Bro today I installed the short shifter... 😳 WAYYYYY better feel to the drive quality. I now completely understand what you meant by the shifter not complimenting the steering in sports mode. Everybody NEEDS to see your video. Now I have to get the bushings to complete the drive quality.
I’m happy you enjoy the parts!! It’s crazy what these mods can do to enhance how the car feels on the road. Thank you for your kind words and support on my work!
No this extender is not compatible with the type r shifter. I would recommend the full adjustable shifter from acuity if you want the shortest throws (and 3 other adjustable points too!)
Hey man! loving the content on your channel! I like the short shifter adapter a lot, and would recommend getting the rocker arm, base bushings, and cable bushings to further improve shifter feel. Excited for the full shifter to be released though in the coming months. If you want to discuss more about their products I'd be happy to do so either through email or dm's on instagram!
With the Short Throw Adapter you will not be able to go into 5th while you are sitting in the car testing the new adapter. Works fine after everything is put together and you are driving regularly.
you are correct, going into the gates for 5th/6th will be difficult if the car is stationary because the reverse gear gate isn’t locked out. Once the car picks up speed there’s a solenoid that’ll engage that lockout 🤘🏼
Was this video before the or after the fix you did with the noise/rubbing the short shifter was making? And when is acuity gonna come out with the short shifter adopter?
Before the video! We made the shifter fix video when we realized that the noise occurs with any shifter adapter that “extends” the shifter end link to reduce throw 👍. Rather than design an additional part to lock that bushing, we wanted to show you guys a cheap/easy solution to those that want the noise gone. The part is out now!
I have a 2018 Accord Sport (which has basically the same transmission as this IIRC) and Acuity has the same products available, but I was wondering if it's worth investing in the bushings and centering spring? I'm definitely getting the short shifter but I'm still on the fence about the bushings + centering spring, especially since it's $125 CAD more.
I have the sport and I realized after driving it for a bit of the larger amount of play. It’s annoying me and I’d like to do it. I’m just worried about trying to install it myself and messing it up
Don’t be intimidated! For most of the installs I tackled these parts for the first time. The pdf guides were a great resource. Tbh the hardest part is unfastening the darn electrical clips (center console disassembly). Other than that everything else is pretty straightforward to remove! If you need assistance, Acuity has great customer service I can vouch for. I can also talk via private messaging on Instagram and Facebook
Hey man! Sounds like youre talking about the cars electronics initiallizing when you first plug the battery back in? If so, that's totally normal. If everything is plugged back in, the car will show warning lights first as it tests all the electronics. Drive it for a few miles and then restart the car and it should go away 👍
Sir Pawinning im very happy to my acuity products. Much more happier if i get the short shifter itslef but its to expensive. You know, family first. Hopefully i could afford that shifter. Thanks your sir for giving time to reply my msg. More videos to come and take care sir
@@rickydomingo7 you're welcome, I'm happy to help as I can. No worries man I understand, I also have a tight budget now that I'm doing video editing as a full time gig. More videos to come 😎
question? sir, i just order and about to install the adpter . do i need to get the springs and bushing? what will happen if i replace the adapter only? need help. thanks
No you do not need the other parts. That's the nice thing about each one. They all provide unique upgrades on their own :). Quick tip. When you install the adapter make sure you press it up all the way, because there is a ring on the inside of the adapter that needs to expand as you push it onto the bottom of the shift lever. Some people don't do this and then the adapter will fall off from the shift lever. When you tighten it down, double check each torque twice. The adapter should be rigid and not have any play if installed correctly 👍
To shorten the movent side to side, the rocker arm will provide a nice reduction and also reduce almost all the lateral play. I'd recommend that with the spring and base bushings of you want to take your center console apart once 👌😉
Yessir 👍. All the trims should have similar disassembly procedure. Stuff like wireless chargers on some newer models may have additional electrical connectors to unplug tho
So I added the Shifter. But question, is the adapter suppose to slide up and down when it’s installed? I tightened it up, but it slides down to the ball joint. It doesn’t come off just slide up and down
@@ronaldocampos3517 hey man! No it's not suppose to slide up and down at all. You have to push the short shifter extender all the way up, you should feel the snap ring on the inside of the extender expand slightly as you push it up on to the stock shifter. Once you tighten it down everything should be rigid. Don't hesitate to contact acuity if you have more concerns with this!

Pawinning how about the shifter from left to right or vice versa?
Pawinning whats the difference if i don’t replace the springs and bushing?
Pawinning because i need it i wll order because too much work replacing the adapter

were your previous mods for your shifter still there before upgrading to these parts?
I’ll adjust the description cuz the order of the content is mixed. But this video contains the very first set of shifter mods installed on my civic.
I’m assuming the disassemble is the same on the civic hatch sport?

Will this work with the Boomba short shifter ( shift lever )?
I don’t think so :/. You would have to confirm with Acuity on that. From what I’ve heard, they don’t recommend pairing up acuity parts with others.
Would these parts also work for the lx?
As long as it's a manual, yes 👍.
