    Terry is severely underrated by most football fans. When the conversation of greatest comes up, it's usually Brady, Montana, Elway, Marino, Manning, Unitas and a few others in the discussion. This guy was as clutch as they came, he was the definition of the big game qb.

    Terry Bradshaw and the Pittsburgh Steelers of the mid to late 70s, you are the smoothest looking explosive team dynasty ever! And I'm not saying this just because of this video! I have always thought that. This Steeler dynasty made it look so polished and just so easy. And Bradshaw was probably the best pocket quarterback of all time. They really dominated the NFL. Thank you Terry. And thank you Pittsburg Steelers. It was such joy and pleasure that you all gave us watching you all play. Again, THANK YOU PITTSBURG STEELERS. The best NFL football team dynasty ever. IMHO.

    2:23 was a very "Branshaw" moment. People mistook his humility with stupidity. The guy had incredible football intelligence to go with that incredible arm. Can't argue with 4 superbowl victories. He was kind of like Elway in that he improved with age, truly maturing as a quaterback towards the end of his career. He also had a great optimistic attitude that trickled down to the rest of the team. Reminded me of a shrewder Favre.

"Gutsy call!", Cosell said. Bradshaw - tough as nails, powerful, cocky. He threw so many interceptions, and his completion percentage was only stellar in two seasons (and he never exceeded 60% except in 1983, from 1 game), but he got the job done in the long run. He is excellent at the desk, too.

    He was a good fit for a great team, that make him part of greatness. He took a lot of chances ( which is why statistically he has so many interceptions) but the number 4 ( super bowls ) outshines the risks. During the time of the steelers dominance, the Huston Oilers HAD an incredible team as well, ( very we rounded ) but the Steelers peaked at the same time, and Huston just coul'nt get over us. The pass against the Broncos at 1:56 and against the chargers at 3:10 were pushing close to 70 yards in the air. Most of the others are 30-50 yard ropes. You don't see too many QB's in todays game throw passes like Bradshaw did...sometimes leaning away on with back foot! His arm strength was amazing, equivalent to Nolan Ryan with a football.

    @HinesXL Also coverage rule changes in 1980 resulted in the "westcoast offense". Some in the NFL thought the the game s/b more of a passing game, the 49ers designed their plays around these rule changes. And used alot of five yard routs.

  • @Price70
    @Price70 14 років тому

    @inmhstn Actually the rules changes came in 78 but by 1980 they were in full affect. What's cool about Terry is he is the only QB to win not only one SB in each era but 2 in each era. Terry was a back to back SB QB in the OLD NFL of Unitaus, Graham and Starr and a Back to Back SB QB in the era of Montana, Elway and Favre. Remember Montana's first SB was only 2 years after Terry's last and his 2nd was only 5 years after Terry's last and his 3rd and 4th were only one decade later.

    The Little Abner who couldn't spell cat, was 1st to spell "Doom" for Doomsday & Cowboys' flex defense. That defense is still remembered today as very complicated & sophisticated defense ("nobody else could teach it" said on Tom Landry Football Life).In reality,it was stupidly simple; every defender guard an area (except for MLB guards two areas).In SB 13,Stallworth knew where CB Kyle was going to be on both of his TDs. 2 of Bradshaw's 4 TDs were thrown on 1st down(to add to point made yesterday)

  • @Price70
    @Price70 5 років тому

    Bradshaw has a 112 career SB passer rating and over 4 games, all wins. Only Montana is higher for QBs who have played in 3 or more games.
    He also still holds the career SB and single game most yds per attempt.

    Look at 3:38 and watch the ball coming out of his hand. That's why they called him the blonde bomber.....seriously. That pass is just SICK even by today's standards. Dude had a cannon, and that is why the Rooney family drafted him.

    Montana's Int in XXIII was dropped by Billips which would've given CIncy a touchback and kept a 7 point lead.
    Terry called his own plays,
    Joe was Walsh's robot, a system QB who could've enver played under the old down field bump and run rules. Terry won 2 rings under the old and 2 under the new rules. Terry was just as clutch but with big plays instead of dink and dunk drives.
    Check out 4th quarter SB td passes of 64/ 73 yds in SB X and XIV, he threw a TD pass in the 4th quarter of each SB.

    Bradshaw saw through Landry's Flex defense, as Bradshaw went undefeated against the Cowboys. "Shoot," once said Bradshaw. "There was no big mystery about how to beat the Flex defense. You threw on 1st down. The corners were almost always man-to-man on 1st down because the Flex was geared to stop the run. I almost felt sorry for their CBs". In 1988, on NFL show "Against All Odds", WR John Stallworth recalled that there were plays in which he & Bradshaw connected by just drawing plays in the dirt.

    One of the greats, doesnt get the regonition he deserves which is a shame. people are to obsessed with stats,which only tell half the story of any quarterback. twinning is most important thing. what separates the men from the boys is doing it in the post season and getting to and winning the big one! Bradshaw done both and thats what makes him top 3 of all time any day of the week
