and do one pass of details. For example, for Necrons you basecoat black, drybrush silver, and color the eyes, orbs, and blades green, and you're done. For marines you basecoat your chapter color, paint their joints and guns black, throw on a wash, and paint their eyes red and it's ready, maybe painting the aquila and gunmetal silver/gold if you want to. These go sooooo fast.
YOU'RE THE MAN!!! APPRECIATE YOU!!!

Haha thanks! It was good to meet you and hopefully we'll see you again next year. Seems like you fit right in with our community.
Thanks for the shout out man! We had so much fun at the tournament! Can't wait until next year!
Thanks for saying that! I look forward to it all year, unfortunately I have another 11 and 1/2 months to wait now.

Good suggestion! The ones I've seen using that technique look really nice.
So helpful. I always buy the cheap primer & brushes - I abuse my brushes, but it doesn’t hurt my wallet.
Same here, I'm not going to spend a fortune on brushes.

I have always been up front that I am more for the game than the hobby.
Same here! Though I do prefer painted minis. They just don't have to take years to paint or hundreds of dollars.
@LetsTalkTabletop absolutely not. I tend to go for the 3 foot rule and my termagaunts are just Skittles.
