My symptoms didn't show up until after my after-birth exam a few weeks after my son was born, and I thought it was just my lifelong anxiety popping back up and that I could handle it on my own. Nope, it was definitely postpartum! I see the office counselor bi-weekly or once a month depending on what's going on in my life and I like the fact that she's in my OBGYN office - especially since I'll have to stop taking my anti-depressants when I decide to get pregnant again, and I'll have that additional support in the same place as everything else.

Plus thinking differently than most people can be a good thing too! I'm always going to have issues, but I can change my outlook and better react! And teach my students and children to do the same! Currently pregnant with my 6th. The 20cm made me LOL. Also for those who don’t know much about birth, the vaginal opening DOES NOT dilate; the cervix (the opening at the base of the uterus) does. That’s why it burns and often tears when baby comes out. Fun times.

P03ticJustice Not always, the Dr’s made sure I was pushing right but I was at a high risk of tearing because of the size of her head and her hand was on her face, plus being my first even at 10cm dilated it wasn’t prepared for that. They ended up cutting me so the healing would be better and the tearing not as severe
I gave birth last week naturally but had to get induced and yes it was extremely painful and I’m now slowly recovering with 4 stitches but being a mother is the best feeling in the world and words can’t describe how much happiness my precious boy has gave me💙
Exactly my point. It's not pain free for sure. My first was a long labor with epidural, my second was induced with no epidural. The little bundle of joy at the end is so worth it! Congratulations!

It’s the quickest way for the mother to get nutrients back into her body and is said to help prevent symptoms of postpartum depression. Yes it may be a bit squeamish but it helps set up mother and child for a healthy start 😊 or so I’ve heard

While it is higher than other similarly developed nations, calling it a third world rate is hugely exaggerated. The US rate is 14 deaths out of every 100,000 births. The majority of third world countries have rates over over 100/100,000. Improvements could be made for sure but there's no need to be alarmist.

Currently pregnant with my third. This gave me such a giggle! Having kids isn't for everyone but it's not THAT bad, otherwise there would be a lot less people in the world. And so much varies from pregnancy to pregnancy. All in all, don't let this scare you away from having kids though not having kids is a perfectly normal and valid choice as well.
After giving birth shortly after every women goes through a month long of bleeding. Sorta like your period. So that is not true. Also the placenta and baby has blood on it when it comes out. That is literally impossible for you not to bleed in some way.
They’re likely talking about all the shedding your uterus does when it is shrinking back to normal. I’ve had two babies, and seen a few births, and there is definitely blood involved 100% of the time. But not necessarily a ton! But every delivery doctor I’ve ever seen (whether in my births or someone else’s) also have blood on them
I had 14hrsof labour, got cut and still ripped , it was deep and required a senior doc to do the stitches 🤪.... I love my beautiful baby boy ...but 💩💩💩 has never been the same since. If I could I would have another baby it was worth it , he's a blessing

They’re likely talking about all the shedding your uterus does when it is shrinking back to normal. I’ve had two babies, and seen a few births, and there is definitely blood involved 100% of the time. But not necessarily a ton! But every delivery doctor I’ve ever seen (whether in my births or someone else’s) also have blood on them
I bleed for not even a week with my last birth. Not a month long though.

I had 14hrsof labour, got cut and still ripped , it was deep and required a senior doc to do the stitches 🤪.... I love my beautiful baby boy ...but 💩💩💩 has never been the same since. If I could I would have another baby it was worth it , he's a blessing
