Nice build, but hard to believe you listened to that for two and a half years, even if it was just on weekends. Better man than me. Nine minutes and I'm fried. Thanks
For real on that music. I had to mute it, felt like an alarm going off but I couldn't do anything about it. Great build! Surely will take elements for my own build. Thank you!
Great and beautiful. Can you tell me about the aluminum panels (size, cost, seller)? How does it hold up to thermal expansion (oil-canning, etc). Thanks in advance.
Your choice of music. With all due respect Is absolutely terrible. It's basically a bunch of a high-pitched whistling. Set the music. And the whistling is way too loud.
I know several people didn't like the music, but I did (even though the second half of the video it just kept repeating a portion of the song). Any chance you could tell me the saon name and the artist? Thank you.
so took him nearly 2.5 years to build. not ordinary build with a lot of tooling. great job! i'm DIY in process on 13' x 8.5' jet ski trailer with indoor shower, toilet, skylight, AC on the front trailer 450 watt, shower indoor, kitchen for severe weather, solar 100-400 watts panel; maybe put in futon folding bed sleeps two, can be unfolded for dinner. diamond plating all around and roof. check it out on youtube while in progress. title: DIY mini-camper with indoor shower, toilet, standup room for kitchen, with skylight. this lightweight mini-camper will be towed with my 1964 scout 80. so far i spent two weeks progressing along well since i'm retired and more time to prepare this project. planning to take it for cross-country camp along the wide span of this beautiful country in the USA.
Enough has been said about the Music so no more. Nice video and fantastic end product. I notice there is some pretty thick ply used in the construction. was that a "belt & braces" (suspenders) thing, UK expression. Have save this for future inspiration. Thank you for posting.
Nothing radical just lots of attention to detail good job .it looks nice the ones from the 40s,and 50s were nailed and glued together,,crudely but every now and then one would show up like this .well crafted and well done.
Nice build....very well done. If i were to change anything it would be flexible solar on the roof and your galley could use some finishing, maybe an induction cook top and a dometic fridge on a pull out and the final would be running water
Love it I'm getting ideas from all you builders as I am replacing my last 4x8 build with a 5x8 build and looking for improvements, those LED are great and a nice camper. Felix check out my build if you have time.
Beautiful build! Heat. I am amazed at how hot bare aluminum gets - In the sun it cannot be touched. I always assumed it would be the perfect reflector, but instead it seems to collect a majority of the sun’s heat. Maybe the lite colored anodized? I need to set some of that in the sun, to test it. However, after friends trying paint and other shading methods to cut the heat buildup on bare aluminum, it is crossed off my list for exterior use. Thank you for the share! You did a really nice job!
Awesome!!! Is this your first? Was the aluminum skin difficult? I'm trying to decide if I am going to do wood or aluminum.... the aluminum looks really good but it's a little intimidating.
Very Nice build sir ! For several months I have been making plans , adjusting them , sourcing materials etc. for a small trailer build . One thing I've yet to find out , is how/what to use to adhere the exterior aluminum sheet to the wood and not have it wrinkle & bulge with temperature changes . If you have time to answer , it would be appreciated . Thanks Cyril
Hi Cyril. Thanks for watching. Very good question. I was concerned myself as well hearing what others has said about this expansion with heat and all. My aluminum sheet is only held in place by the external trim molding and nothing else. I was worried that if I glued it down to the wood that it would cause uneven expansion or harsh ripples. Also I live in a fairly moderate climate location where the temperature is more less the same most of the year.
NICE trailer and nice video. Perfect length. What is the thickness of the plywood for the rear hatch cover and the front where it curves? Was it hard to bend? Thanks
The sink on floor is great idea=As you crawl in its on your knees,if you stepped in you could pivot and sit on bed.. of course bed can't be as wide. could be to 2 pc bed. Sink would still high enough to match axle
I would like to build something similar. I have a concern about the base trailer itself. Where did you get yours? Are the tires 12"? Does it limit your speed?
I started mine as well and replaced the 12" trailer tires with aluminum rims 16" car tires. It is light trailer and I asked my local authorities, they set: if you do not exceed drastically the load spec of the tires it is OK.
I got my trailer custom built by a local axle shop but is no longer in business. The tires itself are 13" and are rated over 100km/h although I wouldn't go much faster than that.
Easy to watch, very very hard to listen to! Great job on the build!
Nice build, but hard to believe you listened to that for two and a half years, even if it was just on weekends. Better man than me. Nine minutes and I'm fried. Thanks
Great camper, awful muzak. 😂
Nice build! That music tho :/
Good video, once I muted It.
For real on that music. I had to mute it, felt like an alarm going off but I couldn't do anything about it. Great build! Surely will take elements for my own build. Thank you!

Beautiful build. Couldn’t help noticing your meticulously kept yard and build space. Wow! Well done! You’re the neighbor everybody wants next door.
Thank you
Thanks for this, a good quality build job, to go about the right way, much appreciated. ( I've heard worse music, its ok )
I’ve changed my thoughts on building tear drop
The craftsmanship on your self built trailer is amazing... Mad respect for you.
Awesome build! How thick is the exterior metal (aluminum?) and what is your source? Thanks!!
The aluminium thickness is .032. and the source is Metal Supermarkets in Canada.
@@felix0921 Thank you, sir.
WOW! wonderful build quality and great ideas for my future build... Thanks for sharing
Your choice of music. With all due respect Is absolutely terrible. It's basically a bunch of a high-pitched whistling. Set the music. And the whistling is way too loud.
very annoying music wtf but teardrop awesome sorry thank for video
Great build. Do you know the overall weight of the camper?
Looks great but the music almost drove me to suicide....I had to mute it.
Great video and will certainly help me when I finally get started. Well done.
Whoa. Good video. But Is the music some sort of an auto generated deal? Pick something else... so tough on the ears.
Looks great but couldn’t watch past about 5minutes.... that music was driving me insane :-(
When you play music I don't know what it is but you can never learn what you are doing
Very nice. I always like seeing other people's ideas.
Muito lindo, parabéns...!!!
How long was the total time for this build? Great job.
I did mine in 130 hrs
I need a building plan from scratch
Geez now that’s a nice trailer. How much materials cost? And do you have a list of tools you used?
Que linda gotita!!! En nuestro canal compartimos información para rodanteros, si les interesa dense una vuelta, saludos!!
I know several people didn't like the music, but I did (even though the second half of the video it just kept repeating a portion of the song).
Any chance you could tell me the saon name and the artist? Thank you.
I couldn't tell you what it is. I used Adobe premiere and it was one of those free music that comes included in the package.
Good video, but had to silence the music after the 3rd loop
Thanks to you I am half way thru my home built teardrop camper but my video is not very good, and there was a little fire too.
Who decided on the terrible sounds, other wise a good build.

What did you use for paint that is so glossy. I thought it was fiberglass at first
It is aluminum sheets

What is it about people who complain about music ? Do they also complain about theirs wives nagging ? oh ya nice build by the way.
For any future builds try. www.kedel.co.uk
Wood = fail. A trailer like this could easily have a 30 year lifespan, but not if it was built using wood.
Nothing radical just lots of attention to detail good job .it looks nice the ones from the 40s,and 50s were nailed and glued together,,crudely but every now and then one would show up like this .well crafted and well done.
New Sub here, great build

Just curious as to how you held the aluminum sides on ? There are several Ways that seem to contradict each other
It is held by the trim molding. That allows for expansion. It over overlaps by about .5 inch
I got some great ideas from this video for my build, thanks felix0921
Glad to hear. I would like to see progress on yours if you are building one
@@takliu9758 I put it on You tube just click my channel
Nice build. I love the sinks for storsge. How did you block the drain openings?
I used the left over aluminium sheets and cut circles with it. Then sealed the holes with epoxy
Great build.... terrible music
A look round once you'de finished would have been nice mate, but good luck a great build job
Soon as I saw his lawn, I knew this was going to be good. Now if I can just get that music out of my head!
It was fun to watch- but far out of most people ability. Good job.

Damn that is cool you are a perfectionist. I mean that in a good way
Thank you very much
Very professional looking build. Nice job.
Good job mate, well done!
I’m jealous of your skills !! Nice job !!
Lo vi una ves y creo que no me quedo muy claro por que puso la bacha abajo de donde se duerme. O vi mal yo o no entendi lo que vi.
Great build. Excellent craftsmanship. I am jealous of you skills. Any chance you would do an update 1 year later. It would be nice to see the fina
It would be nice to se a tour of the final project.
I'd like very much to know the weight of the trailer when finished. I need it to be below 182 kg to be able to pull behind my trike.
Lovely job. I'm thinking of building something myself. How much would you say it cost you in materials? Thank you.
Material costs came to about $4500 cdn
Nice build, thanks for sharing.
Awesome!!! Is this your first? Was the aluminum skin difficult? I'm trying to decide if I am going to do wood or aluminum.... the aluminum looks really good but it's a little intimidating.
You may consider two part epoxy resin like I have done on all five I built
Nice, simple video. Great job.
Very nice. Love the sinks under the floor. Are those for storage?
Yes under floor storage.
That’s so cool!
What did it cost you to build
Trailer frame was $980. The rest was about $3000
Hermosa ¡¡¡
Nice!
Nice teardrop. Thinking about building one. Where did you get the trailer frame?
The place I purchased from is no longer in business. It was an axle repair shop that built trailers on the side
Nice
Nicely done
Do you have building plans available.
Thank You
Sorry all built in my head. I still have the full size template
Очень хорошо ☝
OMG that music sucks over & over & over & over
Same here, good video, music sucks

Thanks for your reply . Appreciate it !
Others have asked the weight, I'll repeat the question. Any idea what the weight is?
I am gonna say upwards of 1200 lbs
I see all that time being spent on this project and your grass / lawn has been seriously neglected 😜😝😉
Nice build BUT that must weigh more than my car very over engineered (don't know who chose the music but UGH !!!)
A lot of effort on that build. Looked really good. How much does it weigh.
Never weighed it. I'm gonna assume it is over 1300lbs
Diggin' the Bob Seger tune ;)
Nice job home made cheap
Well done, just missing coffee machine for when I drop into the " Do Drop Inn" Mobile ham shack
Damn. Are you an engineer, carpenter? Very professional.
Neither. Just a hobbyist that is passionate and have an eye for detail
After , I muted it I watch the rest of build
NICE trailer and nice video. Perfect length. What is the thickness of the plywood for the rear hatch cover and the front where it curves? Was it hard to bend? Thanks
The thickness I used is 1/8 inch maghony wood. It is easiest to bend but still have to be careful of bend radius as it can still snap in half
Thanks
The sink on floor is great idea=As you crawl in its on your knees,if you stepped in you could pivot and sit on bed.. of course bed can't be as wide. could be to 2 pc bed. Sink would still high enough to match axle
Yes the sink is above the axle line so it shouldn't bottom out on anything hopefully
Worst music ever!
Nice job! Congrats from Brazil.
Show,,,,,,,,
Where did you course the Aluminum for the outer skin?
Purchased it at Metal Supermarkets
Where will the ham gear go?
I would like to build something similar. I have a concern about the base trailer itself. Where did you get yours? Are the tires 12"? Does it limit your speed?

I use the Northern tool trailer wit 13 in tires and it goes down the road just fine
What are the sinks for in the floor?
Nice but not a teardrop
What is the material used between the inner and outer wall sides?
It is called MDO. Not to be confused with MDF
You have done an amazing job! How much does this weigh? Enjoy your journey!
Thanks. Never weighed it, but I would guess 1200 lbs. Had no issues towing with my 4 cylinder car, 130HP car
You did an awesome job.Hope you are enjoying it.
Thanks. Just went camping the past weekend at Manning Park, BC, Canada
Good job on your teardrop trailer.
Well done! Chapeau!
Enjoyed this. How about a walk around?
Good point. I will do that on my next camping adventure.
Awesome built ,I just didn't like the blue and the green but it's just me,haha
It is just the blue vinyl. The green you are seeing may be a reflection of the grass onto the aluminum sheets.
Nice, thank you so much ,that sounds a lot better , hopefully I will build me one someday, I like that all aluminum outside .
Great build!
I would love to build one of these... it looks amazing... I need a step by step with measurements..
Details plans available for only $900. US currency. Engineer seal extra.
@@rhigel2269 where to buy?
