How to install RettroBand®

- Join Angie today as she gets help from NIRVC's tire expert to install RettroBand® on a Class A motorhome!
Steps:
0 - Intro 00:00
1 - Place wheel chocks 01:22
2 - Locate jacking point and jack up coach 01:43
3 - Remove lug nuts, remove tire 02:35
4 - Lay tire face up 02:43
5 - Release air from tire 02:48
6 - Break tire bead on both sides 02:35
7 - Lubricate inner tire and rim 03:01
8 - Remove tire from rim 03:08
9 - Apply anti-seize to gearbox threads 03:44
10 - Insert pins and install first gearbox one side at a time 03:49
11 - Place Rettroband inside tire 04:07
12 - Install second gearbox 04:13
13 - Lubricate bead of tire, Rettroband, and rim 04:28
14 - Mount Rettroband and tire onto rim 04:37
15 - Use appropriate ratchet to tighten both gearboxes 04:46
16 - Put inner tire over rim, re-install valve core, air up tire 05:04
17 - Balance tire 05:11
18 - Put tire back on vehicle 05:21

I had not heard of rettroband before finding this video. Hope the day will come that they will be standard equipment on all vehicles

The only place you can get the Rettrobands installed is at one of our National Indoor RV Center locations. We also recommend using a tire professional to change the Rettroband if you are replacing tires or repairing a damaged tire.

So Angie , God forbit we have a blowout, but say we do with Rettroband installed. Must that band be replaced ( purchase a new one ) post blowout before proceeding upon the Journey
It’s a one time purchase. If you have a blowout we will install a new Rettroband for you. A one time purchase.

First off, what is rettroband, and what does it do? Second, their website only has a limited home page.

Am I supposed to have a notification sticker on the front rims? I only have one on the side of the coach
What are the benefits to install Rettroband on the RV?
It’s a spare within the tire and it sits about 4 inches above the rim. It is designed to keep the tire on the wheel and to drive on to get you safely to the side of the road in the event of a front end blow-out.

With Rettroband installed and after you have a flat can it be reused on the new tire or is it a one and done?
It can be re-used but we will give you a new set as long as it is the same size. It is a one time purchase! Complete peace of mind with Rettroband installed!
