    1. You are not using active ingredients (retinol, salicylic acid, azelaic acid, etc)
    2. You are not using your products all over your face (you are only spot treating)
    3. Using products that are too stripping (alcohol, astringents)
    4. Being inconsistent with your products
    5. You are not washing ur towels, pillowcase etc. frequently enough

Before I got into the skincare community, I bought so many products which were expensive and did nothing to my skin or made it worse. So actually it‘s the oppsite for me. It’s two types of hyperpigmentation one is called PIE where it’s red pink spot and the other HIE i think where it dark. PIE is more common for lighter skin and HIE is more common with lighter skin. They usually go away eventually but I takes some time but you can speed up the process with vitamin C and niacinemide or take laser tingy. There aren’t much research on it since it wasn’t first discovered or had a name after 2013

    I learned very early on not to over strip my skin. When I first started getting acne, I bought two cleansers, one that was much more stripping than the other, and when I'd use that one, my face would get so greasy by mid-day. I found that when I used the gentler cleanser, my skin was a lot more balanced and didn't overproduce oil to compensate (and it actually helped my acne).

    I started using active ingredients in the beginning of December and I completely cut off products that contain fragrance. I did a ton of research on how to use them but now, mid january, i am still struggling with acne all over my chicks and before that on my jaw and neck. I did not have that serious of a problem with acne before I started using them and I am still trying to figure out if it's only purging or if I'm having a reaction. I'm using only The ordinary and the fragrance free aloe line from The body shop. I tried Cerave for 2 weeks and it was probably then when my skin started acting.... I don't know what to do, I'm starting to get really frustrated with the way my skin looks..

    So I know this is an older video of yours, but I had an acne question and I figured I'd try asking even if you don't see this.
    Is using a salicylic acid cleanser every night okay for the skin? I don't do this at the moment, but I have pcos, and while my acne isn't as bad as it could be, I do seem to get pimples all the time. They're easy to get rid of with a spot treatment or the cerave SA cleanser I do use, but I get them so often I'm wondering if I shouldn't just use the cleanser every night to avoid new pimples.
    I switch off the SA cleanser with cerave's hydrating one to avoid over drying my skin. Seems to work well so far.

    in the UK all my GPS have recommended astringents for my oily skin. I was also prescribed topical antibiotics without benzoyl peroxide and consequently developed resistance to two maim acne antibiotics. I was only given a retinoid when I saw a dermatologist privately

Aside from the sheets, are there any products recommended for a body acne prevention routine? I’ve put tretinoin on my shoulders and back before, as well as tea tree oil, and even some exfoliators. Is this recommended? I can’t be the only one.

    Okay, I’m in love with your content!
    I got a question for u guys!
    I’ve been using prescribed tretinoin for à few months and didn’t notice any improvement (I used a niacinamide moisturizer before tret). I switched my moisturizer to a plain one ( just HA/Mineral Oil/ Urea) and now the improvement is flying!
    My question : Could it be possible the other moisturizer was “blocking” the tretinoin? And could you guys make a vídeo about what can we do to minimize the tretinoin side effects?
    Ps: you guys got a brazilian fan! Hyram was right, you guys do an amazing job!

    • @Doctorly
      @Doctorly  3 роки тому +7

      First, thank you so much for your support! Niacinamide is unlikely to interfere with your tretinoin. Benzoyl peroxide is a known ingredient that can inactivate certain forms of tretinoin. I’m not sure why it wasn’t having effect before but sometimes these things can take time! To minimize side effects, try moisturizing before and after applying the tret. Also, use a very small pea-sized amount and spread evenly over the skin. You can also gradually taper up from every other day to every day

      For me, when I first started using it, it worked like how it is for you. I didn’t see much change at first, but over a period of time, it began to slowly clear up. Though, after using it for a long period of time, it started to dry up my skin really badly. My face was so sore and it was peeling all over. When this started to occur, I stopped using it right away. Before this all happened it cleared up most of my acne, but it was never fully gone. This was just my experience, but we all have different skin types so you can expect different results.

    Can you guys do a vid on how to get rid of blackheads on your nose? I've made a lot of progress with my acne at home with just salicylic acid/moisturizer/spf but am not sure what to do in that area without resorting to pore strips 🤷🏾‍♀️

    • @emyf9197
      @emyf9197 3 роки тому

      Pore strips are the worst.. They're gonna make it worse. If using BHA is not enough on the nose then it's likely u need it to get removed manually with an extractor. It's safer done at a dermatologist. U can do it yourself too but it's easy to overdo it and end up with scarring
