Just because Woody's playing well doesn't mean anyone needs to slag Keith off; it's not a war. Actually, playing country lead alongside a steely takes a fair bit of know-how and his Keithness is doing a fine job. They recruited Ron for his similarity to Keith and his character as well but what a bonus it was getting a good steely? I've loved his work on this instrument since "Sweet lady Mary" and "mandolin wind".
Nashville pop on what USED TO BE Country music radio ain't Country. Guess alternative, pop, and rap had nowhere else to go so they took over Country radio.
Yup! Keith Richards and the late great Gram Parsons (the pioneer of country rock) were best friends and it was Gram who (by Keith's own admission) opened the Stones up to country music. Keith and Mick actually gifted Wild Horses to Gram's band the Flying Burrito Brothers over a year before they recorded it themselves.
@@idicula1979 You've got that backwards. You can't play Rock & Roll without Country, which was around a lot sooner. There's been plenty of cross-pollination for sure, but without blues and country and soul already existing, rock would have never been born.

Love it! So great to hear Mick and the Rolling Stones sing Bog Wills Is Still The King. Ireland's King of Country Music, Big Tom (McBride) has often told me in interviews that the Rolling Stones are his favourite rock band. Now I know why .....
The credits to the songwriter in the beginning. Played in true country style. Even though you built a brand in another genre. These gentlemen are a touch of class we likely won't see again.
So good he sing Mick❤❤❤wow and Ronnie play in steel gitarr❤❤and all the other in the band Charlie😢❤❤and Keith ❤❤and Matt Clifford ❤❤and maybe some more Chuck Lewell ❤❤
Great job from this English band ... I'd say they have a great future in Western Swing. This band will go far - mark my words!
+Andrew Brennan Never make it big. No twin fiddlers.
Hahah! Exactly! Every good country song starts out with 2 taps on the fiddle!
What, no mandolin with the pedal steel?
***** Diude, are you Ray Charles's stunt double? You obviously didn't see the humor . Called the Greatest band in rock and roll but they'll never make it big playing shit-kicker songs. Because they don't need to.
They gave themselves only 6 months in '62.
Ronnie Wood's playing is what really makes this work.
yeah Keith is totally clueless he doesn't know what to do.
Keith is not Clueless here, he's riffing.
the one time
ImperialRadioYT what are you referring to
Just because Woody's playing well doesn't mean anyone needs to slag Keith off; it's not a war.
Just goes to show, The Stones can perform ANYTHING!
This is why they’re the greatest band in the world❤
proud Texan and great tribute
These ole rockers kill it!! More COUNTRY than any so-called country on the radio today!
Damned straight! I was going to say the same thing! Oh hell, Mick has ALWAYS had his country side! And God bless 'Ol Waylon!
Nashville pop on what USED TO BE Country music radio ain't Country. Guess alternative, pop, and rap had nowhere else to go so they took over Country radio.
You said it…..better country than anything currently out there.
There's still good country music being made by artists in Nashville.
Easily my favorite band. This is another reason why.
More true to country roots than Nashville today. Great job.
You can't play country without Rock and Roll. But nowadays it's pop songs that pay, so it's pop song that play. The day that music died.
Yes indeed pedal steel and all
AMEN!!! Jamey Johnson's all we got left!!!
That's the Stones for you... musical class all the way! This is an example of why they've been around for a thousand years.
Rolling Stones done a hell of a job on this song and a pedal steel guitar with right on key with the song. I had a family member that played in a country band hearing that pedal steel guitar reminded me of him. He found the Lord before he passed away and was playing the steel guitar in church for our heavenly father
