I'm an old school car enthusiast (old in general too) and I have to say ....you have a bright future ahead of you. I can immediately tell you actually know wth you're talking about. Much appreciated. ... Just purchased a 2019 Si for a fun commuter. Upgrades to come...
Thank you for your kind feedback, I really appreciate it 🙏. It is motivating to know that my content is valuable to you. Congrats on your new Si! I'm sure you'll have a blast driving it during your work commute for years to come 👍
I have a 2017 Civic Si and a 2019 Civic Type R and I love the stock shifter, I dont have any issues with it so therefore I dont need to change it. Im satisfied enough with it.
Great video! I have the full shifter for the 9th gen and I'm in love. I'm going to get my sister to get this for her car once available. Thanks for sharing
You all prolly dont give a shit but does anyone know of a way to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly lost my password. I love any tips you can give me!
Hey man. When are you going to be making that installation video? I just ordered mine. I'm excited to get it. But will be needing help/instructions on how to install it.
Hey man! Install video is about another month out, but acuity has a great PDF install guide on their website that should get you through your install in the meantime 👍.
I’ve heard that a type r shifter with some acuity bits and pieces makes shifting comparable to this the actual adjustment part is sacrificed though. But for less than $200 makes more sense to me.
Dude that’s awesome! I’ll definitely support Acuity. Getting my short shifter soon and already got the boot. Getting all the parts soon since I really cant afford $400 or so for the whole thing. Would love to hear more on your opinion on the differences between the assembly and the individual parts. Is stage 2 still good on track days?
Hey man! Thanks commenting, yes I would say the stage 2 kit would be great for the track, but the full shifter is only a month or so away! I would wait if I were you
Does this get rid of the crunch sound when shifting from 1st to 2nd ? I currently have the stage two kit and it seems to alleviate the problem but not fully
Hey man, I can relate to what your experiencing. This full shifter further improves mechanical feedback to the driver and makes the shifts feel very direct in comparison to the stage two kit. But in regards to the actual crunch sound, that crunch is most likely the result of the movement of internal parts in the transmission that can be felt through the cables as you shift, if that makes sense? The 10th gen cables are known to transmit noise from the transmission itself more so than 9th gens
I saw that the gate setting is the 19mm tightened to the bottom is shortest gate, for the throw is the shortest the ball with the 5mm allen setting on 1 or on 5 ??
I'm in OC California and would love this addition to my CTR; however I don't have the means to do the install myself. Do you know whether Acuity have any authorized dealers/installers here?
Hey man! Lemme get back to you on that. I'm not sure if there is an authorized installers local to you. But I'm currently working on an install video for this shifter install on the acuity channel, should give you a better idea on if you can perform the install yourself. But if I find an installer for you I'll respond back! I also wouldn't hesitate to engage with the online social media groups on the 10th gen civic. Very supportive and I bet you'll find someone that could help you with an install!
Hey man! So just heard back from Russ that Sparktec Motorsports is the only one right now in Cali that is a vendor for our products. I think they are pretty far north of LA. But I'd send them an inquiry to see if they would be willing to help with an install 👍
Yessir it's designed to fit all manual 10th gen civics 👍. What do u mean by lag on the shifter? I wouldn't say there's much lag, but I think that the stock shifter had a lot of slop and vague shifts. This full shifter does the best job at eliminating all of that. It provides incredibly precise shifts that feel notchier and inspire confidence into each shift 😎. It takes some time to find your optimal adjustments, but after a week or two of driving to get used to the new shifter, I feel like it's made my daily driving a hell of a lot more fun. Shifts are now crispy, quick, and consistent 👍
@@Pawinning Awesome man! Thanks for the input. That answer all my questions. This should be my next mod. Time to save some $$. You made some great videos! Was it difficult to install? You make it look easy lol I just barely bought the 2019 civic Si. I'm gonna wait a while just to enjoy the normal drive. Love it soo far!
Your welcome! And thanks man! Tbh the install is straightforward, but the first time you take apart you're center console it'll take a few hours depending on your experience level. I'm actually making a 10th gen install video on the acuity channel! Hoping to launch it Monday 😊
@@Pawinning Awesome! I guess I'll be waiting. I actually had a mini cooper clubman S 2008, and I did lots of things to it, but unfortunately it wasn't a reliable car so I traded in for the Si. It was fun but sad at the same time because I spend lots of time with it. I should had stayed with my roots. Honda all the way! Lol Thanks again for the videos. They help big time!
I understand how you feel, my e36 is on a similar situation, i spent so much time and money on it but it's still not as reliable as the civic 👌. So nowadays I enjoy the e36 on weekends or just tinker with it here and there. The Civic is the new, more fun daily imo 🤘
I would like to hear more detail on your critiques for this shifter. It does have a stiffer centering spring by design, and overall takes about a month to break in with daily driving so I understand why initially it feels stiffer than what most people are used to with the stock shifter. I also found that putting the shortest settings on the shifter will make it way too stiff for some drivers and it can make gate selection less precise. We encourage customers to play with the settings during the break in period because it is a significant shifting experience over the stock shifter and everyone has their own optimal adjustments 👌. If you adjust everything to the widest gate, and longest throw settings (position 1 on both), and even raise the height to the highest setting, that should make the shifting feel the least stiff. And I'm not sure where you're getting the 30 bolts from with the install process. In my 2017 civic SI that I made the shifter install video for, I found that there are 5 Phillips screws to remove in the center console, 2 bolts on the console support bracket, and 4 bolts on the stock shifter assembly that bolts it down to the car. The rest of the parts dealt with have plastic clips, and wiring connectors that hold everything in place. Some civic variations with wireless charging modules have an extra step with a few more screws and electronics to deal with, but shouldnt be too much more to handle during the console disassembly. The acuity short shifter itself only has 4 additional bolts to make custom adjustments, and also one more bolt on the side to affix the gear cable support mechanism 👍.
@@Pawinning yes if you put everything on short setting it makes it harder and notchy. But if you raise the rod or knob higher you will gain leverage and make it easier and smoother to manage

I was thinking along these lines too. Do you have a thread or a link to what parts are recommended along with the Type R shifter assembly?
Definitely adding this to my list of upgrades. Great video.
Thank you!
I'm confused, do you have a Type R or an Si? I was watching the vid where you installed upgrades on the R with Ted
Lol I drive an Si as a daily, my buddy Eddy owns the type r that I've done work on a few times as well.

you need a solid rear motor mount. I recommend 27won.

did you replace the cables, bushings, spring, and the shifter assembly? or just the acuity shifter?
Aside from the entire shifter assembly, I have the acuity 1881 cable bushings as well 👍.
What settings would you recommend for daily driving
I like starting out adjustments all in the middle settings for daily drivers, as the throws/gate spacing will be closer to stock 🤘
When you installed the shifter was your black shifter cable bending? Felt like the short shifter wasn’t long enough for it. I had to force it in
Which kit would you recommend just to improve daily driving?
Hey sorry for the delay! The stage 2 kit is a great start if you wanna have a setup that will make your daily commute a lot of fun 😎
Do I need any of the kits if I get this short shifter?
The stage 3 kit includes the full shifter and the cable bushings, but you can purchase the shifter on its own if you already have the cable bushings.
Pawinning I ordered the stage 3 kit. Can't wait!
Will this fit a 2018 Honda civic hatchback lx?
Im new to this world of short shifters, and all i want to know is, if it's suitable whit other vehicle or only with Honda civics.
Just wondering if Acuity ships to Canada?
Yes they do!
How much will it cost? when does it come out
An arm an a leg probably. But worth it lol
Ballpark is gonna be around 400-450 I think 🤔.
Is this what "stage 3" is on the website? Since it seems like it includes everything or do I gotta purchase some other things too?
What kind of hoodie is that bro?
Does the reverse lock out still work?
Yessir, shifting operations don't change ✌️
I order the acuity short shifter can you installing for me?
When does it come available?
Hopefully this month!

Raise the knob or shaft to give yourself leverage so it isn't as hard or notchy. Less effort.
Can always drop a grand on a CAE shifter for Gertrude lol
