I got to see Merle in one of his last concerts here in rural Idaho in a small casino venue. Held probably 200 ppl. His son was selling the T-shirts. Was so awesome and fun! RIP MERLE AND TOBY! Two huge PATRIOTS! And the song is more relevant today than ever before.

Merle's tribute to American patriotism, a wonderful song that attacks those who would undermine the values & culture and freedom of the United States of America and throw dirt in the faces of the many who have given their lives to ensure those who came after them would share those same values & culture & freedom. I'm not American, but I love their patriotism & wish it was equally evident here in my country. And although we have lost both Merle and Toby, this video stands as a testament to them both. For those who don't agree, the song has a message for you ....If you don't love it, leave it!

They both are playing guitars, plugged in (toby's wireless) and in the correct key. They're both pros and players as well as singers. Anyone who can write and sing 20 plus number 1 hits knows damn well how to play his guitar.

I Love Mighty Merle Haggard !!! I have all my life. I am 57 yrs old and still think I sound pretty darn close to his sound. I have had the opportunity of singing on stage at Printers Alley with his son Marty. Was a great time !! would like to do a guitar with Merle and some of his songs. Jerry London
