Terminate the Tower is a pretty cool reference to Slay the Spire. It offers 4 cards, each of which are re-writes on class cards for StS that have similar effects. There's red-bordered Ironclad's Break Limits = Limit Break, green-bordered Silent's Sweep the Leg = Leg Sweep, blue-bordered Defect's Scratch = Claw, and purple-bordered Watcher's Expulsion = Eruption.
Bootleg StS isn't real and thus it cannot hurt you.
Yeah I really like the Slay the Spire card references. They are quite well done. I especially liked Claw and the Fury stance.
They took lock from 4 mana 7/7 now it's just busted (not meaning that) instead of a constant stream of busting (not meaning that)

I'm from Oregon and I live in California right now. I think the pacific northwest ends in the middle of Oregon. When you drive through you come to a point where the grasses on the side of the road turn from brown to green, that's where the border is.

The dealer didnt hit because they were at 17 or above and then stood which means they are locked and whatever is played after that will not make them hit more
there honestly should be like some indicator for when your opponent is locked into standing

At first I thought the strategy for the second deck was to only have cards worth 10 or Aces on the deck, so have a high chance to hit 20 or 21, but picking a 13 at 27:31 ruined it...
i was dying when he picked that one. many of his errors are silly mistakes or not knowing how things work. that one was.... special....

Interesting detail about NL's estimate of the Pacific Northwest: So, the geographical center of the contiguous US is claimed to be at 39 degrees, 50 minutes North Latitude, meaning that anything above that is in the "north" of the country.
California specifically starts its diagonal border with Nevada at 39 degrees North, shortly above Sacramento.
if you want to be technical, the line for the pacific northwest should be about 87 miles north of Sacramento, or just over halfway between it and Redding.

Death is very good for reducing the deck to Aces and face / 10s. Especially if you got jack of all trades.
Flamewreathed Faceless is the king of blackjack apparently. Damn that card is strong!

Gotta say, installed this game myself and won 3 games back to back to back, so not much challenge in the demo, but defo really fun
The big problem is that builds focused on making your opponent bust are _nuts_, and thats v apparent, but very strong dopamine generator either way
Also, adding lots of cards to your deck is really good. Thin to win instinct I think is usually right in deckbuuilders but not here weirdly
Also fun fact, if you build your deck right you can have your entire deck in your hand and be unable to hit
@@cameronscott9399 when drawing is simple as press "hit" you dont need to worry to much about size. Also Booster Packs go nuts.

I like NL's playstyle in the second run, hopefully the dev would hone in on what makes it work and what makes it fun (like possible balance updates, e.g rewarding standing early/earlier than the opponent like maybe with direct dmg effects).
Also I'd like to see more of gambling/rng effect of being stuck with a "bad" card and having to remove it later; forcing the player to adapt.
And more of this effect of opponent being cowardly or bold with their hits. Also possibly not being able to see own or opponent's hits.
All of this could be scripted to some extent.
You may laugh at me for ordering chicken tenders, but I am living in food decadence while you are living off mediocre food and scraps from the gods. We are not the same

I’ve been playing this nonstop since I saw your video yesterday, so far I’ve never lost
Yea I try the game and kind of agree with NL that low cards just seem too good. I try to make a deck of only 10 and aces and it was good ish but took a white to get there. Then I made a deck that all negative cards and pick an ace and the deck slowly try in to all aces and just high 21 all the time 1 card at a time.
I think the game needs some sort of counter strategy to spamming low cards.
I tried playing the demo and this game just about broke my brain; I'm glad I can watch NL play it instead so he can explain wtf is happening. 😂
Yeah, they definitely need to do a bit of work on the audio. Never know each time you load it up whether it'll work perfectly, be a stuttery, crackling mess or even work at all. :(
edit: Twice it wouldn't respond to the Reset button, which was very annoying.

A multiplayer version of this could be amazing. I’d watch streamer tournaments of this. Make it kind of like super auto pets. Can change cards in between rounds in a similar fashion to how it already works in campaign
The first time I saw him read that 4mana 7/7 it sounded like it could be problematic for you for adding the 4s but damn, that’s way too powerful.
