Out of all the content on UA-cam or elsewhere in regards to painting 40k minis, I have learned the most valuable and advanced information from you, and being a lifelong artist myself, albeit self-taught, these are just fundamental techniques scaled down into this very specific hobby. THANK YOU BROTHER. You are an incredibly skilled human.
Loved these explanations.. Literally figured out the shiny = resolution thing the other day.. the less shiny something is the more blurred the reflection gets.. or the more blurred the objects in the reflection get.. at one end they're just blobs of their main colour, the other you can see the object. Hadn't gotten round to matt v gloss yet though.
So matte vs gloss is exactly what you just talked about, the clarity of the reflections. The "shininess" I was talking about with regard to metals is the intensity of the reflections, a measure of the raw amount of light reflected
Unfortunately it doesn't pay to make a video just on painting the leather, it would be too short and too simplistic to make a full length video for. I do have a video concept about how to think in layers that would be a perfect way to showcase my leather process so look out for that one once I make it.
@@HereticsHeroes Thanks man! Totalyl understand, will look forward to it. Honestly the short simple videos that just show the whole process are my favourite so i love those haha I feel like alot of painting videos on youtube nowdays have alot of editing for the viewer to keep up with
