  • After building our first teardrop, we had so many questions and compliments that we had to do it again! In this video, we show the first half of our third homemade teardrop camper start to finish in a Timelapse. We go into further detail o the aluminum, doors, and final steps in part 2. • Part 2: How To Build a...
As always, let us know if you have any questions! We have dedicated our time to helping others get in a teardrop trailer and on the road asap, through helping DIYers and building custom campers for those that don’t want to.
    Happy building!

I just saw your webpage for the plans of your two trailers. And read that the plans do have the specific numbered measurement for each piece! But that the numbers are not in inches, which is what I'm used to, so does that mean that they are in metric numbers, I.E. centimeters? And that the price is for them are over $140+, in what I'm guessing that it's in pounds? Please specify the measurements? That it's in either 'centimeters' or 'inches?' thanks.

I used Popular Mechanics plans from the '60s to build mine. Used a lot of aircraft material to save weight, the foam core floor was sandwiched between corrugated aluminum panels, weighed like 9lbs. I sold it about five years ago to a guy that wouldn't leave me alone about selling it. This vid makes me want another one.

I've built a lot of heavy-duty trailers and some long enclosed but never a teardrop, odd since as a young guy I spent a summer in one panning for gold with my stepdad... maybe that's why? LOL But I have to say that looks so cute and light it would be a breeze to drag around the country now that I'm old and retired. Looks fairly easy and ya don't need a lot of shop for the build. Where's the plans at that you mentioned? by the way it's great your wifes helping and being a partner with you, you're a lucky man. I would like to see how much room you have for sleeping. What A nice Build, your a good craftsman... One thing i dont understand about Y'all who build these out of plywood? Why Dont you use a good primer sealer for the exposed areas to water and the environment. It will last so much longer....

Can you use these plans for a longer trailer than what you used?

What kind of teardrop camper build would you recommend for a hot tropical weather like Costa Rica? It has to be something light, that is basically a fridge to have an ac with propane or gas, and it also has to withstand heavy rains. What is the best option for the body of the camper. Epoxy Fiber with a foam or some sort of Styrofoam and a light wood or aluminum inside? I was thinking I only need it to be rigid on the outside so i could use something light to give it the finish for the inside, but not sure if that s a good idea. Thanks!

Very interesting job. Is it possible to trust its strength without an iron frame?

What is the rigid hand tool you are using to flush trim the plywood skin from your trailer roof? It looks nifty, thanks!

Could you please tell me how much the materials cost to build each of your diy campers based on your plans? Thank you
