THANK YOU! I've seen the clips with Rik Mayall and Simon Ward and have always wanted to see more of this show. After going down the Harold Pinter rabbit hole several years ago and discovering Gray's work I've been a huge fan. Read all his diaries and even found a copy of the original script for The Rear Column on Ebay (it was filmed over two evenings after rehersals. Thers's a comment by Clive Francis on his website describing how Pinter was taught multi-camera filming technique in a 20hr crash course prior to filming.) It's a shame that the BBC have not released Gray's work in collection form.
@@bungorogers7067 How true. Especially as we paid for it. The film of THE REAR COLUMN is riveting and demands to be seen. The play alas is probably never to be revived (I tried), given today’s asinine climate of correctness.
Great writer...crap father (by turns abusive & neglectful), but you can't have it all, as the saying goes. Perhaps he deserves to be as forgotten as he has been, talented as he indisputably was. RIP you Old Has-been.
